Hey Jeff, I have just discovered that you left ECF :( but fortunately I can still follow you here on your RUclips Channel ;) Thanks for the amazing content!
Thanks for the info, Jeff. What would you say are the cons about avoiding Inbound Placement Fees and having your inventory scattered all across the country?
Well, the biggest con to consider is going to be the cost to ship and split the inventory yourself. However, the biggest pro of using Amazon Split shipments (Sending to one or 3 warehouses) is that it will cut down on the freight forwarder side (therefore your side) expenses. It's a good idea to weigh all of your possible shipping options, usually, I will vouch for the cheapest option of course.
Great video, thanks! I’m a first-time importer and have a quick question. I’d like to compare an AGL quote with a freight forwarder’s quote. However, since it’s necessary to obtain a bond first to get an AGL quote, what would be the average cost for a bond when importing small sporting goods? And if I go ahead and buy a bond through AGL, would I be able to use the same bond with a forwarder if I end up using a forwarder and not going with AGL?
So a bond is going to be around $500 no matter how you cut it up. Whether you get it from a forwarder or Amazon themselves, therefore you will need this regardless. You wont be able to get the cost difference unless you go through the steps to get a quote from AGL and a private freight forwarder. I reccomend forest shipping though. I rarely find a better price.
You know what? I am a regular viewer of your RUclips Channel. I have seen all your videos and your content qualities are very good. I learned lots of things from you. Your channel has great quality contents but still it is not delivering its right audiences due to SEO problems. You should focus on your SEO so that You can get a big fanbase, Thanks.
Thanks! However i am not too worried about making this a huge channel, just trying to help the people who already follow the channel. Not something i want to monetize.
Question about 8:20minute mark. What if you don't have another employee and it's just yourself, you've put a 2nd employee name but what if you don't have one? the form doesn't let you continue! Great vid by the way
@@jeffgreenslade Hello sir we want to sell all our inventory from usa market and send new goods here amazon tells us that you can only order back to usa.
Either or is fine. If you are importing full container loads, your company should be IOR. However if you are Less then Container Load LCL, then you can have your forwarder be IOR more often then not.
Thank you! This was super helpful.

Yes you will be able to use the same bond regardless of the shipping company you use!
Very useful - thank you. It's hard to get a good FF - can you recommend the FF you use? Thanks
I am also looking for the one. If you get to know please let me know aswell
Forest shipping is who i have used for the last 5 years! Absolutely fantastic company! www.forestshipping.com/

When setting up your shipment using AGL, do you get a third party broker, or do you have amazon act as the broker for you?
Amazon acts as your broker in this case.

You should be fine to just put a family member or another email you have in your chamber. It is just a formality and a second point of contact!
@@jeffgreenslade Okay so it can't or shouldn't enter the same email address twice?
If we create a Global Logistics account, Amazon will deliver our inventory to the USA from the UK or deliver one order at a time.
Amazon global logistics will deliver your inventory in bulk from China to the United States fulfillment centres.

I don't understand the Bond. Do we need to pay amount first to buy a bond?
Yes you need to purchase a bond if you plan to import goods into the USA.
