    Unbelievable how good angus was live, doing what he does, all throughout his career, including here as a 16 year old, with nothing but his ears and eyes and Malcolm by his side.
    Astonishing!

    • @timothya.olmeda7299
      @timothya.olmeda7299 3 года назад +7

      @mack perry
      Either way, astonishing!
      Remember, there wasn’t any internet back then, it was all hands on from George and Malcolm and family, or listening to the radio or records.
      Yeah, I knew about them having changed Angus’ age back as far as 1984.
      But that doesn’t at all take away from his shear ability to perform well on guitar whilst flailing away like a raging lunatic having a tantrum.
      Because even at the age of 14 he was amazing.
      And his ability to write amazing songs and leads throughout his career.
      Late teens and early to mid-twenties were his best years. As well as the band themselves.

      George Young, the older brother of Angus and Malcolm, and the band's producer at the time, together with AC/DC's record company (Albert Productions) cooked up a lot of stories regarding the age of Angus. He had a vision of promoting Angus as a "nine year old wonder boy" and that "the band needed some kind of flashy gimmick". The school uniform was only one of many things that Angus wore in the early days. A gorilla suit and a "Super-Ang" outfit were among the things tested before they settled on the uniform. Also, because of his diminutive stature, he could pass for 16, when he was actually 21.

    I have this on a double vinyl bootleg titled "Electric Shock"
    Bought it for $15 in 1980. Cliffside Park, NJ. Place called Music Country.
    I see it's being sold for a lot these days and lots of reissues, fakes, etc.

    Damn BBC ruined the recording with the echo effect… If only there was a way to remix it… Also the BBC must’ve gotten the venue wrong on their Transcription Services LP… Nonetheless, this is still a brillant recording.

      Interesting, I thought the Beeb sound turds must have engaged that echo unexpectedly, as Bon can be heard testing it with short screams. Complete sacrilege to put it on the rawest guitar sound that is Angus. Good job on the rest of the mix in their defence.

      strange as Led Zeppelin also recorded a few of their BBC performances at this venue. So it must exist. It does and it’s address is 12 Lower Regent Street
