Born and raised in America, there were 6 kids in our family. There were days, we were thankfully lucky enough to all have a bowl of rice with a fried egg and a little soy sauce on top. When I was 8 years old, I noticed that our mom didn't always partake in eating with us. When asked, mom would say that she is not hungry or that she already ate... At nine I came to the realization mom didn't eat because there wasn't enough food. Our mom sacrifice for her kids... My family refused to go on welfare or take any government handouts. Maybe that's why today all her kids conquer all obstacles in life with much successes...

Brought me back to my wonderful trips to China and how much I enjoyed being brought into the rich local culture and how lucky I felt then and now to have those experiences. Happy New Year.

Why is the short film theme always so pathetic? Always some poor elderly dude who gets bullied by a spoilt sibling?
