How to Fix Chevrolet Cruze Chevy Orlando 2, 3, 4, 5 Buttons Remote Flip Key Shell Replacement Steps

If you are a Chevrolet owner and suffered the same fate of having broken or disintegrated press buttons on the remote key FOB, this simple replacement video might be handy which will provide you the confidence to replace your remote key shell easily.
Note Below:
1) the Chevy stock key shell is pressed together with superglue without any screw.
2) after-market key shell is held together with a screw beneath the bow-tie emblem on its back cover.
3) if you are changing from the original key shell to an after-market key shell, you need to remove the tiny pin that holds the key blade onto its holder and swap the blade over to the new blade holder. Otherwise, the key blade will not latch when you fold or flip close the key.
4) however, if you're changing from an after-market key shell to another after-market key shell, you can swap the entire key blade and its holder over to the new key shell. No removal of the tiny pin or swapping of the key blade is required in this case.

The most challenging part was swapping the key-blades that little pin did not want to stay put for me when I was hammering it in but then I was able to hold it in place with electrical tape and get it to go :)

You don’t have to drive out the pin you can just swap everything over to new shell.

Thanks for the video. My only critique is that when you reassemble the keyfob, the section where you reinstall the battery clip and battery (3:13) we can't see how it is assembled. You might want to refilm that section because it is critical to putting it back together. Thanks again.

Just replaced the fob on an Equinox and simply switched out the entire blade assembly. No pin driving and reinstalling necessary. Much easier.

If you're only moving the blade from one bob to another, why knock the pin out? Just move the blade in its holder.

The demonstration was accurate except for one thing. When you are opening the original key it is very difficult. It’s manufactured sealed and you have to break it open. Be careful not to damage the mother board when doing so. Good luck mine worked but the spring action for the key so good but that could be my fault lol
