One thing I didn't mention which Mark (another Mark) from Patreon has pointed out - hooker Samisoni Taukei'aho (27yo, 30 caps) didn't feature this year. We can assume he will be back from his calf injury in 2025
You're 100% right about Sevu Reece and his behaviour and loss of mana. Just as I was watching, I was thinking about Shannon F and how amazing it is to have someone who seems such a humble gounded person and player in Wallace S bring the absolute beast without the baggage. As that other person mentioned there were some good comments about Frizell by the Squidge Rugby guys last year on one of their shows. You guys are vibing! Great stuff Two Cents
Cheers man yeah I don't expect any players to be perfect in their personal lives, they're all human - but I mean two discharges from convictions.... Nuts
That dork Squidge, like you, don't even know the full story. If that story about Frizzel were true, he would definitely have been charged.. He wasn't.
@@TwoCentsRugby Tbh, I lost respect for the Crusaders as an organisation as a result of their picking him up immediately after his contract in Ireland was torn up after the first domestic violence charge. They would not have “helped the young man” if he had not been an elite rugby player.
I’d be keen to see this for the Scottish team as there’s lots of chat that they have nothing good coming through the pathways, but they’ve built a lot of depth this year. I’d be keen to see that explored
Essentially, the All Blacks are quite a settled team after a year of development. Roigard and Telea have moved ahead of Ratima and Reece now even if the depth chart doesn’t reflect this yet. The team next year will mainly be different in the loose forwards with Cane going, although the versatility if the incumbents (who can shift positions) could allow almost any lock or loose forward to replace him. One hopes that they pick somebody in strong form - and the average age of the team will look after itself after then. Injuries might also shift things.
Yeah was always gonna be a shift in things with the boys leaving after the rugby world cup. You feel like Razor will get the team in a groove as time goes by
ABs are moving into great depth except for 12 and 13 , and this is where I believe we are most vulnerable . No traditional 12 or 13 , no disrespect to Jordy hes a fullback and no disrespect to Ione hes a winger one if the best , if we can find speacilist in these 2 key positions we wouldve beaten South Africa .thanks Two Cents Rugby 🏉 Awesome Chur .
Personally, I always felt that Jordy looked better when he shifted to No.12 a few years ago. He has size and physicality, a lot of skills and a good rugby brain. In the case of Ioane, I think he does the defensive duties well but has never really exploited his athleticism in attack and there is an ongoing concern about his distribution. There could be other options - the AB XV had several and Fainganuku will return in the future too. Another player that has been overlooked because his team was poor was Levi Amua. He looked powerful and, if the Crusaders manage a better season he could make a claim.
@@thumbsup6819 look up Toulon vs Glasgow last weekend. Fainganuku had a great game at centre. I'm hoping he comes back. Might have more to learn but the physicality and distribution skills are there imo
@@rory7590 The answer is Tupaea & Proctor. Should start them every tests in 2025 to prepare for 2027. DMac 22 & Jordie 23 is fine to cover 10-15 & 12-15. Ioane can compete with Clarke & Telea for 11/14.
Crikey, not often you put the shoulder into a player. But have no fear, i doubt ppl would miss him. Very tired of ppl in nz not getting convicted cos it might impact their lives.... Must admit i was definitely a fan if his and very impressed with his SRP form... Really hoping Razor keeps giving dmac more opportunities at 10. I felt like he was really making the position his, particularly vs Ireland
Yeah man he genuinely looked the best Crusader in a pretty bad year for them. But man.... Not that I think players should be on a pedestal.... But still ... Surely this is too much
Great review mate. I’d disagree with Cane and TJ being short term inclusions though. There has to be decent long term benefits there with both players teaching the youngsters how to be an AB.
I was literally thinking at the start of this video how different things could have been. In an alternative timeline Reece would be playing for Ireland now & James Lowe would be god knows where. Reece is a amazing finisher & a great all round rugby player but abit of a doughnut as a human being judging by his record. I'll take Lowes big left boot & good character everyday of the week thanks, looks like Ireland might have dodged a bullet with Sevu.
Sorry, did a double take and had to go back - Fletcher Newell and Pasilio Tosi were both in white - which was white and which one was grey? Would love to see Tosi get some more game time - he was immense!
I wouldn't have played Cane at all unless injury necessitated in and given Hotham a bit more time rather than Perenara. Mo'unga has to come back, and sooner rather than later. I still don't feel Reiko is the right fit at 13, and we probably need some fresh blood in the centres, all though I don't know who that would be right now.
One thing no one seems to be talking about is how Plummer said he chose to move to France due to not being given a chance, and in that he specifically listed Razor going on about wanting to bring Mounga back is one of the things that influenced his decision to leave. Robertson has to be willfully ignorant of the effect his actions are having on lower tier talent at this point, as he already pissed off D'Mac earlier this year with those same comments. Hell, Perofeta never even got a cameo, not even against Italy. Cant wait to see how much more young talent he demoralises with that conservative attitude of his 😑.
Think Reiko's getting benched next year tbh. Better 13s coming through. Clarke is in top form, and Telea has claimed the 14 spot. Reiko will be versatility cover.
Will Finlay Christie be eligible for Scotland in a few years if he isn't selected or does the fact he still get a picked for ABs 15 mean we can't poach him after 5yrs 😛?
Completely agree about Sevu Reece. It seems to me that we Kiwis (including me) like to carry on sanctimoniously about the “No dickheads” policy for the all Blacks, but then we forget about or ignore the fact that we have people like Sevu Reece and Shannon Frizzell who have committed some pretty awful crimes and others before them too. It seems like it is a no dickhead policy unless you’re a good player, although I don’t rate Reece in any case.
Samiseni must return, but the biggest travesty in All Blacks rugby is the absence of Hoskins. It's shocking. He outplayed Ardie in Super Rugby and is a true monster No 8 with X-factor skills. It's an indictment on Razer and quite worrying.
I have abiding memories of his Dad, Eroni Clark failing to be able pass the ball effectively playing at 12 against England in 1993. I feel the same about Caleb Clark moving there, where he has never played before as far as I am aware. I could, however, see him shift to 13 though. Indeed, I would welcome the idea of shifting him to 13 and Ioane to 11….

The All Blacks use to be a team where you wonder who the coach is going to leave out. Now it has changed, there are clear standouts who you know will play. I think Razor also used his bench very differently to other coaches. Which once again reflects on how little top players he has at the moment. He like players to stay on for as long as possible. It makes his bench less important and limits his team to mainly 15 players. A player comming on for only ten to fifteen minutes is not often going to make a big difference in a game. I think Razor made a big mistake to not have given more players opportunity to start. The only way to test a player and give him experience and confidence is by starting him.
