    Yeah, it’s real good for the money. Definitely has some noticeable faults but was really impressed with it.

    This is now my favourite 35mm for my Leica M262.

    Thanks for this video. I think it's great that other manufacturers are providing alternatives to more expensive lenses. It would be interesting to compare this lens to the Voigtländer 35mm f/1.4 lens which doesn't cost much more and is readily available on the used market yet is much smaller.

    Great review! I own a Nokton 35mm classic but the 7artisan seems decent!

    Awesome lens review and amazing price!!!!!! great job Hashem!! Thanks for spreading the gas hahaha. I have the 35/2 7artisans and it’s a decent , good value and tiny performer too.

    Hi, great review - I'm thinking about adapting this to my Fuji cameras for video, and photos where I want a little more character - however, I'm struggling to find any reviews that show flares (I want flares). Should I spend more and get a Voigtlander Nokton?

    • @pushingfilm
      @pushingfilm  Год назад

      Hey, I'm not too sure about the differences there sorry, since I've never used the Nokton.

      @@pushingfilm Thanks - does this lens flare much though?

    • @pushingfilm
      @pushingfilm  Год назад +1

      @@BillNessworthyPhotography I experienced some flare, but not a crazy amount. I wouldn't say it is much more susceptible than average- the coating and built-in hood must help also.

    It's a good Lens for the money, therefore i have a few suggestions, which i literally sent to 7Artisans some 2 weeks ago:
    i have the following Suggestions for an upcoming Mark II 35/1.4 M-Mount WEN Lens, like i wrote on YT, and also added comment:
    1) a fixed, metal-based focus tap (no more self glue'd on plastic tap)
    2) real aperture clicks, not just these somewhat mushy, half ones, and linear spaces between the Apertures on Scale.
    3) This Lens should also have 1/3 click stops, not just full stops, like F1.4...f2...F2.8...F4...and so on.
    4) And i'd prefer the Design of the TTArtisan 35mm F1.4 ASPH - that Leica Lens Design, it's sexy.
    5) The Lens hood goes up and down, without arritation, that should being fixed...furthermore, the WEN logo character should being fixed into the middle - means, the integrated Lens hood should not free rotate all around.
    7) much better Corner-Performance, especially from F5.6 to F11 (really being sharp)
    8) less busy looking Bokeh
    9) no more swirly Bokeh
    10) Less chromatic Abberations, also Coma
    Last but not least, it would being extraordinary, *if* a maybe Mark II with the features added above would being somewhat closing the gap to the Zeiss Distagon 35mm F1.4 ZM. ;-)
    ( well, one can dream...can't we...? )

    hey hashem, where do you get that focusing screen to check lens focus? and do you have a video showing how to use it? cheers

    • @pushingfilm
      @pushingfilm  2 года назад +1

      Hey, I don't have a video on it, but generally any focusing screen from a 35mm work. It'll probably get scratched up, so its good to get an old one. You can even use a bit of scotch tape instead!

    You should make a clip about the M-A. I’m surprised you went for it instead of the MP. I am scared of going meterless indoors, where I shoot a lot.

    • @pushingfilm
      @pushingfilm  3 года назад +1

      Hey! just saw you other comment regarding that :-) Yeah I only announced or spoke about it in some of the Livestreams (which are still on the channel). I'll definitely be doing a "proper" video on it once I have time and have used it a bit more. It was a natural decision for me as I used the M4 for years and have gotten used to shooting without a meter for the most part. I do mainly shoot outdoor/street though. However, I do sometimes shoot indoors too, and I either guess or use a handheld meter if I'm trying to be accurate. I use the handheld meter in these situations even if I have a metered camera in hand, since it gives me a better idea of how the light is being read on the subject by using the bulb.

    • @azzalos
      @azzalos 3 года назад

      @@pushingfilm thanks a lot for the reply. I have never used handheld metering and I’ve gotten pretty good at using the in-camera one. But I am so tempted to get yet one other thing out of the way of photography: the meter. Plus, having a purely mechanical camera is very alluring to me. I have to come clean though that I already have an MP too, just thinking of a second body. Perhaps it’s just GAS and it will pass :)

    • @robiulahmed
      @robiulahmed 3 года назад +1

      The M-A is the Leica I'd buy if I had the disposable cash. I prefer it over the MP because it has a metal iso indicator dial instead of that ghastly plastic one the MP uses. I also prefer the stealthy black chrome look over the black paint.

    • @pushingfilm
      @pushingfilm  3 года назад

      @@robiulahmed I prefer both those aspects of it too 😁

    • @azzalos
      @azzalos 3 года назад

      I want an M-A but I just read a thread on the forums about a guy who had two of them replaced in a row (serial numbers 49xxxxx) and that’s not the first post like that I read. It scares me. I am considering buying an M4 instead but the lust for an M-A is strong...

    Colours are 1000k warmer than leica lenses. Barrel distortion is manageable but obvious. Very heavy for an M lens. If you can live with those points, the lens is as good as you can ask for the money.
