Hey Brompton Guy. Was chatting to you on the ferry to Arran. Said I would check out your channel to see when you post your Arran video. Great to see your last-minute trip was such a success!
Well done on the vid, great trip on a Brompton, I’ll take my Brompton next trip to Arran. Turned the sound off, couldn’t stick the music but thats just personal choice. Other people will like it. Will have a look at your other films, ATB
Excellent, I think the same. Brompton and other companies like Vincita have created excellent bags for traveling comfortably, lightly and with pleasure. I prefer to take care of my back, considering the effort made on the trip, the back should be without load.
I 110% agree! I only used it cause it's all I had and the weather was looking great so was like "I need to just go" and so grateful I did cause I learned a lot. Thanks for watching
What an absolute pleasure! Will be your travel tour guide happily, just name a place you would like to see and if I can ride it I will try. Thanks for watching
The joys of a content creator having to carry more gear (weight) to be able to share the experience. Oh..and the issue of keeping everything charged up! Well done.
Oh, no, unfortunate charging Situation! Poor you 😂 don't worry, we all have been there. Even if it was just realizing the next morning that the charger fell out of the outlet cause of earthquake aftershocks. But, as Konfuzius said: "After charging is before charging" Beautiful scenery and nice trip anyway ☺️☺️
I wish it was as cool as that 😆. Simply left it in my laptop and my laptop died and the phone kept trying to looks for the dead device it was connected to 🫣
Just did a similar distance bikepacking on the Brompton from Pittsburgh, PA to Cumberland, MD on my brompton (only video on my channel haha). It did better than the 20 inch wheels of the other bike we had with us. Anyway, amazing work recording your journey! Would love to bikepack on the Brompton in Europe someday as well. Happy travels.
Just had a watch their interesting to see the Zizzo opted for rear loading and you front loaded, did you decided if one was better than the other? I'm very much the same would love to bikepack other countries. If you make it to the UK let me know and maybe we can do a day together 👌🏻. Thank you for your support to the channel
@@TheBromptonGuy Thanks for checking it out! The Brompton definitely felt more comfortable with dividing the load between the front and rear, but part of that may have been having unbalanced weight on the back of the Zizzo since it only had one side pannier. We actually took turns using the Brompton because it felt so much smoother and somehow just kept momentum better. If we gave it another shot though I’d put thicker knobby style tires on the zizzo and compare how they both ride on the crushed limestone again.
I do certainly get the same thing but don’t find it uncomfortable just a little annoying from time to time. However isn’t all the time just some times. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching
I think it is my first coment on this channel. Really liking this type of content. And we do like the Bromptons. We are Brompton enthusiasts here in Portugal, we have at the moment 3, 2 conventional and 1 electric. The goal is having 4. But about this video amazing Scotish landscapes. I shall say, keep up the good content, also I have a channel. PS: Almost forgot, 😅, I am subscribed to this channel sometime ago. Cheers for the amazing video👌💯.
Thank you so much for the wonderful comment. I love your Brompton! is that the Cooper finish you have it in? I want 4 Bromptons! P, T, M and a P electric.
@@TheBromptonGuy yes it is indeed... It has the raw lacquer finish with gold brazing. And we also have another c line 6 speed orange, that is for my younger sister, and we have a share electric Brompton P line bolt blue lacquer between me and my father, and it is a 4 speed bike. We love the magical push of it. Oh and I am in the process of making some strategic modifications on mine, to be more eficient on climbs and lighter too, without changin the british design of my raw lacquer Brompton!🤎💯🤩
Any Destilleries or other proper targets on this island? Okay I saw Oban! You are able to buy a special hanger with room for a folded Brompton and Brompton size wheels, as extra help! Finn. Denmark
Finn mate always told you when you make it over to the UK we'll hit a distillery for sure. Also I'm currently working on a video about the chpt3 bromptons which I hope you enjoy.
Congratulations, excellent video. One question, why carry a bag on your back, could Brompton bags be better on the front or because of the 10 Kg weight limit, do you prefer to carry more weight on your back...?? It is comfortable to carry weight on your back, it provides freedom and exhausts less..??
Great question! I hate having a rucksack for sure and won't be doing it like that anytime soon, only did it like that cause I don't have the correct bags yet and my friend gave me a tent and was just like "Let's go cause the weather looks nice" all very last moment but major learns from it. That said I think the rucksack helps when climbing step as the weight comes out the saddle with me 🤷🏻♂️
@@TheBromptonGuy OK Take care of your health and we look forward to more videos with Brompton. You plan to create videos with trailers hitched to your Brompton, in the
I did indeed! He was from the Netherlands and had been cycling for around 3 weeks. Some tents and using a website called something like share a shower. Very pleasant dude
It’s me the person with the worst suggestion that many have thought of and put them in the bin where they belong = with me unfortunately don’t have a bin so then you have to read this garbage = so then this weeks word that not be read = why more people who do backpacking don’t consider the trailer Chubby by Radical Design, I my opinion the best trailer suitable for the Brompton, this trailer is completely different and has many attributes especially for the Brompton, the second rubbish idea that hasn’t been invented yet if we forget about the dynamo front wheel that’s available obviously, you would think that something could be made like a mini wind turbine that fit on any bike for the sole purpose of a charger for phone or laptop batteries, as a stupid experiment get a small windmill as used by kids for playing put it on the bike be it handlebars or wherever on the bike see that windmill turn like crazy , that concludes the rubbish ideas for this week , stay tuned for upcoming rubbish ideas.
the trailer Chubby by Radical Design,..???....Without a doubt one of the best folding bike trailers for Bromptons, but carrying a trailer means more work, more accessories and if the dream is to travel light, a trailer may not be the best solution. Yes, I am worried about carrying weight on my back, for health, for ergonomics. I prefer to use the Brompton bags that are located in the front, although they have a weight limit of 10 Kgs. Today there are many possibilities for light and practical Bikepacking. The Vincita company in Thailand (online sales) sells excellent bags and accessories for Brompton, I have purchased 5 items from them (3 bags). Greetings and your comment is excellent.
@@macola1970 listening to your points in regards to weight = travel light ergonomics and bags from vincita made in Thailand which I know of them along with everything else to do with Brompton bikes and accessories from all over our planet, I think can only give an overall opinion based on bike packing without the trailer and then with the trailer at least then you could give an unbiased opinion, personally if you did try the trailer you would definitely be more than pleased it would open up a whole new aspect to your enjoyment = yes it’s that good , I wish you well on life’s path with the trailer make your experience much more easier or without the trailer suffering as you make life’s path harder than what it needs to be .
Great video, one question...what pressure do you run your tyres at when carrying the extra gear on the back and the rucksack? Must be pretty high? Thanks
Always enjoy the input. I honestly think it looks great but I like to keep all the stuff in my tent porch so it's protected and safe where as this trailer would certainly not get under my porch
No reply necessary.
Thanks for sharing.
Its a treat seeing such beautiful countryside.

Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed seeing this little trip. The Brompton is a capable tourer and, loaded up on tarmacked roads, it’s a joy 🤗
It's amazing how this bike is used for long distance bikepacking
It blows my mind! only touched the surface with this first ride. Thanks for watching

Thank you for the feedback John and much appreciated for sure. Still working my formula out for how to best layout a bike packing video.
Nice trip! I never use backpacks for my bikepacking trips, I just hate it. Why not use a front bag?

It's the only reason I was like "I better go do this". Very under prepared but what a journey it was.
Nice video!

Thank you! I would say it adds at least 15% more effort on the trip and another 10% to make the video 🤣
No front bag, radical 😮 looks like a good trip. Rather you than me, too lazy 🦥 and old for this kind of thing. Thanks for sharing.
