I believe it is Russian roulette injecting that dangerous toxin so close to the brain but barely anyone cares to listen, think about it, full brain function verses a couple of wrinkles, I know which one I’d choose. Thank you so much for your comment it’s so refreshing to see someone warning about botox🙌🏻 may i ask you what kind of neurological problems did you experience?
My Mum had Botox for migraines arranged through her doctor - she has hooded eyes and with the Botox her eyelids dropped so much she couldn’t see properly until the Botox wore off. She was told it had been done wrong and trusted another Botox professional to try again but the same thing happened again. So I’m scared to have it done as I have hooded eyes too.
One of the most satisfying places that I’ve had Botox/Dysport done in was the areas/muscles that pull your lips down... that made such a remarkable difference- however, often times you have to go back to have it tweaked because everyone’s smile is different and mine is a little crooked anyway, so, it was necessary to go back to even out both sides of my mouth.
It worries me that it’s so easy to be able to do Botox. Now at a lot of salons they offer the treatment but don’t necessarily have the training and knowledge.
This explains the scary look that some people have. 🤨. This fear has kept me from using it. Now, I will reconsider, as I know it could help my 11’s❤️❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Thank You.
maybe if u do very very little at a time ... i mean idk havent done anything to myself either im 29 i have some fine lines not deep wrinkles yet and kinda wanna start but scared too :/
"what researchers know so far is that over time, Botox will lead to decreased muscle mass in your face, which can cause not just loss of volume. But also sagging skin. And yes, that will make you look older. Another concern is that prolonged use of Botox may cause thinning of your skin. Which also will have a negative impact on your skin’s appearance and youthfulness...." www.ayoungerskin.com/botox/
I am 62 and have never had Botox or anything else done. I have heard that with prolonged use it will decrease the muscle mass in your face. I think it would be a good idea at your age to learn how to limit expressions.
@@annanna1159, thank you for this link. I am wondering whether Botox use will be similar to cigarette use in the 50's and 60's. Doctors were recommending cigarettes and everyone was doing it. I guess time will tell in 20-30 years.
Thank you for sharing so much knowledge with us. I recently found your podcast and thoroughly enjoy listening to all of them. I only wish you had more.....You are so informative and I have gained so much knowledge of different things and have even taken advantage of some of the resources from guests you have had on your podcasts. I can't thank you enough....
I wish I could show a pic of my now completely lopsided face- one eyebrow goes way up with a bulging eye, and the other is almost half closed with zero brow movement. This is my second time and I was so happy with the first one. Restrictions just lifted here and now I'm stuck at home again for 3 months. There is no way on earth I will go back for 'adjustments'. It was just supposed to be for one single line between the brows. Currently growing my bangs and have an eyepatch for when I must go out. And yes, this was $450 from a 'real' doctor at a dermatology clinic.
I started my botox and fillers journey at the age of 31, when I noticed obvious hollowness of my eyes in pictures one day. I've never turned back since hehehe XD
Heather Cox , many people have become sick from botox after thefirst injection like myself , to people whom have done it for years then one day it all goes to hell. I would suggestbto anyone to join the Botox/Dysport support group on face book. The stories on there will be enough to change your mind. Im very healthy and at 46 decided to do Dysport to my 11s.That was 7 months ago and my whole body has been effected ever since, i pray that in time my whole body weakness, fatigue , constant bloated stomach , head pressure , face pressure , heavy chest and anxiety all dissappear 😧Never ever had any of these symtoms in all my life - all this for 40 units of Dysport.

I remember reading one mans storry on botox support community. He had botox to treat spaasms on his arm so he could continue playing drums in his band. Soon after he devoloped pretty bad anxiety, he is to scared to hop in his car now and drive. He said that is so not him, he has never been scared of anything in his life.It broke my heart when he mentioned that he did not know how he would live like that if it didnt go away. Its ok for the doctor that convinced him to do it, he got his money, now this poor man is suffering from anxiety, will his doctor be there to help him through this now? Love Botox but believe the industry needs to bring the cost down on it and fillers, there are those of us who NEED an actual facelift but cannot afford it, Ever...I personally have had my face drop from Mohs surgery’s and Botox works beautifully to an extent, but to an extent that makes me feel like I’m not a freak, but still can’t afford the $650 per when I need 3 or 4 at once..sad. But yes I do love it, I would give up food for it if it was just up to me.
I clench my teeth when I sleep, and I noticed my jawline getting bigger slowly after I began working full time. I started jawline botox at 25 and now I'm 27, I've been going back every 4ish months to top up and I've had great results. I am pretty weary of the long terms effects though and I wish we had more research on it :(
So glad you commented your experience. I'll be 25 in a few months and have been clenching my teeth for I dont even know how long. Really have been considering botox for my jawline and to protect my teeth from further damage from grinding
Definitely try a mouth guard. I clench my jaw as well. I have mild TMJ it used to be very painful especially when I'm stressed. I've found facial massage can be extremely helpful as well as cold and sometimes hot compresses near the jaw muscles. I hope that helps.
I want to share my first xeomin experience. Hoping this might help others. Firstly, I have some allergies that cause atopic dermatitis mainly preservatives formaldehyde and common derivatives such as MDMD and EDTA, Quaternium 15 etc let me tell you it’s in everything which is why i made sure with my injector the xeomin didn’t have anything I was allergic to in it after multiple consultations it’s very pure and doesn’t have a lot of additives which is better for people with allergies. I did the Injections all went well with literally no swelling, marking or reactions on my face, no other symptoms or side effects maybe slight head ache but now…. I have a rash only on my inner forearms, chest, abdomen, front legs… my injector who had been doing it for 15 years and is a nurse practitioner said Botox allergy you would see it at the injection site most commonly and this type of reaction is not usually reported. I took to the internet snd I actually can’t find anything on this, once again I have NO allergy where it was injected but have this rash now. Dr, have you had other clients that this has happened to? Do you regularly do patch tests on clients with a history of dermatitis to make sure they are not allergic? Just wondering if this is something done normally. My injector should report this are licensed practitioners obligated to report adverse reactions? Does this mean I can never do this again? Are my Botox days over before they even began… gahhhhhh
Hi Dr. Youn I so wish you lived in Atlanta! 🤗. I have been switching between Botox and Jeuveau hoping to find the right amount of units to be injected to achieve a brow lift without undergoing a brow lift surgery. I feel Dr's I go to in my home town do not put enough (I think they may be too conservative) But I don't know what enough is. What are too many units to do the glabella and crow's feet to achieve the brow lift? BTW I do not have a natural arch in my brow and my age is 61. Thank you and I love your videos. I've learned so much!
Hi Dr. Youn! 🤗 Botox weakens and paralyze muscles so I sometimes see being used on jawline, calves and such so the areas get narrower, less defined. I’m 45 so I’m really interested in getting Botox on my face but I’m concerned that over LOOOOONG time of use, skin on my face will sag because the muscles are weakened and paralyzed and the same effect on jawline and calves will happen on face too? I really enjoy your posts and love your positive energy! Thank you! Rina from Tokyo 😊
But I bet ur beautiful no one needs this because god made us how we are, plus ur wasting 200 dollars for what? 3 or 4 months it’s a waste, use your money wisely beauty ❤️💕
Can you please discuss the studies showing botox causes bone loss? I know the human study was small, short-term, and related to the masseter and jawbones, but I'd love to hear your thoughts especially regarding botox in other common facial areas.
I just turned 30. Had the worst Mr. Bean forehead lines. I'm talking a wave pool on my forehead. I got 18 units in the forehead, and 3 per crows (For prevention). Couldn't be happier. Wish I had done it sooner. What's the point of being on tretinoin and using all the right actives? They can't undo those kind of lines. If you start younger-ish, it's preventative. You're not constantly making your skin fold in on itself. I've had haircuts that were more painful.
Dr. Anthony Youn I am in Australia but have a US address so am going to order ... I assume for my crinkly 50 year old usher eyes the retinol eye cream is the one ? Can it be used in conjunction with the brightening one ? Kind regards and thank you for your advice 🙏🏻
I grind my teeth and have some muscle pain/soreness. I have a night guard from my dentist and have tried other massages/exercises but could botox help with that jaw/muscle pain?
Hello. Dr. Youn, love your channel. After watching your video. I am considered to get either cool sculpting or sculpsure. Which one is better? And does your clinic have both ? Thank you!
The first time I saw her pictures when she's already famous, without seeing her pre-debut photos, I could just tell that this girl had had a nose job, 100%, by how it was shaped, especially the tip of the nose being thicker and shorter than the actual tip of her nose. I grew up in an Asian country where lots of people have their noses done, so I can pretty much tell right away by how it looks. But nowadays there are new technologies and methods to make them look more natural and that makes it a bit harder to detect. Regardless, she is very cute and pretty.
Dr. Young, can someone have botox 2-3 times a year starting in their early 40ies for life? is there a scientific evidence of what happens in the long term (in 15 -20 years) when when you keep on paralyzing these muscles over and over again ? Can these muscles be permanently paralyzed or disabled after having injected them 20 or 30 times ? Thank you so much for sharing your experience and knowledge !
This is one of my suggestion for me Dr. Youn of my one of my Doctor friend but my Neurologist didn’t suggest it to me maybe because of my age or I don’t really know Dr.Youn why?! I have Chronic Migraine and I had hemorrhage stroke most of the migraine medication I cannot take because of my history. Every time it triggers I always run to the Hospital to check it might be another stroke again because that was my symptoms when I had stroke in the past. This is really very helpful Dr. Youn!!

Thank you Dr. Youn, question about Botox for wide jaw. Could injecting those strong jaw muscles with botox help with TMJ? I've dealt with this for many years and am wondering if Botox could help.
What happens with the botox injected in the body after some time, say the time it takes for a new injection. In my case i want them in my chin, what happens when its time for a new injection, where does the old botox go, i mean do you pee them out of your system or do they even go out the system? Do they build up there in the body some where????? Thank you, appreciate your answer. 🙏
Hi Dr. Youn. In my 30’s I did Botox but when my father got ALS I learned that if I have the ALS is in my body it’s best if I don’t use Botox, Because it could bring ALS out faster. So I quickly stopped using it. I miss it so bad🙄
Dear Dr. Youn Last time I wanted to get Botox, I had strange skin reaction after the injection and my dermatologist, didn‘t want me to have Botox again. The skin on my forehad turned white and she kept warming it up with hot cloths until the white reaction desappeared. Do you know what could cause such a reaction.
It lasted about 3 months...and the cost was $250. But these days it is around $600 I believe 😬. It feels weird when you smile because the upper part of your face is stiff. Most people who have Botox just grin because if you smile big...your lines come back faster 😬
What are your thoughts on Microtox/Mesotox? I’ve discovered this recently and I’m curious about its application for lines under the eyes. Would you suggest only using fillers to improve the under eye area?
I'm about to get my first botox injection in a few days. But I'm getting more and more anxious about it because my research showed that there are a lot of people who had negative side effects like panic attacks and anxiety. And I also red about people who said they got really sick...I don't know what to do.
I got Botox because of chronic migraine and I have the issue of an overarching eyebrow. Is there a way I can talk to my doctor respectfully to ask how to fix it?
Hi Dr Youn! I love watching your videos and learning from you. I have tried Botox, Newtox and Dysport, and none of them worked for my frown lines (glabellar lines). Those toxins work on the other parts of my face - the horizontal lines on my forehead and the crow's feet... but I'm not concerned about those areas. I just want the globular lines to go away. It seems that nothing works. Can you advise? Thank you!! Julia
When I had Botox on my 11's and forehead 16yrs ago, well then I Notice shortness of breath but didnt think much of it. Then by the hrs got worse by the Next day I was at doctors office then E.R
Thank God finally I speak to Someone that can relate to me 😁🙋♀️ I even got panic attacks with botox which I never had. They went away , Till 8/7/2015 when I used a FDA approved home facial laser device to build your own collagen . Well that almost killed me too 😁🙋♀️ So I'm done , nothing for me no more.
Laura may I had Dysport done about 4 different times, and then the next time I had it done several weeks later I had severe muscle weakness and pain. Finally went to my doctor tested for many things along w/ RA. All came back fine. I then started doing research and I know it was from the Dysport. I had awful right shoulder pain as well. I’m better now, but took months to recover, never again!
@@lisa9916 i had 40 units of Dysport last September and still have side effects up till now.Its slowely starting to get better but i had constant aching/weak feeling in my legs , shoulders and arms and atight feeling in my neck. After the first month even brushing my teeth caused muscle soreness.Funny how being injected into frown lines can affect the rest of your body. I used to be able to do boot camp work outs, not any more. A 20 min walk everynight with my dog and im wiped ! Its pretty obvious that these pruducts escape and circulate around your body.
Maria W I find that I’m not alone in a comforting kind of way, even though like yourself and others I wouldn’t ever want them to go through what we have! My symptoms didn’t start until after me having Dysport injections for a few years. One morning I woke up and this was probably 3 months after having my last Dysport, and I felt like the “Tin man” from The Wizard of Oz. I could hardly get my fingers and hands to open up they were sooooo stiff and sore. I had such muscle weakness it was an effort for me to do many things like we do every day such as just to get dressed! My fingers and hands felt so sore and I had burning in them too! I finally went to my general doc, and he did many tests which all came back fine. He told me he thought I must’ve had an infection that went to my joints. Along w/ all this I also had such panicky feelings, like I couldn’t feel relaxed and I also had hear palps. I wasn’t thinking it was from the Dysport yet, so I then went back for my injections with Dysport and a week later I was so stiff again only this time it was in my back, and right shoulder that hurt soooo bad I couldn’t hardly use it for 2 weeks! Then I started doing lots of research, and that’s when I realized it was from doing Dysport! It took about 6 months to gain all my strength back so scary! Never again!!!!
@Lil Smiley it’s not shit. It’s her experience. Would you like if I said that your disease is shit lil smiley? She was answering to someone else so she wasn’t spamming or copying and pasting the same comment, was she? And tbh, everyone interested in Botox should hear about her experience and others, because the injectors downplay side effects or don’t even know themselves about all the side effects of it. So I don’t know why you have to answer this way about someone that shared her story about being sick and nearly dying from these procedures. You’re either very rude or tbh not very intelligent sorry. Only awful ppl say nasty things in the face of ppl’s illnesses, sickness, disabilities etc.
I just had it done for the first time this week and my eyebrows are now crazy looking. Huge arch, I'm so angry about it. I only wanted my eleven lines fixed and she was well aware of it and I seriously have no wrinkles on my whole forehead.
It was 3 months for my first 'good' treatment to wear off so I guess I'm at home now for another 3 months. Can't get a refund but they offered to 'adjust'. Do they really think a person would go back for more??
Hi Dr Youn can botox be used under eye? i squint a lot and have noticed the skin under my eyes crease which i don't like . Otherwise what procedure is best ?
Hi Dr. I have a question, can I get botox while on antibiotics (Macrobid) the esthetician told me is not recommended but, I want to make sure if is true. 😃😊🤔
I expect you have resolved your issue by now but I just wanted to add my two cents….why would getting Botox be so urgent that you couldn’t wait to finish taking the antibiotic? Unless you were on long term antibiotics in which case it’s different. Do you know that antibiotics wipe out all bacterias, good and bad, and by eliminating the good ones they weaken the immune system for a period until the system is restored? Therefore I would imagine that it’s not recommended to have Botox which is a toxin, and any poison in the body causes the immune system to work, during antibiotics and cautiously wait for few months afterwards until everything in your system is in balance again. Antibiotics are normally taken for 5/6 days depending on type. Did you know that when infection doesn’t clear up in those days and doctors prescribe a second week of antibiotics, that can bring up depression to ppl. All because of the good bacteria being killed. However, I did write this because I think ppl buy into these treatments too lightly without thinking about what it can happen. And a lot of ppl don’t use common sense. And in your case, I may be wrong, you were impatient to have the treatment that you would have preferred to not reschedule it until you were off the antibiotics. And it’s a known fact that the younger generations of today have short attention span and are impatient, they want everything now, instant self gratification (thanks primarily to social media, TikTok, etc..not me saying it) and so if that’s the case with you too, this is something worth thinking about. If I’m wrong I apologise I don’t mean to be on your case, it was just an observation after reading your comment
I had Botox 6 months ago and near every day in the morning when i wake up i have a small line in one or both sides near the eyebrows in direction when the Botox was injected why this happen and will this came better or worst if I don’t do it more?
Dr youn, is it possible and or common for some women do you require more neurotoxin then others? Specifically in the elevens or upper lip. Do some women have stronger muscles in those areas?
Hi Dr. Anthony, Is it true if we only inject Botox in the crow’s feet area it weakens the muscles over time and in the long run, it could result in a droopy lower eye lid!
I didn't want mine lifted, only wanted my '11' lines taken care of and it looks like I had a total brow lift. And not really in a good way because I have arched brows.
@@jenniferbarnhill6701 At least both of yours lifted- I now have one shooting way up, but at least it moves. The other one is frozen and doesn't move at all. :(
I‘m getting so bored with people who botox away their full range of facial expressions. I don‘t mind mind getting wrinkly. I try to do some facial excercise, but I would never do anything invasive.
That’s an intelligent question! Shame that nobody talks about the real issues and the real info that ppl need to know. Everyone is so shallow. I’m not a doctor but I would assume that any toxin has an effect on the immune system, by logic and common sense. However, I also believe that manufacturers and some doctors would downplay side effects because the procedure is so widespread and easily accessible that you would struggle to find exact info about it. And if you find studies on the subject you would have to look into who funded the study, reviewed it and publish it. Biases and money. I hope you do find the info you need and I wish ppl didn’t take these things so lightly. Everyone is so hyped about improving wrinkles and nobody thinks about the complications

The day you get injected, no exercise, no lying down for a number of hours. Beforehand we also recommend patients stop blood thinners and some other minor meds.
From personal experience... avoid irritating your skin before and after. Like for example dont exfoliate the night before and hold off a few days, avoid sunburn or any products that are potentially irritating, etc. I was told to just wash w cold water for the first 24 hrs.

Wow Im ready Thank you for your time and information I really do appreciate this "Your The Best" Dr Youn 💖💖💖💖
Thank u for the information😍
Do you regret it?
Only only only go to a plastic surgeon for this or the PA plastic surgeon at the office. No nurses , dentists…plastic surgeon only
Do they even know any side effects for long term usage of botox?
@@MarieW_w4724 that's what I thought since studies were never done on long term or short term. I never used the stuff too scared ..but deep down knew there had to be problems with any injection fillers whether first time use or 5 year use that no one tells you about...I myself use facercise instead of any of that stuff.......I love that I don't look my age of 60...just by facercising...
@@heathercox4798 and i bet you look much younger than women your age doing botox!!!!!! You will never have to worry about getting sick from facial exercise!!!! Never did i think i would get any side effects as millions of people do this every year but i think alot more people will come out about it in future. Fat chance.

Samantha that is a really bad idea these doctors are trained to do this. NEVER EVER dot this if you are not a licensed professional
Serena Suelyn, have you tried going to your dentist to get a mouth guard for clenching your teeth at night? I use one.
Definitely try a mouth guard. I clench my jaw as well. I have mild TMJ it used to be very painful especially when I'm stressed. I've found facial massage can be extremely helpful as well as cold and sometimes hot compresses near the jaw muscles. I hope that helps.
Ok so if the muscle is paralyzed won’t it atrophy making it a bad thing long term if you continuously inject ?
Oh my gosh, was so excited when I saw 24 months! 24 weeks is still great, but felt less as compared to the 24 months!😂🤣
Dr,
have you had other clients that this has happened to? Do you regularly do patch tests on clients with a history of dermatitis to make sure they are not allergic? Just wondering if this is something done normally.
My injector should report this are licensed practitioners obligated to report adverse reactions?
Does this mean I can never do this again? Are my Botox days over before they even began… gahhhhhh
You are literally a blessing ❤️
If Dr. Youn gets Botox well so will I!!! Dr. Youn is always so informative which I love, thank you so much for educating us all. 🙂
Best doctor ever . Thank you for the information.
Beautiful interesting video, thanks Doctor I highly appreciate your sharing
I was in the same room when my mother had Botox done and it hurt like hell. Why is your patient so calm and pain free?!
I get Botox regularly. It’s not painful at all.
It's not painfull
Everyone percieves pain differently. It was slightly painful for me.
Hi Dr. Youn! 🤗
Botox weakens and paralyze muscles so I sometimes see being used on jawline, calves and such so the areas get narrower, less defined.
Thank you!

Dr. Youn, what can be done for the lines directly under the eyes? I have never seen that addressed by anyone.

Thank you!! Great information. I’m in my early 30s and starting to think about this.
Please check blackpink lisa . I really want to hear your opinion wheather she has had plastic surgery. I love her but i'm really curious

Hi Dr. Youn, how many units do you typically need for the crows feet?

Dear Dr. Youn
Last time I wanted to get Botox, I had strange skin reaction after the injection and my dermatologist, didn‘t want me to have Botox again. The skin on my forehad turned white and she kept warming it up with hot cloths until the white reaction desappeared. Do you know what could cause such a reaction.

I've had Botox 4 years ago around my eyes and I loved it! I would do it again if I can afford it🤗
Wish u can afford it again if u enjoyed, how much does it last?
It lasted about 3 months...and the cost was $250. But these days it is around $600 I believe 😬. It feels weird when you smile because the upper part of your face is stiff. Most people who have Botox just grin because if you smile big...your lines come back faster 😬

What are your thoughts on Microtox/Mesotox? I’ve discovered this recently and I’m curious about its application for lines under the eyes. Would you suggest only using fillers to improve the under eye area?

And I also red about people who said they got really sick...I don't know what to do.
Your injector should explain to you the risks and answer any questions. If you don't feel comfortable afterward, you can choose to not have it done
Thank you!! Julia

What would you use instead of botox, safe product, is there anything else you can get a better that gives the same results????
Changed doctor recently and first time ever my eyebrows and lids dropped, horrible. I look awful. Now I have to wait for it to wear off sigh!

Dear dr plz tell us about hifu treatment. Is it pain free what about cost and he long thus lasts
Awesome! Is there any other ways of reducing fine lines of the face instead fo injections.

Hey Dr. Youn did you see that paper about the breast implant deflecting a bullet? Any thoughts?
Dr youn, is it possible and or common for some women do you require more neurotoxin then others? Specifically in the elevens or upper lip. Do some women have stronger muscles in those areas?
Hi Dr. Anthony, Is it true if we only inject Botox in the crow’s feet area it weakens the muscles over time and in the long run, it could result in a droopy lower eye lid!
What a nice man.
Is it normal/temporary to have a lump on master muscle two days after Botox?
Very comprehensive!
I was told you can use Botox to LIFT eyebrows, is that true?
I didn't want mine lifted, only wanted my '11' lines taken care of and it looks like I had a total brow lift. And not really in a good way because I have arched brows.
@@jenniferbarnhill6701 At least both of yours lifted- I now have one shooting way up, but at least it moves. The other one is frozen and doesn't move at all. :(
I‘m getting so bored with people who botox away their full range of facial expressions. I don‘t mind mind getting wrinkly. I try to do some facial excercise, but I would never do anything invasive.
Dr. Youn, please discuss Botox for people with auto-immune diseases. Does Botox stimulate unwanted nervous system and immune system effects???
