Brilliant idea for a Dragon egg! A couple of questions though; 1) Isn't the egg supposed to have a scale texture on the outside? 2) How were you able to paint the inside without cracking the egg (as shown in your other samples)?
I got my egg made after 3 attempts. I finally left it in the balloon overnight then used a razor blade to cut the balloon off. I used 1 part water to 2 parts plaster of Paris

kalkiller Your problem might be the quality of the plaster you are using. There's also the chance you are handling the plaster filled balloon too roughly as you rotate it. My first few attempts ended up cracking because I wasn't gentle enough, but slowing down and holding the balloon very lightly gave me very good results. Hope I helped!

@david Air Because he's making a GoT dragon egg, in the show and books the dragon eggs have scales on the outside, however in Merlin the eggs are plain. In Eragon we see 3 types, the plan, the veined and the scaled.
To be fair, the creatures in Game of Thrones aren't even real dragons. In western culture, dragons have two hind and two front legs, along with the wings. In Game of Thrones, the so called "dragons" only have hind legs and wings. So technically speaking those creatures are wyverns.

do you let the plaster dry overnight before making hole? I also tried but i think i used too much plaster it keeps breaking in balloon.
