I must say, you're a heck of a salesperson! I bought 5 of these books and I have 1 in my cart! HAHAHA! Thank you Teela. I think I'm going to love these books. I appreciate the recommendations.
it's really helpful to get an inside look at how you've approached illustrating flowers! i've been working on some flower illustrations lately and struggling to find consistent references. also, I just recently came across floriography in a museum gift shop and i didn't think twice about picking it up!! such a cool book!
This video combined some of my very favorite things in the world: books and someone's favorite book list, flowers, art (watercolor and drawing, especially), big fat reference books, your enthusiasm. Thanks so much! Great video! 😍😍😍
It's amazing how much study goes behind your work, I really appreciate that you bring so much detail and depth. Thanks for sharing these process videos, these are really helpful. And the books, just gorgeous!
Thank you so much for this informative video. I really hope to get back into drawing and painting flowers soon, as well as starting a cut flower garden this year. I appreciate your help!
❤ Teela, I loved this video!! I was thrilled to see that you also like The Flower Recipe Book, but I am already making plans to get all of your other recs. Please, do this again, it was so much fun!!
This is so helpful! I love looking online but I’m wanting to buy and use more books for references so thank you!!! I love looking in magazines as well. You can find them on sale a lot when stores are about to get rid of them.
Yes, great point! I also subscribe to Kindle Unlimited, so I have access to dozens of magazines for ~$12/mo and there are many books I can access for free with it, too!
Hi Teela! Thanks for the recommendations. I love all of them! Do you think though, that Painting Calm is still useful to learn ‘watercolour’ from if I’m using Procreate’s watercolour pens?
The colors won't naturally bleed into one another like traditional paints, but you can use her illustrations as a guide of what to mimic with smudging those areas manually - plus she has a lot of great composition + color tips, so the value is def still there if you'd like to adapt the projects to digital instead!
Thanks for this video. So very helpful. Would love to hear how you go about finding books as well. What all places online/offline do you look for books at?
I generally go down several rabbit holes on Amazon and obsess over reviews/summaries and preview images before purchasing 🙃 If someone I follow on IG makes a rec or has their own book coming out, I usually purchase pretty quickly, though!

I'm slightly embarassed by how many of these I have already, but still found a couple I'd love! Thanks for putting these together!
Sounds like you have excellent taste! 😉
