I flew into Puerto Rico once on a combined business/pleasure trip and just the way the customs lady looked at me made me feel nervous and guilty! I had absolutely nothing illegal with me and my purpose for being there was totally legit but my heart sped up and I felt like the blood drained out of my face!

I was coming back from Cuba, I'm Canadian, and the woman here in Canada just was SO freaking suspicious of me, all because I'd gone to Cuba alone! I totally do not get why that is suspect. Like, I want to get away from EVERYONE and enjoy my alone time in Cuba, what is so odd about that?

Really gentle officers with amazing perseverance levels.
These officers are super nice and respectful even when they discover something illegal being smuggled in. The dogs are well trained and love their job. There's a great clip on you tube in which a guy is talking to his retired narc dog. The man is calling off some items from his grocery list. Milk, butter, bread, etc. And no reaction from the dog. The man says "Cocaine" and the dog turns his head around. Ears up and becomes excited. There's another video in which a soldier gets to keep his bomb dog when the dog becomes too old to work. The soldier notices the dog was becoming increasingly depressed although he was being given a wonderful life. It was only when the veteran realized that his dog missed his work. The soldier knew he would have to do something so he began hiding something for the dog to find (I forget what he hid). The dog perked up and enjoyed his new life of leisure and work thanks to his insightful and loving handler. If anyone knows the link for these please post.

There are tons of signs everywhere in a UK airport that tell you exactly what you need to declare and where to declare it, if youre to stupid or blind to miss the phone then just ask someone at least, theres no excuse for passing through the nothing to delcare channel when you know you have something to declare.
My 75 year old mom, my mom’s best friend, my husband and my 5 year old daughter were all detained coming back into the U.S. from a Mexican vacation. We thought it was funny (none of us do drugs) we were sent into a separate room all together with another couple. We were all giggling and making jokes, “Ever get the feeling we’re going to be body cavity searched?!?!”, “It’s been a while since I’ve been touched by anyone other than my doctor!”….the other couple thought none of it was funny and sat there stone faced talking to no one (even each other). I think they halfway looked through our bags again but quickly let us go…the other couple were still sitting there being totally quiet. 🤣

I was traveling from Sydney to Launceston, Tasmania and when I arrived, a detector dog basically jumped on my lap (I was in a wheelchair). It picked up the scent of the lemon I had with my Pho lunch. The guard was really nice and didn't put me through an ordeal.

When I went to Japan, I forgot I had a beef burrito in my bag. I remembered about the burrito as I went through the security and was asked if I am carrying any contraband such as beef jerky etc. I said no as I was sweating and was acting nervous. They let me go anyway. They should have taken me to the back with whole body and cavity search.
As for burrito, I threw it away as I lost my appetite. I went through all that for a stupid burrito which I didn’t even take more than a couple of bites.
I had to confess here, cause this reminded me how nervous I got and how guilty I feel.
Coming off a cruise in Miami the sniffer dog was present and it did get a hit in front of us. I thought it was pretty exciting how easy it is for the dog to find a suspect.

the machine is not used for convictions but just an indication to search, particles get through all the time and they let people go, it also has a strength indicator on it that tells you how many particles are on it. If it comes up with a massive reading like it did with that woman's dance mat then that is a strong indication that its more than just residue particles

The agents dealing with the cigarette guys were extremely patient. Here in the US and many other countries, the moment one becomes abusive, it usually results in an arrest.

That little red phone with the tiny sign underneath at an empty desk looks like a total scam to me. There seems to be an absolute ton of staff magically available when you don't pick up the phone... LOL
Giant, lit "Good to declare" sign right about the desk. They knew exactly what they were doing and were just cheesed off about getting caught.
Customs declarations in the UK are colour coded, green for nothing to declare and red for something to declare.
These guys knew that they were exceeding the limit of cigarettes, if their intention was to declare they would have.
They clearly thought they’d get away with it, but if caught they’d just have to pay the taxes on it, but if you don’t declare it, it gets confiscated and destroyed.
You can also then go quietly, just accept that you got caught and accept the confiscation, but they argued with and insulted two men just doing their jobs for what was reportedly over an hour.
The declaration point is used as an amnesty point, you’ve already broken the rules by going over the limit, they’re giving you the opportunity to declare it and just pay the difference in taxes.

@YES WE CAN bullshit she doesn't know what she signed up for. I've turned my life around now but in the past I've done prison quite a few times. I met many jamaicans doing 10 years plus. They became good friends and I know the hardships they faced and how they were manipulated threatened and abused. Often family members held to ransom to ensure they go through with it. Or they simply do it to try and help get their families put of poverty or trouble. I know these stories and I've cried over these stories. One thing none of them understood were the consequences of their actions. They werent trained to stay calm it's just in their nature. The king pins at the top dont care enough for them to train them. They are often set up to keep the guards happy so others can get through. It's so wrong they end up doing long sentences whilst the real culprit is untouchable.

February 14, 1996 I got stop with 2 kilograms in Luis Muños Marin International Airport (Puerto Rico) I beat the case (the cops violated my rights for the reason they said or they use to stop me) since that they I have NEVER been in anything related with drugs. That chance life gave me was enough for me to make a change. Today am 48 years old with family and proud of the way I live my life and the changes I made for good. Brothers & Sisters don't put yourselfs on a position like this people are doing, tooooo muuch to lose and is not worth it.

They can't make arrests by finding, "Minute particles". Even if she "Confessed", without actual drugs, there is no case.

Alex Hill Disapointing because even though they were sure the woman was smuggling, they couldn’t find the evidence. They knew it was there somewhere but if they couldn’t find it they would have to let her go. It must be very frustrating when they think drugs are present but smugglers have been too clever with the concealment.
