OMG!! I'm in love!! I soooo enjoyed watching this video. Your candles are beautiful. Ok we so need a video tutorial on how you create such such beautiful labels. Thank You for sharing this video with us! ❣️
Hi S Jackson! Thank you so much for your comment and a warm welcome to our RUclips candle fam. I’ll absolutely add this to my list of future videos. Love and light always 💛🌱
Fueled by candles, Allen :) I liked seeing your in-progress but very charming home. Feel like I'm getting to know you! I'm impressed that you do candles, remodel a home and are a student too! 464 is one of the waxes I use also. I like in in 3" diameter jars because it produces a good melt pool while other waxes struggle to melt in a 3" jar with a single wick. I've noticed that 464 can be inconsistent from batch to batch, tho. For some reason I just like it anyway... poor thing has so many haters! Tip: try adding coffee scent to caramel popcorn FO. I add a little Aztec Brazilian coffee and it smells like a latte.
🙌🙌🙌💛🌱Hi Cheryl!!! Thank you so much for your comment and kind words. I am delighted that you enjoyed my video-it is enjoyable for me to do these with you all I think because I feel like we are all making candles together. I haven’t noticed 464 to be inconsistent batch to batch but I’ve always ordered from Flaming Candle and their reviews seem to be better in general on this wax so maybe that is why or maybe I’ve just gotten lucky. I think inconsistency with 464 is something I’ve heard a lot of people talk about unfortunately!!! What a lovely idea to add a coffee fragrance to Caramel Popcorn-I will have to try Aztec’s Brazilian Coffee. That sounds just divine. Thank you for sharing your idea. Love and light to you always, Cheryl 💛🌱
OMG!! So gorgeous!!! Thank you so much for taking the time share you knowledge with the world. You make such amazing candles. Where do you get your crystals from, if you don't mind me asking?
Hi Allen, Enjoyed you making such beautiful candles. I love you Whimsical, High End Website🌹. It is so different from any other I've seen. The names of your Candle lines and Candles are truly Brilliant and so Unique. Thank you and I watched to the end🙂☺️ PeAcE
Hi Val!! Aww thank you so much-I am just learning how to do the website still. I mostly have sold my candles in Instagram livestream videos so there’s still a lot of photography I need to do and get on there but I appreciate your kind words so much. Love and light to you always 💛🌱
Hi Queen Mother Ade Precious! Thank you so much for your comment. If you think it would be helpful I am happy to do a video on how I design and print my labels!! Love and light 💛🌱
Hi Allen, You have a soothing voice. so relaxing. I have a question, how do you manage to pour fragrance oil from large cans to small measuring cups. Do you use a dispenser? Everyday I make huge mess 😊😊😊
Hi Ivoni! Thank you so much for your comment and a warm welcome to our RUclips candle fam!! I would recommend using a chopstick and basically butting that up to the top of your fragrance oil bottle and pouring down your chopstick. This doesn’t completely eliminate spills but it certainly minimizes them!!! Let me know if this makes sense, OK? Usually in any of my videos where I am making candles you can see me doing this. Love and light always 💛🌱
Fueled by candles 🌟 love the realness. Agreed. Life IS a work in progress. Fragrance oil tour would be awesome. Sorta like a sneak peek a scent wizards apothecary
Fueled by candles. Your candles are so beautiful thank you always for showing your candle making……….As far as your recipes when your mixing the fragrances what are the actual ounces you use ?
Hi Vanessa! Thank you so much for your comment. The ounces I use depends on the batch size and fragrances involved but the most common for me is 50 oz soy (fills one of the standard 4 lb pouring pitchers) and a total of 4.8 oz fragrance oil, so just under 10%. Hope this helps!! Love and light always 🌱💛
No need to apologize for your kitchen in progress project. Positive change is a good thing - like life. Candle making is a hobby of mine. I find it a very soothing and tranquil activity. I give them to friends and family. Just started experimenting with adding shimmery mica ( so pretty). Your crystal addition to candles is super pretty. Do they migrate toward the wick in full melt pool?
Hi Sassy NYC! You are so kind. Thank you for your comment. The crystals on these 464 tins don’t tend to migrate as much toward the wick as most of the other vessels I’ve tried with crystals but when they do, they do not seem to cause issues with burn or candle performance. Love and light always 💛🌱
Another wonderful video. Before I know it the show is over. Do you mind sharing what type of printer you use to print your colored labels? I am looking to purchase a new printer. Good Luck with your kitchen renovations.
Hi Paula! I’m delighted you enjoyed this video. Thank you very much for your kind words! I am happy to share my printer model with you. I use the HP Envy 6000 and you can find it pretty much anywhere (Best Buy is actually where I got mine if I remember right). This printer works well for me because I am after image quality full-picture illustrations for many of my candle labels and it does an excellent job at it. I bought an HP ink plan and this helps me to save a fortune on all the ink since the plan is by the page and they automatically send you ink whenever you’re low. I hate monthly subscriptions but this one I could easily justify by the yearly savings even if I scarcely used it. Let me know if a more detailed video might help on the settings I use and how I design the labels and get the photos on them. Love and light always 💛🌱
Thanks! It sounds like a worthwhile investment to secure the monthly subscription in this circumstance. I’m glad you mentioned it. I will definitely check out that printer. Enjoy your evening!
Hi Na Trell!!! Thank you so much for always being here and for being a part of my RUclips candle family. I’m honored to have you! I am still testing the cement vessels and I’ve never made a full batch of a scent in them yet because I am still working on wicking with those. I will absolutely add the matte black ones with the gold electroplating (my larger jars that I make) to my future videos list though for a detailed video!! Love and light always💛🌱
Great video Allen! Did/do you mix your waxes (464, coconut, beeswax) in the digiboil Or is it straight 464? I'm experimenting with a blend of 464, coconut and beeswax and would love to know if you recommended any ratios per each wax. I've made many candles with just straight 464 and didn't really like the "cottage cheese" tops after they burn. Also, love the kitchen/candle studio setup - love the design.
Hi Gage6299!! Thank you so much for your comment and congratulations on your candles and your openness to experimenting with blends. These candles were 100% Golden Brands 464 soy but I do make a blend of beeswax, soy, and coco crème as well-I’ll try to include the link below to my full recipe. I totally understand where you’re coming from with not liking the 464 tops! Love and light always and a warm welcome to our RUclips candle fam 💛🌱
Hey Allen omg I love your channel I have so many questions but I’m only gonna ask a few my first question is how much FO do u add to your wax and do measure in oz or g? My next question is where do you get the gems from like that I need them I have ones that are a lil to big and I’m struggling to find the small ones plz help!! I’m very new to the candle scene so I’m trying to soak in all the info I can do if u have any advice please feel free to share. P.S The digi boil is awesome hopefully I can get one soon!!! 😊
Hi Bella!! Thank you for your comment. I typically add 10% fragrance oil to my candles and I do use ounces because I typically make big batches and it’s just easier for me. The little crystals I usually find at gem shows (I am a crystal enthusiast and seller as well) but I think you could certainly purchase them on Etsy or Facebook too, love and light always 💛🌱
