This is great! I am having the same problem with my 2006 1.6 tdci fiesta. It's too dark to try to open the relay box now but will definitely try tomorrow. Yep, tried it and that was the fix. Thanks for the great upload. In my case the relay was some g.cartier crap, replaced it with the ford part.

Had the same problem. Took it to fords and they provided an up rated relay. I then opened the old one and found contacts stuck together. Cleaned them and is now the spare. The cover simply pops open with a small screwdriver. YEs there is a black and grey relay. ITs the grey one for the high speed fan.
Hi my car does shows warm when its cold, it doesn't overheat but the fan also does not come on. I changed the radiator flange with temp sensor as I had a waterless. The fan did not come on before that either. Now I testet that the fan comes on when I pull the temp sensor connection off. But when by running engine I put it on the fan stays on and Fault management light comes on. When I switch it off fan stays off . Can you help me ? could it be the Cable or the relay? And how doI change the cable ?
Hi My car ford figo was overheating recently and i bought new Themostat and temperature switch but when it gets hot my fan doesn't turn could that be a fault fan relay aswell?
Hi, thanks for the video. I have a ford figo, the fans starts spinning immediately when i turn the ignition and only stops when I turn the ignition off. Could you maybe help with advice ? Thanks
Hi Linda...if your car is the same as the fiesta then it will more than likely be one of 2 things...your coolant sensor could be buggered or you slow speed fan relay could be stuck in the on position... both are cheap to fix.....change the sensor first to see if it helps.
@@fookayou8607 ok next thing to check is the heat exchanger to make sure it is not blocked. Also check the rods/cables from the selector switch to the flaps these might have come off.

Hi my Fiesta 2009 1.6 Tdci is doing same problem. Fan is very speedily on while engine off. I took off that gray relay one day and try to jump start as the fan killed all the battery and finally I damage the ECU (electronic control unit) and cost me £500 to make the car live. Now having same problem the fan is on and on. I am scared to take off the grey relay and put new one. Need ur advice please. Thanks
Just replace the grey relay with a new one..and just to be safe don't start or drive your car until you have fitted the new relay. Did you accidently reverse the polarity when you jump started the car?
@@TheSajuahmed the damage to ecu is not because relay was removed. It's from the method of jump starting, the safest way to jump start a car is to indirectly connect the battery negative via the engine block.
Check fan motor first then sensor then relays...remember there are 2 fan relays on this model so both need to be faulty for the fan to not work at all. So probably the motor is gone or the sensor..

Yes you are right Ford did modify the relays in the end I guess they got fed up with the complaints.
I know it's quite an old upload but I don't suppose you have a link for the correct relay please?
Hi
The coolant sender under the coilpack could be a push in or a screw in item. Most companies keep the push in.

Firstly check your fan motor then the temp sensor then the fan relay, if they are all functional then I am afraid it's your wiring

Hi any idea why in cabin heater would give an issue ? It won’t blow hot air only cold 🥶
Yes..sounds like your thermostat is stuck...so hot water is not circulating to the heat exchanger in your cabin..hope it helps
