Great review as always. Toyota did an outstanding job with this new Land Cruiser. The 1958 is nice, however, adding the LC Premium Package or First Edition are definitely worth consideration. Those packages will add significantly to the price, however, they certainly add to the driving dynamics and appearance.
This car has recently started to sale in Istanbul, Türkiye, but its price starts from 9,750,000 Turkish lira which is something like 286,000 US dollars.
Same in Iran, they have a 100% import tariff on vehicles so it’s minimum $116,000 without markups/bribes/other costs added yet you see plenty of them in Tehran.
I hope Toyota's ugly air dam gimmicks that let them put an one extra MPG on the Maroney sticker don't end up spreading to the rest of the industry. Sure, if you don't like it the air dam you can have it removed, but imagine if every car had an ugly air dam attached to it from the factory. Clad a car with ugly but functional removeable aerodynamic parts that nobody is asking for and put the onus on the buyer to remove them so the vehicle actually looks good and/or has adequate ground clearance.
I just drove one as I wanted to see how I liked the hybrid. The 1958 felt so cheap. The 4cyl had power but sounded buzzy and cheap I hate to say. I then went and test drove a GX. Much better vehicle all around. Apple to oranges spec wise, but I’m leaning Lexus now.
Im struggling to find something nice to say about this vehicle. Guess I will go with what momma says. "If you can't say something nice , dont say nothing at all" Im just not a fan. Wondering if they'll sell well ?
I think its because this vehicle breaks the common trend that most new cars have to be better and more expensive than their older counterparts. This is a new LC with nearly equal capabilities to the old LC for a far less expensive price, but that doesn't 'wow' people, it 'wow's their bank account with the money they saved. You're not supposed to like it more than the old one; it is better to not directly compare the two. The new LC is an intentional downgrade and an attempt to go back to basics, reflected by the almost $30,000 price reduction from the previous generation.
@@jordanimatedstreaming Costs are not the factor here. My opinion is not liking it. I just do not like it. I will never spend my money on something I dislike, no matter how cheap it is. It's fine for those who do like it. It is 100% not for me.
@@uhohmomo7685 Well to be clear, since you decided to @ me, I think most people's opinion about cars is worth listening to. I have found it to be a strange phenomena; the more I learn about cars the more I depend on casual observers to see cars the way I did when I had no mechanical knowledge of them. I could go on and on about mechanical technicalities but I know it needs to be balanced with the practical observations of people who aren't mechanically inclined. I actually tell people amongst the technicalities I relate to them about a given car that they should also consider the opinions of their spouse, family members, and friends. I know I wouldn't want to own a car if the people who are going to be regular passengers are going to hate it, unless of course it's a sports car that is driver focused from the start.
Best SUV on the market.
On my stock 1958 I’m getting 24.8MPG

Who can afford this car when the minimum salary is 500 dollars per month!?
I meant the Prado version.
It's seven-seated here and it has a diesel engine.

Land cruiser 1958 it's cool suv
Very nice 🎉
This is the small Landcruiser Prado in australia. Toyota should bring the real Landcruiser to america.
So you can buy only 2000 units a year😂 y'all had a good thing but didn't appreciate it.
Looks like a 45k vehicle
I agree

GX 550 overtrail has no 3rd row and opt but lexus will never build one with the moonroof delete ,little to no options under $70k
Tried to get in before bots and idiots complained about the engine and cost but failed.
For all the comments on now way, please buy a grocery getter Traverse or Explorer! Way better! and about the same price. #sarcasm

They sell unbelievable. We can’t keep them on the lots here in Vegas. Every new one coming in already has a name on them

@@bwer2 that's great. I personally do not care for it. I've no idea why. I just don't like it. 🤷♀️

Over 60 grand and you can’t even get a power seat no thank you
How often do you adjust your seat? ya if you share it but most don't.
Wheel spacers?!? So dumb…
2.4 liter toy engine this is a Poorman’s Land Cruiser
Overpriced, underpowered and cheaply made, but Toyota fanboys don't care :), let's make Toyota rich
Please buy a Ford exporer or maybe a Chevy Traverse heard they're great!
no v8 no good!!
