I had iPhones 1 - 7 and then switched to Android. My new iPhone 13 Pro Max arrives on Monday. One of the things that I always hated on the older iPhones was the ever-growing home screens, so the App Library is a welcome update, and long overdue.
I have a tip of my own….. If you miss the home button, you can make one, it’s easy. Go to SETTINGS, ACCESSIBILITY, TOUCH, ASSISTIVE TOUCH, AND TURN IT ON. From there you can customise the button for up to 3 functions. Mine preferred actions are Single Tap=Home, Double Tap=Control Centre, Long Press=Screenshot.
That's brilliant, thank you! Having to swipe up to go back to home screen had been the one major negative of iPhone 13 for me , and now that's sorted! But how do you cancel those settings? as I decided I'd rather have scrollup as 2 taps, not screenshot. Thanks 👍
Remember you don’t necessarily need to put dark-mode shortcut onto the control panel as if you go into the control panel (swiping down from the top right corner) then hold onto the brightness bar then the dark-mode option will be right there at the bottom as an option as well as night-mode and true-tone too

To make screenshot simple by just doing double tap at the back of your phone... you can go to accessibility > touch > back tap *on* > double tap > screenshot. There 's also an option for triple tap which I use for lock screen so I don't need to press any button, LOL. Thanks for this video!

There's a misunderstanding with one of these. The screen refresh rate is variable. That means it's not 120hz all the time and adjusts depending on what's going on with the screen. I think it was even confirmed by someone that unless you're in a game, the refresh rate actually maxes out at 90hz. Chances are, you're not conserving power by switching it to 60hz, unless that setting also uses variable refresh rates, in which case, it won't be much difference anyway.

Just to add a clarification here: Wifi-Calling is a carrier dependent service and not an independent iPhone feature but iPhone supports it. Not all carriers support it and need to be activated via carrier.

Finding apps by using spotlight search works fast for me. Gentle swipe down from mid screen. Select app from Siri recently used OR start to type name of app. For me that usually brings up needed app in first key press. So that’s max three or four clicks for me

Firstly blue light isn’t a thing. Got a friend that works at a optometrist, and most screens in phones today, don’t emit blue light . And blue light doesn’t actually stop you from sleeping. it’s the stimulus; such as music, videos, games and more. These stimulus keep your brain focus on what’s going on (kinda like your brains excited about what’s happening on the screen) and effects your sleeping. This is why focus modes and screen time is how you should approach getting better sleep.

I prefer making my own folders and group the apps I want in there, instead of having to swipe all the way to the back and figure out what map/group the iphone has placed them in, of course you can search for it on that page but if you dont remember the name it might be harder to find.

great video, very helpful. Just one thing, do your eyes a favor and keep that self-adjust 120hz screen (the phone itself will switch anywhere between 10-120hz depends on the application) limit it to 60hz will probably only save you an extra 4 minutes of battery.

By the way, Apple stores have mini-courses that are very good. Some are in person, some are virtual. It doesn't matter if you bought your iphone there or not. One is for new iphone users. I was not new to iphones, so much was review, but some things I hadn't known I could've done even on my old phone! An hour well spent. Tips app on your phone can help with many questions and how tos, and applesupport.com also has 4 min. videos on many topics for troubleshooting or using iphones.
I already had the privacy and dark mode settings done, but the wallpaper, some accessibility and camera settings were really useful. Was getting somewhat annoyed with the basic wallpapers. I'm still using an Iphone X but probably going to upgrade to a 13 pro when the 14 series is officially announced next month, though the oneplus 10 looks very interesting.
I also did not know, after 3 years of owning an Iphone X, that I could tap the volume button then use my finger tip on the screen to control the volume instead of holding the dumb buttons.

I just switched from a Samsung Note 8 to a iPhone 13 pro. The amazing cameras and the Apple Watch were my main deciding factors. I was an iPhone user for years prior to the Note 8, but I’m finding myself needing to relearn iOS again. So much has changed. I am enjoying the new toys but do miss my well synced Google ecosystem. Just an adjustment I imagine.

guys so like i bought new iphone13 pro max and within 1 month of use it dropped one health percentage and I am kinda worried wtf happened cz I didn't even used it that well just some video graphy and my phone was above 40% almost every time I managed it charging percentage not to fall below 40 at all but it still dropped one health and I am like wtff
Agree with a lot of these but i noticed some inaccuracies with the camera part. Most movies are deffinitely NOT shot in 30 fps. Movie standard is and has been 24 fps for a long time. 30 is mostly used for tv broadcasts and just ragular internet video content. I do not recommend you allow the phone to decide what framerate you shoot in either.
Agreed. 24 fps is used for the cinematic "choppy" effect. Personally, (i mean, i don't hate it) but strongly prefer 60fps whenever possible. On my current phone (I'm about to upgrade to the 13 pro max) I can shoot 4k at only 30 fps, but I'm willing to put it in 1080p60 if it means smoother video. Imo, smoother video > higher quality. It's probably placebo, but I think most people (as long as they're not viewing on a 4k monitor) won't be able to tell the difference between 1080p and 4k - however easily tell 30 and 60 fps apart.
I ordered the Mous case and have been impressed. It’s very slim and has good protection and the mag safe works well on it. The quality level seems much higher than the otter box I normally use and it’s much slimmer. The company also threw in a free hybrid screen protector as I asked questions about a screen and lens protector

14:47 don’t mean to be that guy but the iPhone has a variable refresh rate. It’s adaptive and can refresh as low as 10hz per second depending on how fast you’re scrolling/if you’re playing a high fps game.

My favourite tip is “incase you’re out in a coffee shop and loose signal, you can use wifi calling “ where the heck is someone going sooooo far out for coffee that they loose their cellular signal?
Some buildings have thick walls or wires that create a sort of Faraday cage effect... And some places just have bad signal. I'm guessing the signals are strong in your part of town! 😀

Have mine to default 2 taps for camera, 3 for home screen. Very useful when out and about, like hiking or camping and want to take a picture/video.

It is not battery friendly, that’s why low power mode automatically limit frame rate to 60 hz

What's it like having a phone that can't pick up cell signal or wifi because of the emf blocking case?

Agreed. 24 fps is used for the cinematic "choppy" effect. Personally, (i mean, i don't hate it) but strongly prefer 60fps whenever possible. On my current phone (I'm about to upgrade to the 13 pro max) I can shoot 4k at only 30 fps, but I'm willing to put it in 1080p60 if it means smoother video. Imo, smoother video > higher quality. It's probably placebo, but I think most people (as long as they're not viewing on a 4k monitor) won't be able to tell the difference between 1080p and 4k - however easily tell 30 and 60 fps apart.
I ordered the Mous case and have been impressed. It’s very slim and has good protection and the mag safe works well on it. The quality level seems much higher than the otter box I normally use and it’s much slimmer. The company also threw in a free hybrid screen protector as I asked questions about a screen and lens protector
where did you ask them about the screen protector
I was asking about what they recommended for a lens cover and they talked about the hybrid screen cover. I answered that I only had a question about the lens cover and that I had already bought a screen protector and he told me he wanted me to have the hybrid cover and was shipping one for free.
I have the ocushield blue light screen protector and I also use the night shift so a lot of blue light goes away.

I do a ton of work on my phone so dark mode has always been a big win for my eyes

14:47 don’t mean to be that guy but the iPhone has a variable refresh rate. It’s adaptive and can refresh as low as 10hz per second depending on how fast you’re scrolling/if you’re playing a high fps game.
I just bought the 13 pro max but since the 14 will be coming out in September I’m going to return the 13 and buy the 14 in September.

wow, I am obviously a different market, first thing I do is REMOVE apps and widgets and you are asking for more! 😆 I am 100% only getting this phone for the camera, I don't even plan on installing a sim card if I don't have too.

My favourite tip is “incase you’re out in a coffee shop and loose signal, you can use wifi calling “ where the heck is someone going sooooo far out for coffee that they loose their cellular signal?
Some buildings have thick walls or wires that create a sort of Faraday cage effect... And some places just have bad signal. I'm guessing the signals are strong in your part of town! 😀
