This takes me way back. My dad had 5 brothers, and when I was born, I was the 1st girl born in 55 years in my family. My dad started the Search and Rescue program where they trained high school boy scouts, they called Explore scouts, to search and rescue lost people in the mountains or where ever someone was lost or missing airplanes, etc. This program has now gone nation wide. A group of boys from our area came to talk to my dad about being their group leader. My dad agreed with the stipulation that I was off limits for these boys. I was only about 12 or 13 at the time. Most of these boys treated me like a little sister as they watched me grow up. Always trying to talk me into baking them cookies. A couple year later, my dad's friend who was a Captain in the Shariff Department, wanted his boy to join the Explore group. The boy had no idea that I was off limits, .and he wanted to ask me out and I was only about 14 at the time. Still riding bikes, and horses and playing with dolls. He asked me to go out to dinner and a movie with another couple who my dad knew. I was so shy, that this boy would call me up every night and I would barely talk to him. We basically just listened to each other breath. So I asked my parents if I could go out with him. My dad made him come over and took him down to the basement and had an hour long talk with him, where he basically scared him to death. The boy came up from the basement with his face flaming red and said to me, "I have to go! He actually ran out of the door. I had no idea if I could go or not. When my dad came up from the basement, I asked him if I got to go. He said no. I got so mad because he put this poor kid through so much. Then my dad started laughing and said he was kidding. He let me go, but we had to have everything timed out as to when the movie got out and the drive home. I am sure the only reason I got to go was because my dad and the boys dad were friends. I am still friends with this man and his wife, all these years later. To top it off, my dad made all my dates have a long talk with him until I was 18. He scared them all! It's funny though, all these young men came over to visit with my dad long after I no longer dated them. Several of them even came to his funeral. That is a long time. They had a lot of respect for him.

It sounds like a perfect moment to do it honestly and like Austin's MO😂. And if they are engaged, it would explain why they now feel comfortable sharing their story considering they've been dating for more than a year

Allie said Austin once attempted to court her when she was 16 but she was so scared then. Her grandma said that she might end up with Austin.
