- In this video I demonstrate how to play 6 KISS songs including I Was Made For Loving You, Domino, Tears Are Falling, Heaven's On Fire, I Love It Loud and Lick It Up. With KISS wrapping up their 50 year career on Dec 2nd, playing their final show at Madison Square Garden in New York City, I felt this lesson was appropriate. Love 'em for hate 'em, there's no arguing KISS' impact on the music industry and rock n roll. DUDE! MARTY! MAN! You've touched on KISS tunes that NO ONE dared touched on, and for that, you have a new sub here! I've been a PROFESSIONAL MUSICIAN and PROFESSIONAL AUDIO ENGINEER in Las Vegas for 40 years. I've played up and down the Sunset Strip in Hollywood and up and down the Vegas Strip, chasing the illusive Rock-N-Roll record deal! I actually not only got to meet my Rock-N-Roll Hero's several times, I got to professionally work with them! I had my walls plastered with KISS posters and pages cut out of magazines. Most guys play Smoke on the Water as their first song on guitar. Mine was Firehouse! In fact, I didn't stop until I learned all of KISS ALIVE! LOL 😂😅
Long story of a kid watching 👀 all of his Hero's on MTV in a small town in Indiana that got on a plane three days after his 21st birthday to L.A. and ended up not only meeting most of those MTV bands, but opening for them with my band and becoming friends with many of them! Anyway, I've been binge watching your channel and I love your down to earth, genuine, and knowledgeable vibe! You have a new sub and a new fan here, bro!

Marty - you did it again man! Thanks for throwing Domino in there as I’ve always liked that song, I like the acoustic version they did on MTV unplugged. I could tell you liked it too cause the little laugh after you did the first opening lick, and then your dog even got up, wagging his tail!

Revenge to me is the best Kiss album. Bruce Kullik came up with some amazing guitar tracks and licks on that album.

The Hal Leonard signature licks book that I have from the 80s - 90s shows Tears Are Falling being a 9 / 11 power chord on the A & D strings lead me to believe that Paul did indeed have everyone tune down to Eb for the song. That would make sense. Thanks for this tab man

Your a great guitar player and teacher. I'll tell you a kiss story. in the mid 90s I went to a show called the blaze fest. It had a bunch of bands, like Open Skys, XYZ, Mr Big,who was supposed to be the headliner. Kiss decided to show and bumped mr big as headliner. All the band's were awesome. It was at a place called they Odium, just outside chicago. Pretty small venue. When kiss stated playing they seem to think they were in a stadium. Every note Jean Simmons played made your heart skip a beat. now I know what it means face melting loud. I had to leave before they finished the 1st song, and my buddy who was a diehard fan only made it through the second one, we left along with probably half the audience. So when anyone tells me I m playing to load🤤 good luck to anyone going to that last show, I advise investing in ear plugs.
Thanks for the compliment! Yeh the good old days with life amps. Sadly, many a band (and sound man) would peel the paint off the wall mixing live bands. I remember being front row at a lot of shows where the kick drum felt like it was moving my entire body. At sound check the roadie would hit the kick drum and you just knew it was about to be devastation within the next 30 minutes. Lol

Cool video. Lick It Up and Domino are probably my 2 favorite non makeup era Kiss songs.
Revenge was a strong album overall. I like a lot of the 80'stuff, in segments. Full albums not so much. But they had some really catchy tunes for sure. 😎🤟🏻
