I got a 95 miata with auto transmission. Rust free, 40k miles, service history, all stock for 3k. Spent 300 bucks on a low mileage 6spd and I was having a good time

@@tategenieve5227 it's pretty rare, I have a 93 old rusty miata I got for 1k too. They're around you just gotta be patient and check frequently because they get sold real fast. At least in Phoenix anyway

I know it's a tight fit with the ECU and the master cylinder.. but where the ECU makes solid contact to the body work is where I would add some foam bits to reduce vibration. Those vibrations will break/crack soldered connections on the tiniest diodes and resistors. Not to mention beefier bits like transistors and coil conductors and shits.
It's only a matter of time.
For anyone doing a manual swap on 350z/g35 is really cheap did mine for $800 plus taxes. for everything I recommend going to your local salvage yard. In my case we have one that also has a mechanic there u can find nice low km ones
Yo when you eventually swap the ecu you should get a pre-reflashed ecu. SFR has already flashed units they ship out or you can just send them yours and they'll do the job. It helps the car a lot with the gas petal delay and over all running

1988 BMW 528e auto to manual swap costed me about $2300. Worth it? 1000000%. Do it. Save up your money, and swap it. You will love the control you have over the vehicle.

i drive a 2014 volvo S60 t6 awd. to manual swap my car is 28,000. about 10 times as much as yours. honestly when you said 2500 was a lot i felt a little sad lol. congrats on the swap though, cant wait for the track videos to come out

My 2011 genesis coupe 2.0t auto trans blew out, you think it would be cheaper to manual swap it or fix it with the same auto trans, (taking it to a mechanic to do this not doing myself) and what do you think the total would be including the labor
What did you end up doing? And how did the auto trans blow out? A lot of miles?

After spending all that money on an good clutch would it not be better to get a good lsd instead of welding the diff ? Maybe I’m wrong 🤔
Ended up doing the swap on my Hawkeye for under $1k. Got most parts from a part out car for $350. Had to buy a clutch and all the bushings and stuff.
Was it worth it? How long did it take? and did you do it yourself?

Why did you chose the turbo model and not the 6 cylinder model when it puts out more power and you can turbo it later on. Better for tuning?

If you think about it you dont really need a manual transmission ECU because you are manually shifting the transmission. All the manual ECU is controlling is the engine as long as you shift when you need to I dont see why the auto ECU would have a problem besides not seeing a transmission lol

For the shift knob, it's likely very similar to my BMW's and shouldn't be too hard to find if you look at unbranded BMW knobs

If the ecu controls the engine and there was a tcu for the automatic transmission but the manual never had one then do it really need a different ecu if it only deals with the engine
