Unbelievable how good angus was live, doing what he does, all throughout his career, including here as a 16 year old, with nothing but his ears and eyes and Malcolm by his side. Astonishing!
@mack perry Either way, astonishing! Remember, there wasn’t any internet back then, it was all hands on from George and Malcolm and family, or listening to the radio or records. Yeah, I knew about them having changed Angus’ age back as far as 1984. But that doesn’t at all take away from his shear ability to perform well on guitar whilst flailing away like a raging lunatic having a tantrum. Because even at the age of 14 he was amazing. And his ability to write amazing songs and leads throughout his career. Late teens and early to mid-twenties were his best years. As well as the band themselves.
@mack perry Good to see that you are carrying the torch. I first saw them just before I turned 14, back in 1982, the For those about to Rock tour. Been following them since. Made me a better guitarist and bassist as well. Haven’t seen them live since the BallBreaker tour in 1996. The only members that I haven’t seen live are Bon Scott and Mark Evans.
Astounding recording quality for a live event and better than quite a lot of the bootlegs out there.“Hello Howard friend, next door neighbour. Oh yeah get your fucking jumbo jet off my airport!”

What a great listen. Commentary wise at 12:10 the commentator says Angus is a 16 year old, whereas Wikipedia (yuk) has him at 21 in 1976. All part of the schoolboy persona I suppose?
George Young, the older brother of Angus and Malcolm, and the band's producer at the time, together with AC/DC's record company (Albert Productions) cooked up a lot of stories regarding the age of Angus. He had a vision of promoting Angus as a "nine year old wonder boy" and that "the band needed some kind of flashy gimmick". The school uniform was only one of many things that Angus wore in the early days. A gorilla suit and a "Super-Ang" outfit were among the things tested before they settled on the uniform. Also, because of his diminutive stature, he could pass for 16, when he was actually 21.
Holy sh1t! “It’s a long way to the top” is in B! I always thought A. “Live wire” is definitely B and it’s effectively the same chord progression as “Long way”. He giveaway is the E major with the low E during the chorus. (The whole concert is down a half step.)
I wouldn't read much in this release. The Peel Session recorded in June 76 has Live Wire and High Voltage played with guitars tuned flat, just like the original release of this concert. Here the recording has been sped up and everything sounds sharper.
I have this on a double vinyl bootleg titled "Electric Shock" Bought it for $15 in 1980. Cliffside Park, NJ. Place called Music Country. I see it's being sold for a lot these days and lots of reissues, fakes, etc.
