I had the same overheating issue which is now been fixed by taking the following steps: 1. Replaced coolant pump with the new one as the coolant was not returning to the tank. 2. Get the radiator cleaned by the service provider 3. Cleaned the return pipe by applying WD40 and then passed the air pressure from the nearby service station. Hope this helps! :)
Going through overheating right now. About to change temperature sensor. I came up with a great way to install drive belt and will be uploading as soon as my son finishes dinner. My Fiesta has 267,000 miles and still runs great.
that little thing that you found inside the hose is a valve some Ford vehicles have it in the hoses from reservoir to the block and is very common problem and nobody know it but is important to replace it with the Genuine hose because that valve helps with te A/C presure and degrees of the Vehicle
you replaced the head gasket? i have a 2015 and already replaced water pump, thermostat, just changed the timing belt and crankshaft timing gear bc it came apart. great gas mileage car with great power but Lord Jesus this is making me nuts.. 795 for a used motor with 31000 miles on it. this gurgles out after 15 min run time. I purged the system of air several times. thinking maybe heater control valve. thanks for the video.
looks like part of a heater control valve...? it can caused overheating too. so glad you figured out yours. now if i can figure out mine. seems like a have a head gasket leaking or a cracked head on the intake side bc block tested negative for co2. i and going to run a compression test and maybe a leakdown test. cant fix it if I cant find the problem. arrgh
Been looking for this fix..... i've just replaced my thermostat... Car shows coolant light and check engine light.... fan always running and i also broke the overflow coolant pipe. This is helpful, Thank you.
what did the overheat symptoms look like for the radiator ie with the bad coolant switch? My ac isnt working while car is at idle and my car is overheating. changed out new fan and relays and also fuses and know that is all good. so i think the coolant switch is the next thing to change out but curious is you noticed problem with you ac while you fan assembly wasn't working also.
I used an inexpensive OBD II reader to look at the data stream. And there is a means to switch the driver information center to display the coolant temp. Google it you will find the instructions.
Did it work when you took the hose off without replacing the coolant sensor? Is it difficult to take the hose from the cylinder head to the reservoir bottle?
I have the 2009 model, similar setup. My coolant tank is the same as yours but the mechanic said I should buy the retuen pipe to put it where the coolant tank is being blocked. The fan kicks in way too late, when the coolant is starting to bubble. Where would that pipe would go connect ?
Thanks for the video, I could not find sensor until saw your video. My 2015 fiesta is overheating but the fan won"t come on unless you cut the ac on. I going to try changing sensor see if that works..
hi - so did you solve the problem? I got the exact same issue and blew 2 head gaskets this year so I just parked the car off for now. It went up to 107c after the last repair and still no fan so I got scared and then tested with the ac and it worked. Some people say the relay, some say the coolant sensor but I doubt it it sensor if it could read 107c. Way too much conflicting info online
@@declansgamereview6523hi my friend, do you fixed the issue? my Fiesta 2009 has the same problem. The engine fan still not turn on even the temperature hits 105. The fan runs good if get power straight from battery, and relay tested good either. I think the sensor is ok cause I can read the temperature from the hidden dash menu. So very confused about the issue.
@@xiaowang507 check the thermo fuse. It is a common issue. It is a fuse attached to the fan housing. Just bridge it with a thick wire and the fan should work again ehen the temperature hits 105c
My car is over heating I think it maybe the sensor changed my thermostat and still over heating no indicator on but I know its over heating cause when I put my ac on its blowing hot air
My fan is constantly running. There’s no temp gauge in this dumb car so I have no idea what it’s running at. My reservoir and that little line aren’t hot so I don’t think the blockage is there. Only thing I can think is that the temp sensor is bad. I’ll probably start there because I don’t think the fan would be running if the relay was bad.
Why did you not show the process of removing the coil packs do you speak very well but you showed nothing in your video on how to remove or the process of changing sensor it's going to be a very informative video would have helped my daughter out 1200 mi away
Did your fan only work with the AC ? What was the issue in the end if you dnt mind ? Long story but I am fed up now with the issue after spending thousands this year
@@declansgamereview6523 The fan itself was broken. the blades had broken loose from the motor shaft, the motor spun when indicated by sensor, but the fan wasn't attached to the motor. New fan cost me about $80

Does this sensor not let your fans run when its bad??
Did you figure out the issue ?
Same thing is happening to mine. A/c not working when idling and now over heats. Can’t figure out what is wrong. Fan doesn’t seem to come on.
How do you know what coolant temp is? There’s no gauge. Thanks for video.

Hey be nice to ur car
You can get you engine temp on you dash if you don’t have a gauge needs to be put in test mode
Just as a heads up, The Fans will run permanently if you have the AC on on this setup. Fiesta/EcoSport. All 1.25 Duratec Mk7 cars.
