In Shetland we call the northern lights the Mirrie Dancers. There’s been a fantastic display this year. You will love it!!! Love from Scotland. Oh wow, Mark Rothko! I studied his paintings when I was at art school. I remember being completed silenced when I stood in front of one for the first time. ❤
Soooo in agreement with you about Winter! I get the weird reactions when I tell people that I love Winter. Like I’m nuts. Here in Chicago there is nothing like a bright frigid day after a big snowstorm to go for a walk. Love it!

I would recommend lots of wool clothes in Finland - especially socks. And wear layers, with lots of air between them, that’s warmer than wearing just one thing.
I lived in Northern Canada, and I think the Montcler Jacket should be nice and cosy for your trip. In my opinion, it’s toes and fingers that need care, as well as your head. I found if I could keep my feet and hands warm, I could stay outside longer. Enjoy the northern lights - they really are magic

What a fabulous trip. I am so excited for you to be seeing the Rothko show, then the aurora borealis while staying in a glass igloo, with a final stop in Copenhagen. Wow. Wow. Wow. And your coats are stunning. I live in Los Angeles and have winter coats that I cannot give up even though I can only occasionally wear them at night in the winter when walking the dog. I understand.

I visited Finnish Lapland inside the Arctic Circle as a child to see Santa Claus and did many of the same activities you mentioned Michele. It was magical, you will have a ball! We didn't see any Northern Lights on that trip but I have seen them here at home in the north of Ireland when conditions are right. They really are a sight to behold. Can't wait to watch the videos!

As someome who lives in Central Canada where it gets very cold,I suggest thermal lined mitts instead of gloves...the heat from all your fingers together rather than separated by gloves will keep your hands more warm, unless you do buy heated gloves or wear thin gloves inside your mitts...just a suggestion...can't wait to see your vlogs from your trip😊...BTW,Canada as well has beautiful northern lights and when it's calm and quiet you can actually hear them when they are dancing and shifting❤

Our family just returned after four years in Finland. Lapland is magical in the winter. So excited for you. And Copenhagen is such a fun city with amazing food.

I have the exact same Eileen fisher coat again more than 7 years old. Absolutely love and definitely a keeper especially for a New Yorker like me in those chilly fall temps.

So I was in Finnish Lappland back in March and I hope you don't mind if I give you 2 tips. Get a pair of Sherpa lined, not fleece, but Sherpa lined leggings from Athleivate. They are impervious to cold and you won't need layers. Also, get a balaclava for the dog sled. You will thank me for that later! I can also tell you it will be a trip of a lifetime. ❤

Shearling and down will be perfect for Finland in January! Think about some proper snow boots too; when we went to Helsinki in January it snowed off and on for 3 days. Snow / hiking boots were essential, even in the city centre!

You're going to lóve Scandinavia. I've been several times (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland): só nice! Also: you could also travel by train, because trains in Europe are só good and you see a lot! From Malmö (Sweden) you can take the train and it takes 30 min to Copenhagen! Also in Copenhagen: rent a bike? Bikes have seperate roads (like with us in Holland) so it's very safe. Buy thermo clothing? Uniqlo has great ones! But in Finland you usually get thermo overall, so handy, but you do need moonboots. Have fun!! ❤
OMG, sounds incredible! I'd love to do the same Finland/Copenhagen trip....SO keen to see your vlogs. Another great winter place closer to home is Quebec City, Canada. They have a famous Winter Carnival, and you get the French Canadian culture as well. With the current exchange rate it's also very affordable for Americans.

As a former resident of Copenhagen I know your gonna love it‼️ We in Denmark also have a the possibility to see the northern light (and smoke it😅) There's a youtube channel called Robe Trotting which is 2 guys from Philly who has lived in Copenhagen Dk for 4-5 years and as Americans they make videos and podcasts about living in Copenhagen. IT'S A MUST SEE BEFORE YOUR TRAVELS...

Lovely coat collection. I recently purchase a Burberry quilted jacket fits just below my knee it has sliver hardware. I’m now looking for a black bag with sliver hardware to match with. You can also see the northern lights from Canada too, best views are from the Yukon.

It was bitterly cold since it was February 🥶 and they looked really more warm than I felt in my North Face. Do you like Canadian Goose?
Also, sooooo excited for your big trip! I love cold and dark but, not below freezing 🥶 cold and dark. Snow ❄️ and cold enough for snow ❄️ in the dark is good enough for my winter.
