✅ Get the AMEX Cobalt Card: bit.ly/Cobalt-GriffinM-2024 Crazy how my converting your Amex points to Aeroplan, you can effectively get 10% back on groceries, restaurants, and more with the Cobalt card. Let me know your go-to cards! -Griffin
You need to do a review for the Amex Cobalt vs the Scotia Amex Gold. All things considered, Amex Gold is much better than Cobalt (hence I made th switch). - Cheaper yearly card price - unto 6X on grocery (usually 5X) - 5X on entertainment - 3x on Gas - No Fx fees - Better insurance (Trip cancellation and interruption)
The ceiling for the value you can get with your points is much lower. You are capped at maximum 1cpp with Scotia, while you can routinely get 2+ cpp if you book smart.
I'm a Canadian that just moved to the UK. All the travel credit cards in the UK seem *terrible* compared to Canada (nevermind US). I notice that if I make purchases with the Canadian credit cards, it says it's valid for purchases *within Canada*. Do you think it's still worth it for me to get a card like the Cobalt and basically only use it to pay for flights (I'm hoping to head home 2-3 times per year) and when I'm in Canada for ~2 months in the year? I guess what I'm asking is, do you know if I still collect travel points on the card if I purchase flights with it from the UK?

Can you use an American express card in Costco?
Thank you
Not in Canada at least
it looks like the offer has changed recently. do you think i should wait for a better signup bonus before applying?
Ahh you're right. Seeing that now. Hard to say when and if it'll change, so I'd tend to say no, go or it.

You would still get points on all spending, but whether or not it would be worth it is a different story. You’d have to run the numbers a bit more
that cobalt card is garbage, make something useful next time
I totally disagree. What makes you say that?
It is not worth it if you don't spend. So kinda of make sense
