Great to learned there is a new member of the L mount alliance ! The last Sigma 28-105 F/2.8 seemed interesting but starting at 1.8 up to 2.8 ans 150mm is like what Tamron made few years ago and it is really appealing Then, it’s about preferences between 28 or 35 My preference goes for the 28…
The new Sigma is a cool lens! I’d love to try it out. For sure it depends on your preference tho. I’m happy with the 35-150 cuz I could get a 16-35 and that matched with the 35-150 means a 16-150 combo 👀😁 but to each their own
Nice one, I have been thinking about this lens... Like a lot. I have the 20-60mm and 50mm 1.8, getting used to the craft and its soo cool - keep going and growing.
Thank you so much for this video, My name is Jordan I currently own the s5iix and I primarily rock the sigma 16-28mm f2.8 and 28-70mm f2.8 I was interested in this lens for L mount but no one had proper videos out. Yours was detailed without having too much fluff. You gained a subscriber for sure. Keep up the good work thank you. Also lol I never get to claim this but first comment 🎉😂 let's go....
Thanks so much for the comment and sub!I’m so happy to have helped! How have you found using the sigma 16-28mm? I haven’t tried it yet and am very curious 🧐
@Markchristiankc shoot I actually have a lot of takes on it, I'm not sure if I can fit all that in the comments. I hope it's ok to ask but would be possible or your schedule allows it we could have a call on discord or something to talk about it I'd be able to break it down in more detail if you'd be interested in that? conversation.
@J_Johnson.Productions I hadn’t thought about it but perhaps making a discord channel would be the right move. I’d be down for a chat though for sure! Let me get back to you once I’ve sorted Discord 👍🏻😊
@@Markchristiankc till them the quick rundown: I primarily shoot events, real estate and corporate media. I had the kit lens 20-60mm which in the daytime I kept at f5.6 that way it wasn't variable aperture "technically". It did a great job and served me well but I found myself shooting more low light events so I needed a lens with a 2.8 aperture or lower I don't really like primes due to the fast nature of things I shoot so it was between the 24-70mm sigma or 28-70mm. I went with the 28-70mm because that extra 4mm didn't make or break my workflow. Fast forward a bit I start to take interior photography for real estate project and sadly 28mm definitely wasn't wide enough so I looked into the L mount options and 16-28mm f2.8 was the only viable option that was that fast aperture wise and full frame. Lumix has the 14-28mm but it's an f4 - f5.6. So far for most events I've covered the 16-28 has been sharp the focus is fast a quiet but I keep manual override enabled on my camera just Incase it works well with the IBIS even on such a wide focal length so genuinely no complaints, additionally as a gimbal operator having internal zoom is absolutely insane for not having to rebalance. Definitely have more details but this is already a long message 🫡😂. Final remarks both lenses are my dream team lenses just waiting to reach my goal which would be the 70-200 f2.8 sigma. That's why I was interested in the Samyang 35-150mm
I’m glad you found it useful! How are you finding the lumix 14-28? I was very curious about it when it was announced but I’m not in love with the high F stop range 🤷🏻♂️

Thanks for the review! After personal testing, I like the new Sigma 28-105 f/2.8 more for several reasons: sharpness, bokeh, weight, build quality, aperture ring (de-clickable option), better zoom lock, and wider start angle. The Samyang's longer lens is pretty hard to keep steady without the lens stabilization.
You know that’s a good point I didn’t think about how there’s no OIS! Interesting! The new Sigma 28-105 looks AMAZING. I’d for sure love to test it out. One thing I will say that I do like a lot about the Samyang vs the Sigma, which you did say, is the longer length. But I also like that it starts at 35 because then when the day comes that an L mount 16-35 F2.8 comes out, I’d literally have the only 2 lenses I’d need for all my work. The Sigma looks incredible tho I’m happy to see at last an F2.8 version of the 28-105 range 🙌🏻
......and I'm delighted that Samyang have joined the L mount alliance. A 135/1.8 maybe......
I’m so excited to see what other lenses Samyang brings to the L mount 🙌🏻😊
Thank you for an outstanding review!
Thanks so much! I really appreciate the comment 😊😊

It’s a great lens! I think it’d be a hugely useful addition to anyone’s lens collection :) happy to hear you’re enjoying filmmaking!

Thanks for the review. I've add the Lumix 14-28/4-5.6 and the Sigma 35/1.4.

Hope i was helpful 🙌🏾.
i love the bokeh
Me too! 🤩
Ive just never been a fan of SYs build quality even though i have a few of kf their tiny series. Excellent glass but kinda of cheaply made.
This lens feels super solid on the hands. I feel like they’ve stepped it up with this one 🙌🏻
