    Many fans complained on release of first trailer that She Hulk appears more powerful than Hulk in their training exercises, throwing a large rock a bit further than Hulk. The studio might have read some of these fan complaints, and within days released a 2nd trailer with the hulk throwing a large rock miles further than She Hulk, showing "Superman"/peak Hulk level strength. Jen just shrugs it off calling Bruce a showoff as the show is a comedy. Considering that Marvel has been under powering the Hulk in the last few years (especially in Hulk vs. Thanos), this is a step in the right direction to restore the Hulk as a major strong being! I would love to see a Superman vs. Hulk special live action episode like they did in the comic books, but I doubt this can happen. (Until both studios cooperate, never say never!)

      My only concern is that Adult Swim already did this with Birdgirl and from the past two trailers, I'm more or less realizing the humor seems to come primarily from the Hulk training and that she's a superhero lawyer that has mild fame. I'm just wondering what's going to make this show truly stand out besides the fact that it's MARVEL IP. I can almost smell the PR Department from a mile away.

    • @jasonbodden8816

      Yip. Unfortunately, Jessica Gao never read a single She-Hulk comic, didn't know the source material and she and her team made it all about man bashing and the ABSURD premise that she was *STRONGER* and better than Hulk in every way. The strength part is the really preposterous part as in the comics She-Hulk fears Bruce at one point because he is stronger than her *BY FAR* and they were on opposing sides. In the comics, she knew if he really wanted to, he could annihilate everyone and everything, including her. She even admits that Hulk smashes about 1000 times harder than she did in the moment. When she couldn't talk him into coming over to her side, she punches him flush in the face and he doesn't move. He grabs her by the face and power slams her through the ground. She even utters the line "God help us..." while still on the ground. She's tried fighting Hulk already and he flops her around quite easily like a rag doll so this feminist crap version is both hilarous and annoying.

    4:25 Disagree. Hulk & Banner did not merge personalities. "Professor Hulk" is pure Banner in Hulk's body. Hulk's consciousness is nowhere to be seen. I think that's part of what causes a lot of Hulk fans angry. Where is Hulk? The whole arc since _The Incredible Hulk_ is Bruce needing to come to terms, and then off-screen in a 5 year timeskip, Hulk is either suppressed or eliminated. He should've found a way to work together/share the body like Marc Spector & Steven Grant

    The Shadow in Jungian psychology is the negative image cast by the conscious identity, the ego-self, which is a mask we wear to hide our true selves. The ego-self contains all the lies we tell both ourselves and others, so the Shadow serves a dual role: it represents both our truest selves and also those things we regard as evil and wrong in others (as they are those elements we reject about ourselves).
    If the Hulk is Bruce's Shadow, then it is a result of Banner regarding himself as calm, logical, peaceful, and always under control -- while his true nature is quite the opposite. She-Hulk's primary characteristics in the comics is confidence and raw animal sexuality. If we assume that She-Hulk is Jennifer's Shadow, then it stands to reason that it's because she regards herself as demure and proper, while her truest nature is wild and lusty. The goal of Jungian psychotherapy is to negotiate a ceasefire with the Shadow and, over time, to learn to integrate it and recognize it as part of your identity. This is presumably what Bruce has done, learning to accept that rage and lack of control and thereby removing its ability to control him. For Jennifer, she seems to want to take a different course, essentially giving in to and _becoming_ her Shadow. This is why there's no conflict the way Bruce had to work through; she surrenders to her "dark" nature because it turns out it's really not all that dark.

      That's a tremendously clever connection. I'd like to say that I chose to use Freudian terminology instead because it's commonly understood and accessible, but I honestly had never even thought applying Jungian archetypes the way you have. I'll definitely be remembering this comment the next time I'm reading Hulk!

    • @NoJusticeNoPeace
      @NoJusticeNoPeace Год назад +1

      @@dietronomy What's interesting is, in the comics, Bruce's _Shadow_ has a Shadow. The Hulk can Hulk, turning into Kluh, an angrier, meaner, darker, and much stronger version of Hulk. This suggests it may be turtles all the way down. In modern Hulk canon, the Hulk is essentially a god-like, archetypal entity, so the Hulk's true nature may not be rage so much as _darkness._ He represents the unconquerable inner Shadow; no matter how much he integrates, there will always be a darker, meaner, stronger Shadow beneath.
