We bought a new 2007 Xterra and had it for 15yrs putting 300,000 miles on it. Kids learn to drive on it, we went off roading and it towed our boat. Never had an issues, just normal maintenance. Its was an awesome truck, and I was a-little sad to see it go. Nice job Nissan...
Infiniti has a LOT of work to do to get back having the relevancy it once had. Although I wish them the best. I might even buy their cars if they end up becoming the Japanese Genesis.
I hope they bring the 9sp to every vehicle ... like the Q50. That seems to be the Achilles Heel of the car. A Q50 with a 9spd would get me into a dealership (and probably purchasing one).

My y62 2014 patrol is approaching 200k miles mark and I am considering either next gen patrol or the lc300 hopefully hybrid by 2025 model year. Tbh I am a bit worried about a whole new engine long term reliability wise my next car I plan to go for at least 250k miles. I baby the patrol driving behaviour wise but I tow offroad and do lot of highway driving as well, it has been super reliable so far with Averege preventive maintenence.
It might make sense that they put a twin turbo 3.8. It’s already in the Frontier naturally aspirated. Unless they plan to revive the vq37 and twin turbo that which is unlikely. Also possible to just put a higher output vr30 in it. If they really plan on dropping the v8, I’m betting on a vq38 or vr30.
Kirk, from what I heard from my Sister who works for nissan Hq In Tennessee, True the QX will come as a 2025, it will be different from the Armada, it will cost $100K, and it will have some some features similar to the Escalade and Wagoneer in which it will compete with. It will also have either the 9 speed transmission and maybe a new 10 speed. The Armada is going to be solely based on the Patrol. They are also bring over a QX65( QX60 without a 3rd row) with a shortened rear end.

With Toyota wrecking the LC200 heritage with the LC300, the Patrol can really win some market share (not applicable to North America but that doesn't matter).

Infiniti's marketing and timing needs improvement. They keep a tight seal on concepts till the very last moment. In addition, they discontinued a legendary vehicle that started the crossover game. The FX / QX70. Just about every manufacturer has injected a crossover into the market. The design of the 2nd generation could compete with today's crossovers and they discontinued it in 2017. I am optimistic about the new QX80 and QX65 which will be a coupe version of the QX60 and the closest to the likes of the FX / QX70. It would be nice to see a high performance line like the M -cars, AMG, & RS. Infiniti's IPL didn't fair so well. I think the market is ready for a robust and well thought out high performance line from Infiniti. Who would turn their nose up at a QX70 with a GTR engine? There is potential...
You cann't compare a Nissan with a Lexus, Nissan is considered a car brand with very poor reliability, at least in Europe.... . Lexus may not be the most modern car but the build, fit and finish of a Lx, Gx etc, best of the best. Autovisie, very popular carmagazine in the Netherlands tested the LC, they had previously tested a Bentley GT..... . The Lexus was considered superior.

Haven't driven cx90 PHEV yet but from those who I've spoken to that have driven it, it seems to be superior in execution over the inline 6. Hope to drive it soon

Sequoia was such a flop. No independent rear suspension. Terrible cargo space because of third row seats that don't fold flat, and no automatic 4 wheel drive. I ended up buying a used Ford expedition instead. Looking forward to see if the Armada delivers

I respect the Armada/Patrol but superior to the LC/LX it is not. Nissan makes some great stuff but it will continue to take a back seat to Toyota in most every way here in the states with the Z and GT-R being the only exceptions.
The Nissan Skyline GTR is not the Infiniti Q50, totally different cars. The Skyline is an over $100K+ car, the Infinite Q50 is $60K. In the past the Skyline was the Infiniti but that changed when they brought back the GTR

I am excited for the Armada. The current version is reliable and decent looking, but has bad resale value and is too round and whale-like. Nissan needs to sharpen it up and hopefully leave the V8 in it.
The QX80 gets the vote from my family as the most hideous vehicle on the road. Cyber truck will give it a run for the money next yr for sure. My 12 yr thinks the Cyber truck was a joke when she first saw it.
Nissan reliability is good, very good. Their CVT´s were flawed, but they perfected them over time... now they're good quality. "cAr pEoplE¨ pretending to know anything about Nissan and the only thing they "know" are the comments about their CVT's that they read on RUclips. I'm not saying you're one of them, but you might very well be.
Nissan should bring back the Xttera and make an Infiniti version to compete with the GX

Things a POS off-road. It's shown in the 4x4 shootout in Kazakhstan. Sounded like it broke a drive shaft or axle.

The QX80 gets the vote from my family as the most hideous vehicle on the road. Cyber truck will give it a run for the money next yr for sure. My 12 yr thinks the Cyber truck was a joke when she first saw it.

Nissan reliability is good, very good. Their CVT´s were flawed, but they perfected them over time... now they're good quality. "cAr pEoplE¨ pretending to know anything about Nissan and the only thing they "know" are the comments about their CVT's that they read on RUclips. I'm not saying you're one of them, but you might very well be.
