- Overwatch 2 Ramattra Origin Story HYPE! We have Null Hector - our first Omnic tank - coming to Overwatch 2 soon! Here's his origin lore and story, and some background as to where he's come from - as well as some initial details from the OWL Finals stream on his abilities and kit!

The wait for Mauga will continue, but hopefully they are serious about "continuing the story." Either way, I'm glad to know that the second choice was number 36.
I think they are, fingers crossed. Let's just see what the cost will be for PVE in future!

We just got some "leaked" photos the line up with the whole two form in the picture he's got an extra set of arms that at massive and are attached to his back by the looks of it and it seems in that form he's got a doom fist like block and his shield seems to be a tall circle which is really interesting lol take this all with a grain of salt lmao
He's gonna zap with one and shield, the has his Nemesis too!
a tank that thrives in the backline will be an interesting idea. puts more pressure on the rest of the team to perform well, unless he has some method of protecting them without actually being front and center tanking damage.
What are the odds that I just finished watching the X Men series and this character’s story parallels with it so well. Zen is like Professor X and Rama is like Magneto. Rama is tired of losing brothers and Zen, who is like a brother to Rama wants peace despite Zen being more intersections in devotion to the Iris but still there’s some parallels there

I'm curious if the "Nemesis Form" is a temporary ability transformation, or perhaps his ultimate. I'm recently coming around to the latter, just going off normal gameplay flow dynamics. Like, he's a protective tank with some damage capability for the majority of the game, but then his ult is almost like a Winston Primal Rage that lets him wild out and just start messing everyone up.
temp ability transformation is my guess and his ult been leaked it’s the DIRECT OPPOSITE of sigmas: the ult basically turns gravity up (slowing ppl down or maybe even paralyzing them in a way) It has an okay distance basically the same as sigmas ult i believe. Take it with a grain of salt tho cuz it is just a leak

Love the videos as always, but I wanted to mention that the voiceover audio in most of the recent videos has been really quiet. Not sure if that's because of the background music being too loud or the voiceover not being loud enough, but I definitely have to turn my phone all the way up to hear anything. Just wanted to let you know in case it's something that can be looked at. Keep up the awesome OW content!
Okay, okay, so maybe you do not remember, but long ago when you went through Tracer's comic story with the omnics, I theorized various reasons for the omnic saying "We're all that's left" when we know that Orisa exists and is, at least out-of-universe, considered an omnic. The theories ranged from "production of omnics are outlawed almost everywhere" to "they do not consider examples like Orisa TRUE omnics, only those from before and during the war are considered so".
Ramattra's origin lore seems to support that latter theory, as the interview also says. Most omnics would never think of Orisa as one of them, maybe because she more clearly acts on algorithms, as seen in the novel about Efie, rather than whatever actual consiousness the omnics do. For them, the only omnics are those from that war generation.
It is a shame that they do not allow two tanks together anymore, would be fascinating to hear Orisa and Ramattra talk about this! How does he view Orisa, or Echo, for that matter? Though I never will play him or tanks much anymore after they changed Orisa, I look forward to that!
Indeed, good shout on this! Maybe Efe is a new generation like Echo, bit not 'the same' to these omnics that consider themselves self-awakened!
Ramattra and Null Sector Theory
1. Ramattra is like Magneto while Zenyatta is like Charles Xavier.
2. There is lore that Null Sector's primary objective is to build a safe city for Omnics (similar to how Magneto built Genosha, a haven city for Mutants).
3. Ramattra works with Talon. Doomfist is a villain, yes but he knows humans cannot always fight omnics forever. Doomfist is not a war profiteer but other heroes see it that way.
4. Doomfist likely will work with Ramattra to cause a second Omnic World War and destroy the weakest and most corrupt of humanity during the war. The war will end on Doomfist's terms which can benefit Ramattra and Null Sector in forcing humanity to make peace and give omnics equality gradually over time. Doomfist is a villain but not a liar as he wants what is best for humanity but he still values how omnics can help humanity in the long run. That is why Doomfist respected Numbani's omnics like Orisa.
5. Overwatch still believes Talon is run why War Profiteers but that is not the case anymore after the Masquerade event (which is an event only current Doomfist loyalists know).

Hey Hammeh, love your videos! But your audio is always way too low :/ Makes it very hard to hear, especially if you're doing something else at the same time (e.g. cleaning the house). It would be great if you could boost the volume on future releases! Great video as always!

Well I think this combines the lore both from Tracer's "London Calling" comic and Symmetra's "Stone by Stone" story. In Stone By Stone it was established that the Shambali Omnics (at least), became sentient after a sentient omnic named Aurora sacrificed herself and ascended to the the Iris. In Tracer's comic it was established that the number of omnics--or at least sentient omnics--is fixed, that there are not new sentient omnics being made. There may be new war machine omnics being produced by an omnium in Siberia and probably off the coast of Korea (as we saw with the Gwishin) but that doesn't mean those omnics are sentient since they'd likely be serving the God AI of that omnium.
@@sarahtinkham7671 Thanks for clearing that up. It sounded like a retcon to me at first too but it does make sense after the factories got shut down that omnic populations became more scarce. And it makes sense lower-ai omnics being mass produced don't have much sentience.

I don’t get the reveal of how Omnics are finite. There is literally so much evidence against it
Efi created Orisa as a newly built omnic, which Chu confirmed was the case. I know he’s not there anymore but still very much worth noting
The Rio PvE mission is literally stop a ship that keeps creating Omnics
Volskaya industries started making new mechs because the Siberian Omnium reactivated and started to make new aggressive omnics
They are not limited by human body’s, they are advanced machines with sentient souls they don’t face the same physical toil. Yes they can die but it takes a lot more to kill them, they can repair and rebuild themselves providing they are still online.
I genuinely think they have scrapped a majority of the PvE and gone in a different direction since the announcement 3 years ago. Some of the new reveals just don’t line up. Kiriko grew up with Hanzo and Genji despite her being early 20s and those two being 35 and 38. Widow seemingly has a death wish for Sombra despite having no issue to work together in the PvE preview at Zens temple. It sometimes seems like the lore is written on post it notes at Blizzard HQ and just go off new ideas that they come up with at the time of writing
Omnics with human inteligence and a soul are a special kind, thats what cant be repliced whnr one of these omics are killed

Omnics are different from Warmachines. Orisa is just a machine with a personality module, she still has a “Primary Function” programmed by Efi as stated in her origin. Same with Echo she is Liao’s Echo. Bastion, Echo and Orisa are all just War Machines experiencing an awakening into true Sentience like the Original Omnics did.
He means they can’t be mass produced any more because all the omniums that made them are shut down or destroyed, also they can’t reproduce like humans can, if you’re catching my drift. Basically they are dying way way faster than they are being made
That’s how lore is created. Seeds are planted some sprout some don’t. Timelines get fudged and stories get retconed. If everything came out exactly like it was 3 years ago I would be worried.

If omnic sentience cannot be reproduced how come Orisa, a sentient omnic, was made after the awakening had already happened? This just makes no sense to me, it seems like a huge plot hole
Definition of sentience maybe Ramattra is wrong, maybe Orisa and Echo are different, or Ram sees them as 'inferior'..what did Aurora do to cause omnic sentience anyway? There's plenty of ways to write out of this one.
Orisa has a personality module installed. Plus she has core programming. Same with Echo. She is just a highly adaptive AI. Omnics are truly sentient.

I just hate overwatchs storytelling vehicle- trailers. Unless I guess 2 has some story mode I cant care to care about lol. Ow was great first 2-3 years then dipped so hard.

On one hand, I’m not surprised. I knew I wasn’t gonna get in the moment I heard male tank and none of the boys are really cut out for a tank role (King oozes dps, Overlord is support, and Casino doesn’t meet the qualifications (I won’t lie, I thought he might have a shot but only because Circuit Royale would be a map that he would be connected to)) but I guess this is Blizzard giving the finger to everyone who wanted Mauga. Anyway, I’m off to eat more ice cream and cry some more out of neglect. Maybe next year I’ll finally get added.
