- Wish I saw a video like this before going to take the test so made one hoping it'll help others.
I rode to the dmv alone with only a permit. The tester made me walk the bike to the testing area so park close to it before going in.
2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300
Taking my test in a few weeks in Fredericksburg VA. Thanks for this!
Just done mine in Charlottesville va super easy
I’m doing my test in 2 weeks how was the Fred dmv?
@@stinser1016 how was the test at Fredericksburg? I’m going on Wednesday, taking the test on my Vrod Night Rod Special
@@sol7410 I ended up taking the 2 day class with Powerride university…easiest thing ever
@@stinser1016 I took mine today at 3. I passed it. Thank you thank you. Haha. Was that class worth it?
I passed my test! But honestly, despite practicing, I almost failed because of the emergency stop. I took the test in Lynchburg (everyone was very nice there), but the length of the course was VERY short, shorter than I'd been practicing and it was difficult to get up to speed, stabilize and stop short in that length of time on my bikc (ten year old suzuki 250). All the other skills were easy.
Thanks. This is very helpful. Looks like every state is a bit different.
im taking this test later this week so this is super helpful ! thank you for the info and hope all is well !
Broke my neck. Then broke my right leg. And then broke the left. But still riding! Bikelife has been a wild ride. Ride safe. Always be aware
didnt know people commented and liked. glad this video helped :D
Hello, Do they check if I showed up by myself or if I am with a license holder? What if I go alone and failed? Do they let me ride back home?! lol.
mjshaheed if you’re taking this test you should have a permit. And I’ve never seen anyone actually care if you’re riding with another licensed rider or not. So I highly doubt they’d say anything. And if they do, you’re on a motorcycle, they wouldn’t be able to stop you from leaving if they tried.
The DMV isn’t allowed to detain you 😂 they aren’t cops.
This is helpful. Thanks for uploading.
Hi, I’m 15 years old and I live in Virginia as well; I’m really interested in motorcycles. Do you mind telling me the procedures/steps of learning how to legally use one?
Although I think it is early to plan what bike I want, I’m interested in the Kawasaki Ninja 300, is it a good beginner bike
There's a class that will teach you everything and give you a license.
OR get a learners permit for 30days then take this dmv test.
Ninja 300 / 400 is a great first bike
suzuki hayabusa 1300r is the best first bike
Cool thx I live in Virginia and couldn't get much info on it.
I'm in Virginia Beach 🌊 so IDK if it's the same but I'm sure it is
If I'm under 19 but have a driver's license in Virginia, how do I get my motorcycle license?
I'm 17 years old, live in Virginia, and have had my drivers license for over a year. I'm going to be purchasing a motorcycle and want to get on the road with it as soon as possible! The dmv website was a little confusing and I even called them and didn't get much of an answer either. If I need to get a permit after having a drivers license, and I get my motorcycle permit, can I really not go on the roads without someone assisting me by driving with me on another bike?
If that's the case and I can't be on the road by myself for 9 months, what can I do to get around that? Is there anything? I was thinking about maybe going to a neighboring state where it would be easier to get it? Less requirements? Can I even do that if I'm not a resident of the state? Please help!!!
+Dallin Nielsen u only need to hold the class m permit for 30days before you can take the road test. i always still rode alone and if i ever did get pulled over i was told to tell the cop your about to meet up with your riding group/friend and theyll let you go 90% of the time.
Cool video thank you
Think They would allow this test to be taken on a Honda Navi? since it has no gears or clutch? still classified as a motorcycle.
You’ll only be able to get a sub-250cc license. Means nothing over 250cc and no highway riding from what I gather.
@@doswoods653 In Virginia? I don't see anything on va dmv regarding sub-250 cc.
Franconia DMV! Lets ride brother!
Live a block away lets ride
+Jeegoes i actually got my first bike couple weeks ago! Ninja 300 was a friends bike i borrowed for couple months... Lets ride!
+hbh Did you ride with someone to learn (while holding the learners permit)? The DMV motorcycle manual says we have to be accompanied by another person who is 21+ and holds a motorcycle license? If memory is correct.
How am I supposed to do this when I don't know anyone with such a thing! lol! I don't have a motorcycle yet, but I might have to just go for a training course that gives the license if I pass at the end...
@@Harpazo_to_Yeshua Virginia is dumb that way. Makes no sense. And if you get caught riding alone in a permit and the cop wants to be a @%*# it’s the same as if driving a car on a permit with no licensed passenger…Permit gone. Can even impound if they really want to.
Thanks! This is really helpful. For the cone weave and u-turn do you keep it in first, or drive in second? I have been practicing this in first gear.
Pretty sure I kept it in first. That’s what I would do now. First gear, steady on the throttle, and use the rear brake to adjust speeds
@@handa2373 Thanks! Two weeks before I take the test! Fingers crossed.
this is very helpful. i plan on getting my license in a few months. any suggestions for sport bikes for a big guy?
+peoplesuck25 if you can drive stick comfortably i think youll be fine with a 600 but honestly even tho i rode dirt bikes before i learned so much off this 300. i wouldnt have learned as much or gotten comfortable as fast on a 600.
Great video man really helpful.. Witch county in Virginia is that dmv located
+Chuckz8180 Fairfax
Witch County. Scary place.🏍
Springfield dmv location?
Is this Arlington Virginia because I'm not that old yet ... But I'm hoping to buy a motor cycle when I'm at the right age and This test seems pretty easy
Been practicing on line??lol
Hey if you are over the age of 19, Do you still have to be supervised while riding with a permit or not? I Thanks again. By the way i do live in Virginia.
+Miguel .Giron Reading the manual, it didn't specify if memory is correct. So, if I were to assume, I think anyone at any age must be supervised by someone who is 21+ and has a motorcycle license. I don't know how this is going to be possible for me since I don't know anyone with such a thing. Kind of silly. As I said to another, I might have to just take a training course to get my license, which I don't mind I guess, as I do like training, but still would like to practice alone sometimes...
How far apart do you think those cones are ?🚲
12 ft apart with 2 ft offset on every other cone.
@@doswoods653 🏍️ Knew if i waited a few years i'd get an answer. 📡
Damn, that motorcycle looks cool.
Nice pfp Chief
So is it the same for a three wheeled bike? I'm debating on getting a can am in the near future.
No idea. I only checked marked the box for 2 wheel only
did you show up to your test alone?
yes they had me walk my bike from the parking lot to the test lot
So that the entire riding test?
And as far as the exam goes, can you review that in the comments? I need to get this license asap.
Multiple choice permit test is pretty simple. take your time and read through all the choices. i believe it was 25 questions. and yes this is the whole license test
