Exactly what you said around 6 and 30. If I buy a cheapo modern vintage lens, I don't want it to be clean. I want it to have an esthetic, I want the vignette, I want the softness in the corners, I want the weird look on the background. I'm buying it because I can make photos that look old with it.
@@WesPerry Sorry M8 English humour again. It means don't give up what you're good at, photography, for something you're rubbish at,... OK not rubbish, but no rock God... No offense meant BTW...
@@WesPerry Never heard of Miranda, presumably big in Canada, not so in England. Just watched Miranda sings Gangnum style... You are certainly not that bad !!!
It reminds me a bit of my SLR Magic 35mm f1.2 Cine lens. It's got a similar character, but even thinner depth of field. It's soft in the corner, but beautifully so. Another interesting lens of that kind is the Mitakon 50mm f0.95.
It is at times. It’s a bit of a vintage look to have bokeh like that, though. It only bothers me when I’m a little further away and then things start looking nervous in the background.
How about 7 artisans 35mm f1.2 with sony a 7 mark ii as compared to 7 artisans 35mm f1.4 on same sony a7 mark 2 WHich one is best for cinematic video and images?
Like the pictures you're seeing? Head on over to instagram and give me a follow! instagram.com/wesperryphoto/
I will, when I create an IG account. :)
Djimmy Trovy Do it. Zuckerberg would like to know more about you 😏

Damn. I hope we can purchase this one in Europe. Looks very interesting. The flairs are really appealing to me!
Thanks for the video !
Eventually it likely will. It’s not really available in North America yet either. Just as an import.
The guitar playing bought you a new subscriber!!! Great video thank you very much
Good review...fair(even-handed) assessment of this lens.
"It's Metal ! " Don't give up your day job M8... Great review as ever, bad metal, Funny though...
My day job is photography :p

Norman Pimlott or perhaps I’ll go the other way and start my own Miranda Sings-style channel 😏

Leave it to Claudio Sanchez to play that song 😂😂 nonetheless, thank you for the review

Looking forward to someday trying out the Mitakon. Looks like blast :)
The rendering of this lens reminds me a lot of the voightlander 40mm 1.4 for Leica. (I adapt it to my Sony)
The bokeh seems rather harsh, but at the price point I suppose you can't be that picky

The 1.4 will likely give you better video quality, because it fills the whole image sensor, as it’s the full frame lens of the two.
@@WesPerry dose it work in a73 as well?
The 35 1.2 is designed for crop sensor cameras, so it doesn’t cover the whole sensor like the 35 1.4 does.
I keep involuntarily moving the aperture ring along with the focus ring
Yeah me too. I hate that. Would rather it be at the back of the lens where it’s harder to bump.
@@WesPerry Yes, agree!!
Awesome video as usual.
coheed and cambria~ welcome home
😉
It might be the aperture ring placed at the very front of the lens that makes the front glass small
Maybe so. I’ll have to take a course in lens optics sometime to find out ;)
Very good man
Classy production
Great production value
Thanks!
A like and a comment for the "METAL". hehehe good catch!
Meike 35mm 1.4 or this artisans?
The Meike is an APS-C lens, so they’re not exactly comparable
Have you seen it version for M mount? Is beautiful! I will buy one for my a7iii / techart combo
I don’t think there is one like that yet. The E-mount one isn’t even officially out yet (though you can get it on amazon from China)
did you buy M mount version?
Vasily Komanovsky I didn’t got this, but yes this kind of lenses I prefer them on M mount because I have techart.
You must be referring to the TTartisans, and it is beautiful indeed

Will this fit on olympus em10 mark ii?
Nope, but there are other lenses from the same manufacturer that will.
dang. i just puchasing 7artisan 35/2 :(
Whats the différence between ?
One extra stop of light.
Recomainded lens ?
Yes?
Cool video ... :)
Does it fit in A7ii?
Yep!
@@WesPerry thanks..
Appreciate the info and testing, but a few too many edits. The jumping between angles and shaky camera were disorienting.
DOSE IT FIT IN A7 3?
That’s mostly what I used it on.
@@WesPerry thanks I am thinking to buy this lens can u suggest me any other lens beside 50mm for portraits (vintage ones)
So you’re saying you Don’t want a 50mm lens?
@@WesPerry haha no I mean I got 50mm 1.8 already so dose not want that focal length for now, looking for 35mm or above 50mm
10/10 douche vibe channel
you got a talent
For Pete's sake, STOP with the constant camera cuts! Some of us DO have an attention span greater than 5 seconds!!
It’s either that or jump cuts.
I prefer this ;)
Oh I see.... It is "Metal" lol
Wishbone ash ..
Nice size, but overpriced.
Seriously?
I know right! Who on earch would dare to charge $200 for a FF35mm 1.2
Full frame lenses are pricy right?
