Thank you Tony Allen, Fela Kuti, Ginger Baker, Guy Warren, Remi Kabeka, Femi Kuti and all you other musicians from Africa 70 and beyond...You made this world a more enjoyable place!!! Afro Beat is the coolest thing that has happened in the last hundered years. Let's keep grooving and dancing and have a good time.
This is one of the greatest players ever. His sense of rhythm playing a non western style but jazzes it loosely.. The band here is so good and they follow the leader. I'm super sad I never knew of you til recently and I would have changed my approach, playing more like this subtle feel, with articulation. Mr Allen is a Giant
I would probably listen to Tony Allen play Row Row Row Your Boat for an hour with a band of deaf accordion players so I am perhaps not the best judge, but I definitely enjoyed this. Thanks!
Le monde a perdu un morceau de son âme aujourd'hui. Ton rythme vit pour toujours. The world lost a piece of its soul today. Your beat will live forever, Tony. Rest in Power #RIPTonyAllen
R.l.P Master of Afrobeat, may you join with Fela and make music with him, so when we will join one day,,we will have some New Songs. Thanks for uploading
"Without Tony Allen, there would be no Afrobeat", Said Fela Kuti once. Williamson, Nigel (January 18, 2008). The Independent (ed.): «Tony Allen: The veteran Afrobeat drummer is shaking his sticks as hard and as brilliantly as ever» www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/features/tony-allen-the-veteran-afrobeat-drummer-is-shaking-his-sticks-as-hard-and-as-brilliantly-as-ever-770993.html

Gerrod Allen SO YOU SHOULD be TALENTED AND GIFTED THEN ?? I hope you play at least one instrument?? Right ??? WE THANK GOD TO HAVE GAVE US YOUR FATHER FANTASTIC unique MUSICIAN .... GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FATHER !!!!! PEACE !!
Gerrod Allen that's cool. Whenever I get a chance to watch guys like this, I beg to. sit behind them and watch their hands like a cat watching a mouse hole. Let's not let that out; they'll start charging for "drummer's hand view," like they now change more for keyboard view.
Oghene Kologbo played along with Tony Allen in Fela's Africa70 band.Left the band with Tony after Berlin 78 concert. Has always been the crazy prancing horse on stage.Check him out in that concert,he was always an act on his own.
That guy on the left is Oghene Kolgbo, former fela kuti's guitar player. He played in my city, Volta Redonda, a small city near Rio de Janeiro - Brazil, and he's awesome. Pure music encarnation, only thinks about music 24/7. He stayed in a friend's house, of the band that he jammed together. He travels only with his guitar and get along with bands around the country and do his afrobeat. Search for more of him, he's nice! Just wanted to share information! hahaha Hugs from Brazil! By the way, i don't know what kind of guitar he uses, but i know that's is a very limited model...
L'inventeur n'agit jamais ex-nihilo.
