Awesome video - I have the same mower and just got the sharpener with the adapter today. When you set up the bottom blade, did you use the left holes on the adapter for that blade? Also just wondering what angle settings you used on that blade?
Thank you so much! I ended up using the right side holes for both blades - it moved the blade edge closest to parallel with the grinder arm. I think that's the goal with any blade. I used 35 degrees for the smaller, top blade and I believe 45 degrees for the bigger, bottom blade due to the twist of the whole blade's manufacturing. A test pass never hurts. I hope this helps! I may try a 60-grit flap disk mext time and oh, and have a balancer!
Thank you. I agree. On the bottom blade - I tried 35 degrees last night and I was too far on the high side. Once I went to 45 this morning I was dead on along the sharp edge. The tool is great.
Good deal! I like to hear that there is consistancy. What type of grinding disk did you use? Did it leave a burr on the edge similar to my result? Enjoy!
I bought the 9.95 Harbor Freight angle grinder last night. I can’t screw any of the locking pins in perfect. Perhaps I’ll upgrade soon. I got the 60 grit flap wheel. Many of the other guys I’ve watched said the flap wheel gives a convex or concave (not sure) curve. I will try the grinding wheel next. I use the HRX 217 VKA and I will say the adapter they made for this blade is flawless, even on that dropped curved part of the blade. Bottom line is this - you won’t wreck a blade ever again using this jig.
Z... Is for Zircon. Hence the Blue Abrasive ! HTH Prof M
Good info - thank you very much, Prof M!
