You're welcome! That's fantastic! Modeling paste and stencils work beautifully in paintings. Sometimes I mix the color in and other times I paint it on top. There's so much versatility when using mediums.
Thank you! It's an older The Crafter's Workshop Stencil. Here's the link to my website for where to can get the stencil on Amazon. hopalongstudio.com/unique-collage-techniques-with-tissue-paper-gel-prints/
Great question, pouring medium is generally much thicker and more expensive than matte medium. While matte medium is used as a glue and sealant, pouring medium is often used for paint pouring and for creating even, sealed layers on a piece. Though both have an acrylic base, the pouring medium will dry very shiny. I've never used pouring medium in place of matte medium, but if that's all you have, I would maybe try thinning it out with quite a bit of water. I'm not sure how it would actually work, I don't know if if would have the right consistency for collage. If you don't have matte medium, you could try modge podge or thinning out white glue as possible substitutions.
Oh, that's so true and such a good point! There's part of me that doesn't want to alter the Japanese paper because it's so fabulous on it's own, but you're right, there are so many amazing ways to alter it!

Is pouring med the same as Matt medium?
