- This is one of a series of videos where I cover concepts relating to digital electronics. In this video I talk about Mealy and Moore state machines and how to draw their state diagrams and state tables.
seriously man thank you for putting this out there. im a second year college comp. eng. student and you are saving my life.
I'm not so sure where there are a bunch of dislikes, but this was the most helpful series of videos I found on the subject. If I can go somewhere to get more material, I will come here again. :) Thanks
I dont get how this would be considered a bad lecture. This was the only run through I could actually follow. I watched through the whole thing twice and subscribed
Better than my teacher's. Certainly better than all those hindi videos on youtube.
Hey buddy, Please help me out with this question..! What does Arc/Arrow pointer in Mealy machine state diagram signify?
This actually helped me understand the basics of state machines better but damn that turkey was dry. Serve it up with sauvignon blanc and lemons.
This presentation was great, I understood everything after watching it twice! I think it'd be even better if you provided a little analogy before you went into the explanation and likened the State Machines to your analogy so others could grasp the concept better. Other than that, this was spot on and I enjoyed the video. Thanks! Keep up the awesome work!
Great video if one is reviewing, but you breezed passed the state tables for both Mealy and Moore. If you could, explain in great detail what each column meant and how the output relates. Thanks.
Hi! I have a question, can all truth tables be represented as an FSM (either mealy or moore)? Like, for example, can a full adder truth table, or even an AND gate truth table be represented in mealy or moore FSM? Are state diagrams only applicable to circuits that follow a sequence, like a counter? I really hope you could answer this for me, it would really help a lot. I need it for my undergrad thesis.
such a cool idea
Thank you , it really helps .
I once tried to read an old text on this subject, and it refused to make this point clear in its diagrams, it was very frustrating. That's the problem with "old texts", including religious ones: they are not necessarily better or clearer merely because they existed when their "subject" was being founded.
where did he get the numbers from? is it always like that? or is it just an example?
i dont get it. he´s making no comments about where the ones and zeros come from
Those outputs were randomly chosen. Actually you have to choose the machine output according the problem you are solving. That's why we can make a lot of things with them. ; )
tofutea LOL it was very simple... YOU just didn't pay attention
tofutea these are digital machines, variable (look at bolean algebra) can only be 1 and 0. Automats are advanced topic, you should first look at simpler topics like digital and analog systems, boolean functions, veitch diagrams. There are many good books on this topic
Is there a mistake at 5:08? If there is a 0 in then there should be a 1 out according the the prior chart.
Is he writing backwards?
No, he just mirrored the video. Seems crazy, watching at first.
@@bcdcool94 I thought he writes backwards, that's why he does it slowly. If you're right then he just writes slowly. And you're right, otherwise he is wearing female shirt. Poor guy, anyway.
what is the sequences you r workn on ?!
When you draw the state table, there are 4 states (A,B,C,D). But when you draw the state diagram, there are only 2 (A,B). Why?
Thanks... THAT WAS ACTUALLY helpful
Nice name
@@ornessarhithfaeron3576 thanks man its arabic ...and actually I'm a graduate now ...damn that comment was 2 years ago ? Wow
wow. good video.
can you provide more infor about Mealy and Moore ?
thanx
Thanks so much :)
Very helpful .. Thx
Thanks for the video
Awesome easy to understand
So yeah, I second the breeze-by explaining of the concepts behind it. Definitely helped however. Watch and pause as you go. Helps. Also, just, in practicality purposes, just when is one required to do such tasks as this? I'm guessing this is a simple set of examples. What happens when these grow to huge sizes? Like... say something inside a control system for a car?
So damn confusng
Thanks
how do u if its mealy or mooe
Doctor Who, is that you?
Finally someone else agrees. ;')
awesome, thanks a lot
Here I am watching this video...then after a minute...WTF - HE JUST DREW ON MY SCREEN! HE'S A WIZARD!
Thankyou
this is helpful
Superb
Thank you very much for the informative video. I had some issues to differentiate the two, but after the video, not anymore :D
Nice video, thanks. A suggestion, you're wasting 2/3 of your screen realestate by standing in the middle and drawing tiny diagrams on right. Im not sure what the focus is, the diagrams or you lol
I sleeped while watching your lecture
Wtf.. He's writing backwards? InstaLike.
+Hasmit Uchil You're funny.
Or he's actually right handed and simply just flipped the image.
+Dag Isaksson watch the confusion in his face while reading his own flipped writing xD
+kalyan garikapati He most likely flips the image. His shirt pocket is on the wrong side on every video. Usually pocket is on your left, so we should be seeing it on our right when viewing the video.
+Yazen Alzaghameem cooooooool....😎
What are you guyz talkin about...This guy explained it greatly. You just need to pay a little bit more attention.
you look like Qaem, Nice zelf man
Had not given thumbs up for this Video . Thx. Best Videos around in my opinion
Am I the only one trying to guess how big the glass screen is ? and I bet he's using a microphone... OK, was only trying to say nice vid i guess :P
Kraftwerk?
+BanColPan Especially the theme of the outro.
whats up jack the vacuum thing is stupid you should use a magnet it would be way cooler
Shows Baphomet sign at 3:21 illuminati confirmed haha
its confusing and the difference between Moore and Mealy in the examples are not clear!!!
he wasn't sure about what was he doing
hard to understand
Just a piece of advice. Watching someone take a minute to write something that they said on the board everytime is abit frustrating. Thanks for the video though.
Shagas Heizenberg You can speed the video up using youtube's built in fast forward controls. Some people prefer watching him write it out as he's doing it so they can see his thought process go to the board in real time.
why is this guy writing on my screen
not bad , but its little confusing ...!!! could have been done better !!!....
god i hate that marker sound
Thanks for your effort in the explanation, though you are a bad teacher.
hot damn
Should rename your channel for confusing Digital electronics ( sorry it is just a feedback )
