Project Farm did a review about a week ago. Demonstrated your product very well. Should see an uptick in sales. LOL Great product AND Made in U.S.A. MAkes quick work of sharpening blades.
During Covid I had so much freetime I rigged up a jig to hold my blades in place and a wicked edge/ edge pro style sharpening system and was basically putting knife edges on my blades. I had three sets that I changed out weekly and was mowing like every other day. That was the best my lawn has ever looked. Those were the days. Bring back covid.
Here is some valuable information that worked for me and may work for anyone using the All American 5005 and the following blades: HONDA HRX17: W159671(UPPER BLADE) 30deg; W159977(LOWER BLADE) 35deg with All American adapter installed. John Deere: M154062(BAGGING/HIGH LIFT BLADE) 40deg; M149422(MULCHING BLADE) low outer edges 30deg, raised inner edges 25deg; GY20850(STANDARD 3-IN-1) low outer edges 35deg, raised 15deg.🤓
Thanks for the feedback. We know that angle settings vary with blade geometry and wear, but it's helpful to hear specific information from our terrific customers! Wishing you many years of great service from your 5005!
After researching all the different blade sharpeners out there I bought this one because its well made portable and nearly foolproof and affordable.Mine does a great job Todd and had all four grinder pins with it so no worries there about having the right one. Thanks Jim F. from PA.
I can attest to the sheer (design) genius of this sharpener. I use a Norton 980 ceramic abrasive fiber disc on my grinder with it (over the usual flap discs) and this sharpener hones my blades with ridiculous precision! The 5000 model works like a charm, but if you're in doubt, get the 5005 model. You'll thank yourself for years to come.
Greetings from Canada! Just ordered the 5005 Gen 2 with the honda adapter kit to upgrade my small business. I searched a lot for a good product that would last for the rest of my life and that I could give to my child. Proud to support our hard working neighbors. Thanks for all the videos and take care!
Bought this a couple months ago and wanted to use and give honest review. Excellent product. Well built and very well thought out. Have the honda adapter and it work's excellent. Reasonable price and excellent customer service. Replacement parts are cheap and easily available although I think it would need a lot of abuse before you needed any replacement parts.
Rebecca Machado We really appreciate you taking the time to give us feedback. And of course we're glad your experience has been positive! We hope it will last you for generations.
Can it sharpen Left hand blades? For years Simplicity, used Left hand blades. John Deere, Walker, Roper, Wheel Horse, Woods, Jacobsen, Yard-Man and many other used Left hand blades on there rear discharge deck.
Yes, you can sharpen left hand blades as well. Please see the link below in this comment for a video showing how that is done. Thank you for your question! ruclips.net/video/AmlqcATxdAQ/видео.html
I was a farmer. We would use hard surface welding rods, and where ever the metal would wear on subsoiler feet, and shanks . We added the hard surface. I started my own lawn service. I use one set of blades to see where they wore down the most. So where they wore. I added hard surface, which included the cutting edge . When I sold the riding tractor. Those blades were still on the mower. Give it a try.
Thanks! I will be ordering one very soon. I do mine by hand but I notice that my angle is moving towards 45 deg slowly. This will eliminate that creeping angle. Just what I've been looking for.
Just what I need but a little to price for me. This is my 2 seasons on my landscaping/lawncare business and this will be a great tool to sharpen my equipment blades.
We saw the video, and were happy to be included in his testing. If you have any questions about our sharpeners, and which model would be best suited to your needs, please reach out via email to support@allamericansharpener.com or call us at 419-823-7787.
Question.....why sharpen the raised section on the blade. As the mower goes forward the grass is contacted by the leading edge of the blade and is cut or broken off at that time. The raised sharp area of the blade would never get to the grass first. So why sharpen it ? This is not a wise guy question. I am an engineer and this type of question will always come up. Another question, an older RUclips video was by a manufacturers rep advising against a razor sharp blade on a bush hog. If I remember correctly...his reason was that the sharper the edge, the more likely it would be chipped and damaged as the blade encountered stones, stumps , etc. Do you subscribe to his reckoning? If so, should the grass lawn mower grass blade be extremely sharp? Great video, great simple tool. Just wondering about how sharp a mower blade should be. Anyone else out there have any experience with my thoughts ? Thanks for the video. JoeB
Hi JoeB. Thank you for your comments and kind words. We agree that the inside raised section is a secondary edge. All the real action is happening on the outside cutting section. But, as you pointed out in your other comment, it does do some mulching. That section is also responsible for air redirection to help mulch up the already once cut blades of grass. So having that edge sharp is also helpful. We try not to argue about whether the mower blades should be razor sharp, or slightly dulled. There are some people that are very passionate about this topic. Personally, we do not dull or blunt our mower blades after sharpening them. The theory is that, if they are too sharp, they will take nicks more easily. This may be true. I would imagine a lot of that depends on the environment you are mowing in. We do not have any issues mowing our grass with a sharp blade. Any nicks that I see in a my blades, are likely nicks that would have happened even if the blade was slightly dulled before mowing. I suppose it also helps our decision knowing that we have a simple way to sharpen our blades. So we don't feel like it's a burden to sharpen them on a somewhat regular basis. We probably sharpen them about every 10 hours. That's when we feel a difference as they are starting to get dull. Thank you for your interest and your comments!
Thanks Pete! We're glad to hear that. There is definitely a positive side effect of wanting to sharpen your blades more often, ha ha! We appreciate your business and support.
What's the point in having the angles labeled if you just quickly adjust it without looking on the mulching blade? 2 different angles, both are supposed to get a 30 degree angle ????
Hi Chris. On the Model 5000, there are 2 settings specifically for commercial bi-level mulching blades. They are marked more just so you can remember which setting is for what. On our newer Model 5005, there are multiple settings. So it is important to have them marked to come back to the same settings every time you sharpen a specific blade. Different blades need different angle settings. The angle adjustment is needed because of the tilts or twists in a blade. Here is a link to video that might give you a better idea of why the angle settings need to change. ruclips.net/video/VejPPKBv_9o/видео.html Most times, the adjustments are in order to keep the factory angle, which is usually close to a 30 degree edge. Thanks for your interest! Hope this helps. If you have more questions, you can email us at support@allamericansharpener.com
check out a locking hinged knee brace. they give you full 90 degree range of motion if you desire, otherwise you can put pins in the hinge to lock the movement from exceeding certain degree's. maybe that could be of use of the design. i want to get me one of these. I just started my own lawn service late last year but I'm looking to make a big push this year
I’ve been in business for 18 yrs doing lawn care work trust me this is awesome and it’s also safer for employees to use!!!! You need to talk about how much safer it is to use verses holding it without the setup !!!!
I've seen a bunch of blade sharpening guides, this appears to be the simplest version and most accurate by far with for mulching blades and with a common hand grinder. A nice straightforward presentation.
For me as a new customer this is the best video for me to learn how to mount and use it. I bought the 05 version. This is an elegantly simple design. I need to remember to position the angle correctly. Forgot that the first time and I was grinding at the wrong angle. Oops. I know you covered it but I missed it.
Todd, ordered the 5005ext with Honda adapter and received it in 2 days, I just couldn’t wait to test your product out. Instructions were very clear and precise. The product material is first class you can tell a lot of time went into this and it will last a life time, I pulled my Honda blades out and went to work and oh my what a difference, I have been paying between $10 and $13 to have one blade sharpened (Honda has 2 blades), so $20 out the door, your product is awesome and makes it so easy. I just love it--- ps. The guys sharpening my blades was just tearing them up not very sharp and not at factory 30 degrees angle.
Roy - Thank you very much for the feedback and compliments! You're exactly the kind of person our sharpeners are made for, and I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment.
Thanks Lou! Yes, the mounting bracket can be turned around and clamped in a vise without any issue. You can see a demonstration of this in the video at the link below. ruclips.net/video/77Qg3cVc_f4/видео.html
we have a yard care company, and have at least four blades a week to sharpen it takes a lot of time to do this. This looks quick and repeatable. Going to get three of these!!!
So I ordered this last week and received it two days later. Setup was very straightforward and it came with four pins so there was one that fit my old Skil grinder. The build quality is excellent and looks like it should last for many years. It's easy to use and does a awesome job of sharpening the blades. Always used a bench grinder before and never could get the angles right but not a problem now with this sharpener.
What a great product !!! The wife ordered the 505 model on Thursday afternoon and we received it Monday afternoon.(would have been sooner but UPS don’t do weekends lol ) I was able to set it up and decided to try it out on some Land Pride finish mower blades I had in the shop. Was able to get the blades brought back to a decent cutting edge again. Then I sharpened the blade on my Toro push mower with fantastic results!!!!! cuts like a new mower !! Getting ready to do my Ferris next ! Easy to use, made in the USA ! What a great product the All American Sharpener is.
Thanks for your business and your comment! It's good to hear you are happy with the results. We hope and expect your 5005 will serve you well for many years.
I love it. I have 5 acres and use a riding mower as well as a brush hog with tractor. Do you think I could modify the blade holder so I could hold my brush hog blades in place to sharpen them with your jig too?
Hi John. We have had some customers who have been able to adapt or modify their jig to work with their brush hog blades. But, in general, we cannot recommend it. Our jigs are very sturdy, but only meant for mower blades. We fear that many brush hog blades are just a bit too hefty for the device. One day down the road we may develop a larger jig that is meant for brush hog blades. Thank you for your interest!
My thoughts on this item? 1 - Shipping was lightning fast. I ordered Wednesday evening, and it was at my door Friday morning. 2 - The item was packaged very good, and had all hardware required to assemble along with very clear instructions on how to use the jig 3 - The quality of this product rivals anything I've seen to date. Solid and straight cut aluminum with chamfered and relieved edges gives the product a solid feel - and for the tool aficionado, it is very easy on the eyes, almost like a work of art. 4 - Assembly and installation of the jig on my work bench was very straight forward. So much so that any novice would be hard pressed to get lost installing this jig. 5 - It works GREAT! I had four sets of blades that the 30 degree edge was long lost from hand grinding. After using this jig on them, they look as good as new and has a nice sharp edge - ready to cut any lawn. I'd recommend this item to anyone that is serious about maintaining their personal lawn to the professional that does landscape as a business, or even to a small shop owner that reconditions lawnmower blades for profit.
Wow. What a generous testimonial. We really do appreciate your comment/praise. And we're even more happy that you like it as much as you do. Connecting with like-minded people has been an unexpected benefit from putting our products on the market. And it feels really good. Thanks very much for taking the time to share your thoughts!
Just dawned on me. My blades are mulching blades and I would surmise that the blades cut the grass particles flying around in the deck again and again, now just once. Sorry about the “too quick” question on having to sharpen the raised section of the mulching blade. JoeB
Not a problem on the question. As you have pointed out, the inside raised cutting section does have some value. It is there to redirect airflow and help chop up the already once cut mower blades. But we do agree that the most important cutting section of the blade is the outside 2 or 3 inches. That's where all the original cutting action happens. Thanks for your comments!
I so need this...I cannot maintain an angle by hand even if my life depends on it. Word of advice, make something like this but for knives. I have an ESEE izula 2 that needs to be sharpened but finding a quality knife sharpener person is hard to find around here.
I mow an acre of thick tall fescue with two passes from opposing directions with a 60" zero turn. Consequently I need to sharpen and balance three mulching blades every 4th time I mow. This season I mow twice a week sometimes with all the rain. So far I've sharpened three blades 6 times times this year to keep my lawn looking professionally maintained. Recently I've been asked to sharpen mower blades for neighbors. I can't justify the expensive Oregon or similar sharpening setups. Nor have I ever been satisfied with the results of sharpening the mulching blades with a bench grinder. I like the simplicity of the design and fact I can get an almost razor sharp edge on a mulching blade with the right grinding disc. I'll be ordering one soon.
you all prolly dont give a damn but does any of you know a way to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid lost the account password. I appreciate any tips you can give me.
@Theodore Omar I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im trying it out now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I contacted the company and the developer himself; Todd responded in under 30 minutes. He clearly answered my question. This is an exceptional product and a blessing guys!!!!!
Well, it sure impressed me, so I went to his website and bought the Model 5000, because I have 3 mulching blades in my Exmark 52-inch Radius zero-turn mower. I also bought some 40-grit flap discs for my DeWalt D28402 grinder (his grinder looks like the grinder I have). If I remember, I'll return and give my impression when I've used his jig a few times.

Sweet! That is exactly what we like to hear! Thanks for the testimonial. We appreciate your business, and that you took the time to post your thoughts.
How does it work on a blade in which the cutting edge is not in straight alignment. All of my blades have “wear” on the cutting portion and do not remain straight. Just wondering....
It will try to keep a straight line, but the grinder will still sharpen a worn edge that does not follow a straight line. It may take more passes with the grinder to get the whole edge sharp. The best example I have is this bi-level blade I sharpened for someone else. It was in pretty bad shape (worn with deep nicks), so I had to spend more time on it than an average blade. But I didn't have to grind until I had a straight edge just to get it sharp. I will share a photo link below: photos.app.goo.gl/crkDGD4nCYtX8YuaA
This my be a silly question but how do I determine the pin size for my grinder ? Also, since I use various mower blades in my fleet (i.e. standard, gator, high lift, etc.) which sharpener model would you recommend - 5000 or 5005?
We include 4 different adapter pins with our sharpeners, and one of them should fit your grinder. There are a few exceptions, and I will include a link to the spreadsheet we have been building with common grinder thread sizes. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vQDszcT1Z3vLhwPYrQa8IxdN3aFanMZCHrbS1JR59SUGMEfMzpHl9Wq2yG_ZLJktflkmwhpD8FVtdjY/pubhtml?gid=69379172&single=true If you are sharpening a variety of blades, the Model 5005 will be best suited to that. It allows you to adjust the angle from 15 degrees to 45 degrees (in 5 degree increments), and should accommodate most anything you throw at it.
@@AllAmericanSharpener Do you have any promotions (discounts) for your 5005 blade sharpener? I would really like to purchase this model but the budget is a little tight after replacing landscaping tools due to theft (hedge trimmers, blowers, small mowers and hand held tools).
@@BroadwayJoe49 We don't offer any discounts or promotions on our products. We've made great effort to keep our sharpeners as affordable as they can be, while still maintaining the quality we believe is important. Thank you for checking in, and for your interest.
I bought one and love it. I’m constantly wanting to sharpen blades any chance I get now. I did buy a g5 gator blade setup and noticed the factory degree is 35 instead of 45 so I’m glad I saw this video. Always go with the factory angle
We appreciate your interest in our jig. If you need any assistance as you select the right model for your needs, please reach out to us at support@allamericansharpener.com
It's not designed to handle chipper blades. But we recently had a customer show us how they made their own adapter plate to sharpen their chipper blades. If you'd like more info about how they did that, feel free to send an email to: support@allamericansharpener.com Thanks for your interest!
Todd, I purchased your 5005. I have the G6 Gator blades. I decided to purchse the devuce as I don't have confidence with the mower shop , nor myself. Excellent quailty. This video was a blessing before I use the unit. Best Always.
Feedback on my new 5005. I Consider it a winner. I finally was able to sharpen a blade from my Woods 60” ZTR. It worked great. I found my blades are angled at 45 degrees. I need to sharpen and balance several blades so I will be switching over to a standard grinding wheel.
Absolutely not. You can use any 4-5 inch angle grinder. 4.5 inch angle grinders seem to be the most common. Cordless or corded, straight or angled handles will work. Thanks for your interest!
Using a grinder takes off a LOT of material making balancing more difficult. I sharpen my blades several times a season in a vise, using a 40-grit flapper wheel on a drill. Blade is razor sharp and I never have to worry about balancing.
bought one of these sharpeners a couple of years ago, works great, fast , always cuts correct angle, great tool.saves time, and money, because you don't grind any more than you have too.
Thanks very much for your comment and compliment! We're glad you are happy with your 5005, and we hope it is a tool that gives you years of great service. We are grateful to have you as a customer, and we appreciate your support.
One way to improve upon your design would be to add a bearing and concentric cone to the outer portion of one of the pivots on the ‘arm.’ This would allow the operator to ‘stick’ the blade, via friction or magnetization, on the cone and allow gravity to be the decider of a truly balanced blade- assuming the bench or mounting bracket would position the arm into a relatively plumb (vertical) position. Pretty ingenious as is, however. PS- I’d take a 10% royalty if you’re able to bring this to market. 🙂
Absolutely. This video has relevant information, but it was created before we made our Model 5005. That is the model you will want for those blades. You will likely need the 35 or 40 degree setting on the Model 5005 to match the factory bevels on Toro Timemaster blades. Thank you for your interest! www.allamericansharpener.com/5005
Hi Darren. Yes, we have "EXT" models with that added ability. See this video for details. ruclips.net/video/RxLYASrwiCw/видео.html We've also introduced a new Model 5005 with multiple angles adjustments. This model also has an 'EXT" verion for left-hand discharge blades. ruclips.net/video/zdnjOYnEe2Y/видео.html Thanks for your interest!
Just ordered mine today and I’m stoked. I’m sure I’ll figure out what I need to do with my mulch : gator blades but they appear to have a 30 degree and a 15 degree. I ordered the 5005 gen 2 so I’m sure I’ll just have to play with the settings to see how it needs to be ground. I do appreciate you showing how to grind half the transition at a time. I think that was another thing I found confusing.

Did you ever make a tool for sharpening Bush hog blades? Also, tool for shovel & hoes ? Maybe a sharpening tool for chain saws without the motor above but to pull horizontal to you to see better. I know you guys can do it. Thanks.
Thanks for your confidence, Larry. Design development and production is a pretty involved process, and at this point we've kept our focus on basic mower blade sharpening. Bush hog blades continue to pop onto our radar, and if we were to broaden our scope, that might be a direction we'd look into. No promises at this point in time. 😊
For this price, I wish you should just include all common size pins so that we can use them with different grinders, that may take different size pins.
$200 though?? If you have a lot of mowers this would be a money and time saver. But I would buy a new set of blades 4 years in a row before i spent $200 worth for my mower
How do you adjust the 5005 to do mulching blades? It doesn’t just have to tip feature like the 5000 you’re show ing here. At what angle would you use to sharpen the top portion of a mulch blade?
I'm linking a couple of videos that demonstrate the way the 5005 works, and also walks you through how to find your angle. Every mower manufacturer has their own unique blade geometry, so it's not a one-size-fits-all approach to angles. Generally speaking, the raised mulching portion needs to be set 15 degrees LESS than the angle you're using to sharpen the cutting section. ruclips.net/video/muNntkofcYQ/видео.html ruclips.net/video/YQd8xbZgkq0/видео.html Thank you for checking in, and for your interest. I hope this is helpful.
@@AllAmericanSharpener thanks for the response. I was actually out in the garage setting everything up before I seen your reply. I was able to get it right with great success. What’s odd about mine is it’s a the same angle on the top and bottom part of the mulching blade. Worked out perfectly just going straight across it. Thanks again
I might buy one if it was adaptable to be able to sharpen the blade from the opposite end. In other words, the blade swung up 180º, so it can be ground toward the blade, instead of away from it, so as not to leave a burr.
😆 We have another company that makes industrial engravers, and has a contract with a brass instrument manufacturer. Those were for some engraving tests.
All of the demostrations on RUclips show using a new blade with a good square outer corner. How about showing how to sharpen a good used blade with a worn rounded outer tip or is a person suppose to throw the blade away?
The more dull the blade is, the more time it will take to get the edge back. But the All American Sharpener will still remain consistent and effective either way. Below is a link to a video that should show you what you want to see. We are not associated with this RUclips channel in any way. ruclips.net/video/a6UmLZKnl2o/видео.htmlsi=fqKkwJN-vQ_zP2Bp&t=343 Thanks for your interest!
GrassDaddy did a review of this product, and it grabbed my attention. I've been grinding by hand for the past couple of years, and I replace the blades each year because hand grinding without a jig wrecks them as I am not very precise. After watching your videos, I took the leap and purchased one. I look forward to getting mine and getting a good grind on my blades.
Interesting comment. That suggests to me that you should be grinding off that rounded edge to keep it square, and replacing the blade when you grind off enough of it.
Why is the sharpened edge for all that length, 7" to 9"? All that does is make room for the blade to have a really short life span and maybe shorten anyone near to suffer a shortened life, I've seen that happen from a blade piece come out of mower deck. The cutting edge speed nearer to the center of the blade length is not sufficient to cut at any RPM speed of current mowers.
That would be a good question for the engineers and companies that make the blades. We just sharpen the edge that the mower blade companies manufacture.
I bought the new gen 5005. It is terrific. Sharpened my Scag blades and Exmark. But my 12 foot batwing Progressive mower (7 blades) all sharpen on the left side when put on the system. Is there any way to make the Sharpener work on a left edge blade?
Hi Bill. Yes, I believe you are referring to a left hand or counter rotating mower blade. To sharpen a blade like that, you will actually be sharpening the edge below where the blade is mounted in the vise system. The link below will take you to a demonstration video of this. It's not the same blade as yours in the video, but the same principle applies. ruclips.net/video/AmlqcATxdAQ/видео.html We hope this is helpful!
@@AllAmericanSharpener Thanks for the quick reply! I will be at the shop as soon as I can get more tiime and see if I have the 5005 EXT., otherwise, as always, the All American Sharpener has figured a way to do the job! Great product.
@@billfendley7531 - No problem. If you have the 5005 Gen 2, then you have the longer arms (each will be 9.5" instead of 8"). That is the equivalent total length of the older 5005 EXT Model (which we no longer make or sell). So you should be in good shape. 👍
Been watching several videos on how to sharpen a lawnmower blade. From each one I gained a new piece of knowledge. From you I learned that there is a regular blade and a mulching blade. Had no idea that was a thing. But thank you for mentioning this as my mower is a mulching mower. Had no idea my blade is different from the guy next door. I gave you a “like” and subscribed.

Rebecca Machado We really appreciate you taking the time to give us feedback. And of course we're glad your experience has been positive! We hope it will last you for generations.
Thanks, mine is "in the mail".
Mask up... Metal and sandpaper grit grinding dust isn't nothing to play around with in your lungs...

Thats a great idea Charlie
Thanks! I will be ordering one very soon. I do mine by hand but I notice that my angle is moving towards 45 deg slowly. This will eliminate that creeping angle. Just what I've been looking for.
You're welcome. Thank you for your interest!
Just seen this on a lawn care video you new to put this on tv never will pay to get mine sharpened again
Thanks! Maybe one day we will have it on TV. We appreciate the compliment.
Just what I need but a little to price for me. This is my 2 seasons on my landscaping/lawncare business and this will be a great tool to sharpen my equipment blades.
Project Farm just did a video comparing sharpening jigs, tools, and methods. He pretty well sold me on the All American.
I got my 5005 today. WOW !!! Fast and easy. Makes me want to do it. I hated sharpening blades. I clamped it to my welding table. Love it !!!
Thanks Pete! We're glad to hear that. There is definitely a positive side effect of wanting to sharpen your blades more often, ha ha! We appreciate your business and support.

All American Sharpener 8
What's the point in having the angles labeled if you just quickly adjust it without looking on the mulching blade? 2 different angles, both are supposed to get a 30 degree angle ????
Hi Chris. On the Model 5000, there are 2 settings specifically for commercial bi-level mulching blades. They are marked more just so you can remember which setting is for what. On our newer Model 5005, there are multiple settings. So it is important to have them marked to come back to the same settings every time you sharpen a specific blade. Different blades need different angle settings. The angle adjustment is needed because of the tilts or twists in a blade. Here is a link to video that might give you a better idea of why the angle settings need to change. ruclips.net/video/VejPPKBv_9o/видео.html
Most times, the adjustments are in order to keep the factory angle, which is usually close to a 30 degree edge.
Thanks for your interest! Hope this helps. If you have more questions, you can email us at support@allamericansharpener.com
@@AllAmericanSharpener Awesome, thanks for that detailed explanation !!
check out a locking hinged knee brace. they give you full 90 degree range of motion if you desire, otherwise you can put pins in the hinge to lock the movement from exceeding certain degree's. maybe that could be of use of the design. i want to get me one of these. I just started my own lawn service late last year but I'm looking to make a big push this year

I've seen a bunch of blade sharpening guides, this appears to be the simplest version and most accurate by far with for mulching blades and with a common hand grinder. A nice straightforward presentation.
Thank you! We admire quality and simplicity in other tools, so we strive for that in ours as well.

For me as a new customer this is the best video for me to learn how to mount and use it. I bought the 05 version. This is an elegantly simple design. I need to remember to position the angle correctly. Forgot that the first time and I was grinding at the wrong angle. Oops.
I know you covered it but I missed it.
We're glad the video has been helpful. Thank you for your purchase and your feedback!
Excellent tutorial. Going to get me one,. Many thanks.
Looks like a great device. Can it be made to attached to a vise with out damaging it ? It looks like it would throw off the design.
Thanks Lou! Yes, the mounting bracket can be turned around and clamped in a vise without any issue. You can see a demonstration of this in the video at the link below.

Thanks for the comment, Rodney! We're glad you are happy with it!
I meant to type my 5005 but didn’t have my glasses on..... Anyway ITS A GREAT PRODUCT !!!!!

I have been using mine for a couple of months. It’ s a great, well made product. Thank you!!
You're welcome. We appreciate your business, and we thank you for your support!
I have been using this for a couple months now and love it.
Thanks, Park! That's great to hear!
Don't bother with screwing it to a bench surface. Just flip the angled piece and then mount it in a bench vice. I actually dreamt that solution!
That's definitely a great option!
Just received mine today, works great easy to use..
My thoughts on this item?
1 - Shipping was lightning fast. I ordered Wednesday evening, and it was at my door Friday morning.
2 - The item was packaged very good, and had all hardware required to assemble along with very clear instructions on how to use the jig
3 - The quality of this product rivals anything I've seen to date.
Nice..I need this asap!!
I just received, anxious to use, love it. Slice my index so that satisfy my need and time to watch this instruction.
I so need this...I cannot maintain an angle by hand even if my life depends on it. Word of advice, make something like this but for knives. I have an ESEE izula 2 that needs to be sharpened but finding a quality knife sharpener person is hard to find around here.
Hi Caleb. Thanks for your input! We will add it to our list of requests. :-)
Thank you for your comment and support! We appreciate your business.

I will share a photo link below:

This my be a silly question but how do I determine the pin size for my grinder ? Also, since I use various mower blades in my fleet (i.e. standard, gator, high lift, etc.) which sharpener model would you recommend - 5000 or 5005?
We include 4 different adapter pins with our sharpeners, and one of them should fit your grinder. There are a few exceptions, and I will include a link to the spreadsheet we have been building with common grinder thread sizes. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vQDszcT1Z3vLhwPYrQa8IxdN3aFanMZCHrbS1JR59SUGMEfMzpHl9Wq2yG_ZLJktflkmwhpD8FVtdjY/pubhtml?gid=69379172&single=true
If you are sharpening a variety of blades, the Model 5005 will be best suited to that. It allows you to adjust the angle from 15 degrees to 45 degrees (in 5 degree increments), and should accommodate most anything you throw at it.
Thanks a million!

Feedback on my new 5005.
I Consider it a winner. I finally was able to sharpen a blade from my Woods 60” ZTR. It worked great. I found my blades are angled at 45 degrees. I need to sharpen and balance several blades so I will be switching over to a standard grinding wheel.
Thank you for the follow-up. We're glad that you are happy with it!
dose it have to be a dewalt
That would be a pretty slick upgrade!
It's called a Magna Matic blade balancer. Exact same design you're inferring that he add to his design.
Can the sharpener sharpen the Toro Timemaster 30” blades?
Thanks!
Absolutely. This video has relevant information, but it was created before we made our Model 5005. That is the model you will want for those blades. You will likely need the 35 or 40 degree setting on the Model 5005 to match the factory bevels on Toro Timemaster blades. Thank you for your interest!

@@dailyDIYdude Glad you had a successful first go at your blades!
I might buy one if it was adaptable to be able to sharpen the blade from the opposite end. In other words, the blade swung up 180º, so it can be ground toward the blade, instead of away from it, so as not to leave a burr.
why are there tubas in the background?

All of the demostrations on RUclips show using a new blade with a good square outer corner. How about showing how to sharpen a good used blade with a worn rounded outer tip or is a person suppose to throw the blade away?
The more dull the blade is, the more time it will take to get the edge back. But the All American Sharpener will still remain consistent and effective either way. Below is a link to a video that should show you what you want to see. We are not associated with this RUclips channel in any way.

Looks good to me
Thanks Scott!
Yes please
nice product, over time blade corners round off, makes it harder to sharpen correctly.
Thanks Joe!

Happy to pass along some useful information!
Thank u! Great job my friend
