I have to definitely try this one out! I'll give it a go and i shall send you a photo! This would make a great pendant or even mini versions for earrings. :-) Carry on with your excellent work Heather! :-) Rory.
Hi Heather, I was looking through my old messages and you asked me about Utee and I never answered you. Utee is Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel. It comes in powder form and turns to a liquid for with heat. The extra thick kind comes in a few different colors which include black, white, clear, bronze, platinum, gold, and I've even seen it in a color called red hot. It's just a thicker form of regular embossing powders used in scrapbooking. However, I have used Utee to embed polymer clay items in. Like I said it's in powder form but they have warming pots you can buy to melt it in or you can use a heat gun to melt it where ever it lays. I have been wanting to experiment with it by mixing it in polymer clay before baking to see what happens. Since it melts with heat I might get an interesting effect. I know there is some sort of technique that Donna Kato is doing with it but I'm not sure how she it using it. I'm wondering if I can dip my clay in it when it is melted to coat my items. I'll try it and let you know how it goes. I have been trying some new ideas with resin and polymer clay to see what ?I can come up with. Have you ever used resin? You have to be careful about the kind of resin you get because some require pressure chambers to use them correctly. Also there are some resins that come out white or even black instead of clear. ICE resin is one of the best for jewelry and you can coat your pieces in it. The is also a channel here on You Tube called "Little Windows" that make a wonderful resin kit. Anyway, I have to go. I hope you and your daughter are feeling better. Take care, Dee
Thank you so much for replying, In one of my books, I saw someone making floral polymer clay beads, then dipping them in the Utee. It looked just like glass. I know I will have to experiment with it one day.
Thank you :) It appears there are a ton of Heather Wells out there in the world. There are a lot on youtube. There is a Miss Ohio? Heather Wells too :)

Hannon866 Hi there :) Thanks for watching, and asking. I use Premo, and Sometimes mix in Sculpey for Color. Some of my pieces cook multiple times. I haven't had a problem with burning. They do cool completely before going in again too though. I have baked some things more than twice. For example my enchilada plates are baked alone, then I add the enchilada bake again, then add the rice and beans, bake again, then add the enchilada sauce and olive, then bake again. I bake usually between 18 - 27 minutes on almost everything at a time. As long as the heat is correct and they are not left in too long they should not scorch.
The triple thick wont work the way the Sculpey glaze did, so I have to come up with a whole new way to do them :( I will be doing a candy theme coming up before the Holidays, so as soon as I announce it suggest rock candy. :) If I can come up with another way I am happy with, and make it, you get it as a thank you gift for participating :)
I haven't tried modgepodge for polymer clay at all. Is it water based? When trying something new, I will put it on a piece, and if it isn't tacky after 6 months it will work. Heather
I will be getting back to the fruits and veggies. I will start work on a new fruit tomorrow. :) I did take a break on the nail themes. I go in on Thursday, and the kids requested Mario this time, so I will try to think of miniatures for my nails the following nail trip :) I am trying to think of what to do next. July is national ice cream month, but I already have several ice creams. I was wondering if I should start Halloween and Thanksgiving early. I also want to do candies, because I thought it would be great to do a miniature candy theme for gingerbread decorations this coming winter. I thought it would be cool to see if any of you want to do candy or gingerbread houses, and post them on instagram, then in early December I could do a slide show of all the people who did the candy houses.
I love mint chip, and this looks lovely!
