Howard, you were definitely all over one of my favorite topics!
I'm not sure what it is, but the gloves that carry a major manufacturer's name on the back and cost the most are often disappointing. I was delighted to see that you are happy with the Milwaukee gloves. I'm definitely going to give them a try.

Those Milwaukees are so far so good all around, but if you come across any others with equal comfort but greater durability, I'll be all ears.

i'd suggest taking a look at Wells Lamont HydraHyde as well as they are similar in construction to both the Milwaukee and JD ones you show at the end. they have a goathide leather palm and a breathable back i think if something hadn't stolen one of them for a nest I'd probably still be using that set i got 2 years ago and i mostly use them for landscaping/yard work and the only thing that has managed to punch a hole in them is when i wasn't paying attention to where I was grabbing an osage orange tree and the ~2inch thorn almost got me and they are flexible enough that i doubt i'll go for a different set once i start renovating the old cabin turned farmhouse

Huge thanks for tuning in and for the tip. I will definitely check those out! Just found them on the Amazon Canada site (I live in Canada) and they carry them for $26/pair with all taxes, shipping etc included.
I see that the palm and fingers are all preformed with no stitching on the face and that stitching seems to consistently be the weak point. The design on these seems to resolve that.
Truly grateful to have you tune in and take the time to make the suggestion.

For a start Howard, I think you are looking just a bit too comfortable in that fancy workshop. And for goodness sake ask dear Coral to wash your shirt. I wear gloves quite a lot especially when working with rocks or wood. I've tried cheap gloves and fancy expensive gloves, doesn't seem to make much difference. I have heaps of good left hand gloves and heaps of worn out right hand gloves. Maybe one hand does more work than the other lazy buggar. About 2 months ago I got onto a clearance deal on Trademe and got a box of gloves for $42.00 plus $30.00 shipping. There were 72 pairs of gloves in the box, so $1.00 per pair at my place. 2 months later I'm just starting to wear a wee hole in the first pair. I believe I am getting value for my $1.00 . A rough estimate would suggest this box of gloves will last until I'm about 109 years old and I didn't even have to cut the tag off. Anyway cheers to you both, stay well. P.S. would you be in the market for a bulk lot of left hand gloves?

Hahaha - always so good to hear from you.
And, you've definitely pointed a gloved finger at one of the pet peeves of mine that I failed to mention - that being the premature failure of the right hand glove.
Perhaps an episode about 'a pair of gloves should not be created equal'?
But you've helped me solve a problem. Coral is left-handed - so instead of buying her new gloves, I should give her a pair of mine at about the time my right one is starting to wear though and let her get the value out of that like new left-hand glove.
Nice work on solving the glove problem from now to age 109! Now just to get your mini-ex to get onboard with lasting till you're 109!
