Q and Q's complement are the most common designations used for a FF's outputs. From time to time, we will use other designations such as X / X's complement and A / A's complement for convenience in identifying different FF's in a logic circuit.
This is off topic. I am just curious how you made this video. Were you writing on glass in front of you ? If such is the case, then how could you write with your left hand from right to left with the proper orientation of the text ? But i guess you did a processing on your video coz you are using the hand opposite the one at the side of the breastpocket, and since normally, breast pocket is on the left (with respect to the person wearing the shirt), then you must be writing with your right.
Would it be safe to say that an *SR latch* is never used in practice? It appears that the *D latch* is basically designed to be a safe replacement for it. Why would anyone use a latch that could potentially go into an unstable state?
Is this applicable if for instance, When the S is high, one of the output will be true and will remain true even if the S is already low unless the enable will be 1 then that is only the time when the output will be 0
please do never take these videos down, they're so great, AND YOU ARE GREAT. These help so much! THANK U
I love the tutorial and I'm in love with the lecturer but his squeaky pen is driving me nuts. 😂
What is this, are you writing on my screen or you writing on the camera screen?
Man, you're the best, thanks a million!
Thank you !!!! I finally got some idea what a latch is.... thank you.
Even if you're not following the sequence, Latches, is a Whole New Thing!

Thank you so much. This explains so much.
Thank you so much Steve Zahn
Good call. Thanks. I have put some annotations over top of what I wrote. I probably would have caught that if the alarm hadn't gone off.
Thank you for your videos!!!!!
Very helpful. Thank you
Really helpful! :D thanks a lot.

Perhaps the Q stands for 'Quiescent'; state of inactivity or dormancy?

@@aidangardner6538 Haha 6 year check-in, thank you brother for these videos, helped me through my undergrad!
sorry but i think there is a problem at second 7:26
you have said before that (Q) will be in front of (S`)
but you have written (Q`) instead
the q and q'
I believe that you made a mistake at 7.29. Q and Q bar must be changed in that circuit because your truth table does not match.
I feel like a total idiot for not knowing this sooner.
Q and teh bar is not q.
