What a beautiful green place with crisp springs and mountain drops.
Thanks for watching. Green because we get a lot of rain which makes dry weekends a hit and miss matter.
that music activated my fight or flight response
Shelly Why can I suggest you try watching some of my other Bikepacking films like Glen Etive instead. Thank you.
Great video. Im hoping to do something similar over the next few years. I’ve just been let down on a 2018 Marin Pine Mountain which would have been my ideal bike. Plus size tyres, steel frame, old school. Not sure at all what to go for now but watching videos like this makes me all the more determined to sort it. Thanks for sharing!
Lee Hine Thanks for watching. Hope you get your bike choice sorted. Just bikepacked Glen Affric so new film coming here soon.
Beautiful nature 👍 great trip
Cracking route! I did the section from Blair Atholl to the Falls of Tarf & back in a day back in 2014 with a cousin & uncle from New Zealand. Still one of my top rides ever & one I mean to repeat. And I keep seeing people on fat bikes doing the sort of riding I want to do with my wife so I guess I need to go bike shopping 😁
Brilliant video, watching from Chile.
WATP thank you
Nice trip! Really enjoyed watching and fantastic scenery.
Thank you for watching. Can I recommend the latest trip I made to the Isle of Harris The Postman's trail.
You certainly can, heading there now!
what a beautiful moment
Thank you for watching. Yes and finding the location next to the waterfall. I also have Bikepacking Glen Etive and Loch Garry videos too.
Muito bom.. . Eu também vou começar a fazer bikepacking aqui no Brasil. Esse modelo de aventura está começando , quase ninguém conhece. Muito bom o seu vídeo. Parabéns
Marcotrilha Thx for watching and the feedback. Appreciated.
I would have gone about 15 feet out of the forest and thought, "Camp here -- it can't get more beautiful than this."
Exactly what we were thinking. Chance find. Quite unique. Anywhere else on the river is grass heather midges. The patterns in the granite river bed rock were amazing. Been others places (see other videos) and we def do this again.
well that song aint gonna make top ten on top of the pops is it
experiment54 Yes you probably right
A lot of great mountain biking videos have really awful music, for some strange reason.
Great video do u know the total route distance?
Alhamdulillah.. You have around your beautiful country a piece of gift from The Only One GOD, Enjoy Your Life Time.. Salam from Indonesian BikePackerRider. Amiin.
Again thank you for watching. Agree it is a beautiful place. Just one small problem the Scottish Midge. Look them up. You see what I mean. Got eaten alive today filming
nice video and great music.
Thank you
Did you do all three burn crossings and make it to White Bridge? How was the trail north of Falls of Tarf? We are planning a bike tour and thinking of riding from Blair Atholl to Braemar up the Glen Tilt but not sure of trail conditions or bike type requirements. Or how much push-a- bike required. Thanks for posting and any information
Hi, yes we did cross all 3 burns to Whitebridge. They were ok. You may want to see this video get an idea of the trail north of the falls round to the Lin of Dee --> ruclips.net/video/2yGUMPFwnVk/видео.html. It is singletrack, wet and push a bike in places. Definitely a mountain or fat bike imo.
Looks like a nice ride, beautiful country ! Do you give verbal comments in some of your videos ? Would be nice . Thanks
David Moseley Hi yes I do in my later bikepacking videos, see bikepacking Glen Etive. Thanks for watching 👍
Beautiful countryside and trails and your big tired bikes seemed up for the match. (I take it you'd rather wear your pack, than suspend it from your seat, the latter allowing for a more comfortable ride??)
Thank you for watching. The fatbikes are our go to bike for bike packing. We do have saddle packs on the bike. we just carry a lot of gear. The backpacks are light as we carry our clothes in those and put the heavier small stuff in the saddle bag. I have more bike packing films in the area.
Great video. Did u go anticlockwise ?
Roughly where did u camp?
Scott Wilson: This trip was an out and back on the same trail. We were planning to take in the two bothies north west and east of where we camped. We camped up stream from the white bridge.
Great video! Do you happen to have a GPX route file of this, or any other way I can get the route?? Thanks!
Tobias: sorry no GPX file. We use OS 1:50000 maps. Literately the whole route follows the river. There is either a double or black track beside the river marked on the map.
Illya Rudkin ok cool, will check it out! Thanks.
Hi, nice video! Just wondering if these are plus size or fat tyres? Also, is to comfortable to bikepack with a backpack like that? How many litres were they? I'm thinking I would need to also use a backpack to bikepack as I can't fit everything on my bikepacking bags and want to go off-road so panniers aren't practical.
Oh seems by another comment it's a fatbike. Do you find that fatbike tyres look way thicker in real life than on film, because when I see a fatbike in real life I can't come to terms with the wideness of the tyres, but when I see videos of them being ridden, they look way skinner and just like normal and not monster truck thickness.
Are your tyres 4 inches, because when I see 4 inches in real life it doesn't look like on videos!
Hi Arahorn. Thank you for watching. Both bikes have 26"x4.0" tyres, got used to their apparent width, anything else looks skinny lol. The backpacks are 32 litres in which we carry the lightest stuff like clothes unless its camera equipment. We always use a backpack when we MTB so we are used to it. The weight of the handlebar bag can make the bikes handle weird more than anything else. Compared to some bike packers we do carry a lot. We like our luxuries; tent not tarp, insulation mat, chairs, 2 cookers, campsite warm jacket, change of clothes, battery chargers.... You'll see in my other bikepacking videos with the same equipment there abouts.
@@North3rdMedia Oh that's good that a backpack ends up not being fine. The thing with me is I have a lightweight 3-man tent which, which lightweight, still takes up a lot of space. So if I could put that in a backpack then I could possibly get rid of my rear panniers and just use my bikepacking bags. I have a capacity of 40 litres with my bikepacking bags, not including a backpack. I also tend to take more gear than most bikepackers. I find clothing also takes a lot of space. If I could put the tent, sleeping bag, and my insulated mattress in the backpack, then the rest may just fit in the 40 litres of bikepacking bags.
Yes I know what you mean about the handlebar bag. I've got a 14 litres expedition (water proof) Apidura handlebar bag with the 4.5 litre accessory bag. I've also got a 17 litre saddle bag and two little round ones (1.2 L each) that go behind the handlebars and look like water bottle holders.
I've also got a 7.5 L full frame bag but I don't think I'll be able to use that when I get an off-road rig. At the moment I'm using a hybrid but the tyres aren't near wide enough for the off-road stuff I've been trying to do.
Do you use goosedown clothing or something for all your clothing, does that get the weight and space down rather than using normal cotton clothing from the wardrobe? Like when I go on a trip, I'll be carrying like say 4 cotton everyday jumpers, maybe 3 pairs of cotton everyday pants, and other cotton clothing that I'm sure is taking up a lot of space and adding weight. If I'm to get rid of the rear panniers I've got to do some things differently I think.
Also maybe I might have to eventually cut my losses and get a 1 man tent instead of the 3 man. Would you take a 3 man tent just for yourself when bikepacking?
@@alantaylor6691 Our 3 man tent fits in one of our handle bags (see ruclips.net/video/FS6z5ueUZBk/видео.html 4:23m in). We use Alpkit for a lot of our clothes and kit as they are light and cheap(er). Sleeping bag and jacket (for when in about the tent only) compress down a lot. I stay away from cotton especially for riding gear even merino wool at they are heavy and difficult to dry. Use a lot of light layers plus tight next to skin. The waterproofs are super light and pack up small. We chose a 3 man tent because of the room to bring kit inside. If you are solo then yes less of an issue.
Great video and great music! + Scenery so nice, id love to go fish in that river but iguess its not allowed...
Also, what kind of storage is it in front? How many litres does it carry? And do you need a special bike without wires in front of the bike to put it on?
Thank you. In Scotland the access to roam does not include fishing without permission. The pack on the front is a 20 litre bag the largest Apidura do which is good for tent and poles, under lay, sleeping bag and towel. The bag comes with all the handle bar attachments. However on a full suspension bike those attachments do not account for the fork suspension. Have a look at my video on how I addressed "Bikepacking Apidura handlebar bag + Alpkit Kanga harness = stability " RUclips URL ruclips.net/video/8CUBTWMfwu4/видео.html.
Nice video thank for sharing.
Jan Typl Thank you. No problem. I have made another video bikepacking Cairngorms ruclips.net/video/D9gt5oh5Zjg/видео.html

Very good Vid, but the music...OMG :-(
Thanks for watching and feedback. Music noted :-)
Good video but Jesus I had to mute straight away, just shows how important music choice is.
Thank you for watching 👍
Классный видос! А что за щитки используете?
Gadgets Gear Travels GGT Спасибо. Мы не используем щитки
Google translate щитки = shin guards / shields. Knee pads? No not them either :-)
Крылья, щитки, блотники, брызговики ) - много названий ). Я про fenders, mudguards. Вы же русскоговорящий?
No Russian. Fenders mud guards are SKS fat boys
Ok. Thanks. You have russian name. ) sorry.
Thanks 4 the gaelic nightcore 😁
No problem 👍 😂
It’s a shame this could have been a cool video if it weren’t for that music.
Sean Stewart Yes the music has got to be a very marmite with comments either way. Thanks for watching 👍
Illya Rudkin and I love marmite! It’s not personal I just prefer videos without music. Your video made me miss home though. ✌️
E Bikes?
Thx for watching 👍😀 no ebikes
Great
Great vid.....the music though, not needed.
Ex Gren Thank you 😊
Do you have the GPX file?
Sorry no GPX file. Starting in Blair Athol by the bridge & visitor centre literally follow the river north north east.
What make is your fat bike
Alan McMurray Hi. The Salsa Bucksaw carbon but not a standard build. It's a custom build by myself built with some parts supplied by Charlie the Bike Monger.
Where are the smiles muchachos?
Agustina Gomez Paez Thanks for watching. When we finished it had been a final push effort. Mind we have done more bike packing since then so we did enjoy it
It is a serious adventure! LOL
They are from the UK, smiling is discouraged 🤣😉

Todo muy bonita la musica no mucho
Maravilhoso!

Dragos Ion can I suggest you try watching some of my other Bikepacking films like Glen Etive instead. Thank you.

The thing is, Scotland looks like that all year round, Grey and miserable. and before the hard headed scots get hot under the collar, that was my mate's comment and he's from Glasgow
I'm from dry sunny Australia and I think this is gorgeous, look at all that green, I'd love to it as my backyard.
That's a lot of fash you are carrying.
Hi, yes we are not super lite, there are some luxuries that need to be carried! LOL
Dreadful muzak.
Alex Morgan can I suggest you try watching some of my other Bikepacking films like Glen Etive instead. Thank you.
nice video, uninspiring music. keep on keeping on.
Thanks for watching. Music is better in my other bike packing videos
Sorry but the music ruins what could be a watchable video.
Music track removed as it is now copyrighted. The irony
I found the constant chat distracting.....
Great video do u know the total route distance?
Thank you. Approximately 64km in all. 400m vertical. I have another video top to bottom Cairngorms ruclips.net/video/D9gt5oh5Zjg/видео.html you may like. Again a weekend trip.
