The main incident occurred PRIOR to the start of this video. That's why it looks inconclusive, whereas Atzeni actually forced his way out of a pocket and created a gap where there was none at the expense of the second. After that the subsequent barging was 50/50.
I didn't play on the race but do think they both caused eachother interference so the result should of stood. More amazing for me is the fact that the stewards actually amended a result!. On what I see in this country, you literally have to take a chain saw to a challenging horse to get a result reversed.
Here lies the route of all problems. Atzeni had nowhere to go and barges his way out. If he avoids interference he would need to drop behind and come back around. He is held in because it’s called race riding and how this horse got it on appeal opened the door for all jockeys to bump their way out of a bad situation. Great riding by the Irish jockey!!
Atzeni lost the race in the steward's room, as the situation got the better of him, needles to say the result got overturned. What is to be remembered is that he went into the stalls of the next race with still tears still in his eyes and rode dead last to first, and won, no celebration, in a race worth comparatively nothing. Class, then, that.
The jockey on bondi beach clearly knew he had no chance of winning the race! He ment to keep simple verse in! And the stewards need to pull there finger out and sort out there mistake!! Hopefully they do!!
Bondi beach was laying in on her for 1/2 a furlong and the jockey never once stopped riding to correct it.... Simple verse is very hard done by maybe because coolmore basically keep English racing alive and it being a G1 classic and Bondi beach being a colt swayed the stewards minds disgraceful it was upheld
This surely will not be reversed, it is about time the Stewards of the BHA recognized that if you take a horse off a true line (twice) and only beaten a neck! there is no argument for appeal. Colm made it clear in his analysis bumped winded and his horse was still trying at the line. A big powerful filly with a great engine Andrea Atzeni made that decision to burst his way out on the filly to win a race. As for if there was another lap comment the race has its distance and you knew where the winning post was hence your menouvering. Pocket change for Sheikh Fahad perhaps....
I know exactly why the stewards made their decision. Before this race bondi beach was in a stewards enquiry with sea the stars who literally dragged him the whole way across the track beating him by half a lenght. They let the result stand. As you can see here bondi beach was clearly the better horse than see the stars showing us and the stewards that they made the wrong decision last time. I think the pressure was on the stewards the fact that bondi beach had been interfered with again, and only beat by a head.
nichola thompson l feel your pain as l do 99% of my betting on the exchanges. These days its rare for a horse to be disqualified but a real pain when it happens to be one you backed. Nowadays when l back something on the exchange l include a lay bet in-running as a form of insurance. Let's say l back a horse at odds 6.0 for £10. l stand to win £50 if it wins. When l place the win bet l also place a lay bet against the horse say for £20 at odds 1.5 and update it to a 'keep' bet. This means if it runs really well and drops to odds 1.5 my lay bet will be taken and I'm guaranteed at least a £10 profit even if the horse gets beat. Of course you lose £10 from your winnings. However you'll be surprised at how many times doing this saves your bacon when your horse is clear at the last and falls or gets pipped on the line.
Atzeni poor ride. How he got this on appeal is a joke!! Great race riding by o donoghue. The only way he could avoid contact is by pulling back and then coming back around bondi. He barges himself out and now it's OK to bump horses!! Joke decision
What on earth was you watching bondi beach was leaning into simple verse affecting the balance atzeni who is a good jovkey did the right thing simple verse should have kept the race

Having watched the replay quite a few times I really think it was 50-50 and Special Verse should have kept the race.

Can anyone understand a word of this? They jockeys are just mumbling the whole time and it is almost unintelligible
Stewards had cash on other horse obviously
