This is your song And you're singing it It's made of chords and beautiful words And it echoes through my mind a lot Rattling all the feelings that I've got And leaves me feeling peaceful and quiet And the greatest thing about this song Is it makes me want to sing along And actually even write my own verse This is your song And it's fine It's how I spend the vast majority of my time It's not perfect, but it's yours It's not perfect But it's ..mine
This always makes me cry when he starts singing about his body and his brain, there's so much emotion there. You can tell his voice nearly cracks in those parts.

The verse about the body brought me to tears. The line "I spend so much time hating it, but it never says a bad word about me," hit me hard. I've been told to hate my body since I was around 7 or 8, and this lyric really just brought up so many feelings. What a beautiful song written by a wonderful man. Tim Minchin is fantastic.
Almost 12 years ago when I heard this song for the first time, I was 9 years old. And I thought this was possibly the most boring song Tim had ever released and I never gave it a second thought. And now here I am at 20 years of age, crying in my room at this song because of how beautiful and profound it is. Thank you Tim
SolidSixx Just because the song is ultimately serious and heartfelt doesn't mean you can't have a couple laughs in there. Lines like "never even messes up my hair", "really rather radical of eyebrows" and "love and bad song lyrics" had obvious beats for the audience to laugh, and when he had turned 30 the line where he gives his age was "29 and 12 months old". This is one of my favorites of his because it is such a touching sentiment, but doesn't forget to have a little fun along the way. :)
I completely agree with you, Tim's an extremely clever and funny guy and there are some very funny bits in this song. I think because it's he's a comedian though people assume he isn't being serious at all, and are laughing at bits which I'm not sure they should be. But then, I don't know what Tim's intentions with this song were, all I know is that it's a beautiful song :)
I love that at the outset Tim describes the emotion he conveys in the song to the audience perfectly and they laugh like he's joking until they realize, they all have indeed felt like the smallest doll in a babushka doll. Tim really subverts expectations with an absolutely meaningful reflection on the Human condition in the modern age.
frontal labotomy Check out his award-winning work helping create the amazing stage musical, "Matilda." As I understand it, he wrote ALL the songs! Just brilliant!!
I discovered this song in 2017, when I was going through a really rough time. I've always struggled with depression, for as long as I can remember. During a particularly strong episode, I felt so trapped in my situation, and it felt like nothing would ever change. I was tired of having to fight to build the life I wanted only to keep hitting the same walls. But in an effort to break that thought pattern, I once again turned to musical comedy. After hitting up my usual favorites, I saw this song in the sidebar and decided to give it a try. Listening to it hit me hard, and a lot of the lyrics really resonated with me. By the time I was near the end, at the verse about his brain, I was sobbing. Just the look in his eyes as he sang, that raw emotion that made me feel like someone else truly understood, it gave me this sense of overwhelming relief. As time went on, I'd periodically return to this song, and would bring me a bit of peace. Eventually I came to interpret the song as learning to accept your current circumstances and do what you can with them. Sometimes you just need to survive through a hard time, and not put pressure on yourself to constantly fight your way out of it. Over the years, I have learned much better ways to cope with my illness. I understand now that it's not my fault, and it's not something I'm making up or inflicting upon myself. But most of all, it's something I can live with. When I have an episode, I've learned that it's okay to take care of myself, and that I deserve that just as much as anyone else. I know it may sound a little ridiculous, and like these are obvious statements, but for me, depression really messed with my sense of self worth and for a long time, I really didn't have the will to practice self care. Even basic tasks like bathing or brushing my hair felt impossible. I'm still not quite in control of my mental health, but I'm slowly working through it. I really credit Tim as well as countless other artists and comedians for helping to shift my way of thinking even marginally, as it ultimately led me to where I am now in my life. It's not perfect, but it's mine.
It's your body and it's your brain. They're not perfect, but they're yours. I'm glad you're keeping on, as much as that means from one internet stranger to another. Hope you're well, knowing other people can make it through gives just that much more hope that things can change.
I've had depression and anxiety and find this is a great song to get through. I like how it's structured starting big and working its way in, the line "this is my brain...it's where I spend the vast majority of my time" brings home how it's just me in here and it's not perfect. Very touching song, sentimental and heartfelt, love it.
We might not all feel like the smallest doll but none of us is perfect. The way you have reflected on and shared your personal journey is very powerful. I encourage you to continue doing this so you can help others who still need to travel some of the paths you have already negotiated.
This is my life and I'm living it, it's not perfect, but it's mine. Thank you Tim, for letting me see that at 63 and 9 months old, it's Ok to not be perfect.

not satire, no, i don't think so either, three years after you posted lol, but each verse is about something that fits inside the thing the last verse was about, like russian nesting dolls.
Most of the other songs are hilarious, when he is serious he shows a side of himself. As an audience, we love the moments that let us connect with the artist on a more personal and intimate level. If he was always this sentimental and moving it wouldn't be the same.
Today at work, I decided to listen to Tim Minchin's music for the first time. Suddenly, this song turned up at the end of an album, with each verse delivering an absolute gut punch. It's so beautiful. I have been on repeat all day, weeping intermittently.
No matter how many times I've listened to this, no matter how many of the lyrics I know by heart (all of them), whenever I watch him perform it, tears start forming. I can't say I have the highest self-esteem, and the second half of this song just always gets me...every time...
For me, this song is anything but “sweet”. It’s rich with comedy, irony, nuance, politics, insight, beauty and fragility. Hell, there’s even some science. So very very Tim Minchin ❤️
Honestly, this is a perfect song. Beautifully written, amazingly composed and is funny.. that is until you listen to the true meaning of the lyrics, absolutely stunning Tim. Also, I believe that Tim Minchins fans are the best community around, polite and well mannered. I give you all the my best wishes :)

I am just speechless to the emotional strings that this song pulls everytime I hear it. I just have to say thank you Tim Minchin for sharing your Talents to the world. Well done.
How can you not like a person who describes their brain as being full of both love and bad song lyrics? I just discovered Tim last week and love all his work. This song in particular has been playing in my head pretty much non-stop for the last 3 days. Such a beautiful anthem to one's self and circumstances.
When I feel down and depressed I watch this and I feel it's ok to be down and depressed... So yea, it's my head and I love it... Even when it's fucking with me.
Conrad King No, you obviously have no idea what you're talking about. Depression doesn't even require a reason, it's a chemical imbalance. And lack of pleasure in doing things is a symptom listed on pretty much every site that explains depression. You probably got down when your cat died or something, don't worry, that's not depression.
Shivers... there are few artists who evoke such complex & contradictory emotions. Tim's most poignant songs are emotional rollercoasters. Bloody brilliant.
Wonderful, melodic, sad, hopeful and realistic. Wonderful poetry and philosophy. We are lucky to live in the time on Minchin - a man the future will revere.
Beautiful. Somehow connecting to the audience how painful it is to feel trapped inside what we call a mind sometimes, but still letting go. Makes you shed a bittersweet tear :')
There are so many words to use to express Tim Minchen! He's a perpendicular , horizontal, vertical inclination of a contradicting ironic legend. The best I gather about him is is he's truly an honest and gentle man .The laughter he offers this world about the truth perhaps many people do not understand. His point language use is vulgar, offensive or otherwise unappealing yet refreshing to me and I fucking love his open minded originality! When first I came across his performances by chance I was an inquisitive 62 year old lady of sorts and as I did dig deeper ( because I sift brains carefully ) I realized in a short time he is a god damn fucking genius! Yes you're a fucking " Rock Star " but you are the first realist I've ever seen who dares to be arrogantly hilarious. Your view on " Religion , church and world conditions " in general are so uncommonly familiar. As an indigenous woman I say hell man ROCK ON BITCH! I've never heard this guy before this song. I'd heard a part of Canvas Bags, but this is the first time I've heard *him.* This song, his voice. The look in his eyes. This made me feel something. What a good song to introduce me to this magic
I haven't listened to this absolutely wonderful song for a couple of years. God, I appreciate Minchin so much. He's half my age, went to my University and lived a few miles away from me. For some stupid sentimental reason, that binds him to me. So pleased that he exists and with a big voice and reach.
It's tucked away behind my eyes where all my screwed-up thoughts can hide...don't think there's a one of us who ain't been there. The feels...they're real. Tim's a genius.
Tim, I've watched this video for the past 10 years, and what hit me today was the line "I'm 31 and 6 months old"... that's exactly how old I turned last month. I think you are one of the most underrated creative minds of this century, and this song shows that you have a lot of heart as well. So much doesn't make sense, but what I choose to believe is that we are here to love. Love well, Tim. -Kenneth
This song has something that it always makes me cry when I'm feeling down but at the same time makes me calm and everything is just a bit better after that. Tim - I am 61 & only found you today. You are quite brilliant - have just listened to a few of your songs but will definitely be following what you do.
I remember the first time I heard this song it hit me like a tonne of bricks, and inspired me to take up the piano again after a few years of not playing. Tim Minchin is a genius.
This is definitely my favourite version of this song. The first time I'd heard this song was watching this performance when it aired on The Sideshow in 2007 - my mind was officially blown. He doesn’t do it much (if at all) anymore, because it dates the song and makes the song very Australian, but I really like the verse about "my country" - it's a perfect description of Australia at the time under Howard's government. Even 13 years later, I still regularly come back to this performance so I can laugh and cry within the space of a few minutes.
Its rare for me to comment on youtube. From time to time I come back to minchins not perfect, it levels me, brings me back to a place where I can appreciate even the simplest, mundane aspects of life that I live. Thank you Minchin:)
Listening to him is like riding a rollercoaster. Each emotion resounds a hundred times stronger than the previous one. He is a unique artist and man. Master of words and keys. His works are brilliant, intelligent, witty, moving. Bittersweet and happysad. Listen to his album "Apart together" - is awesome.
I cannot get over this song. I've literally listened to it everyday since I found it. I discovered Tim Minchin about a week ago and I've just been watching him non-stop, laughing and agreeing with everything he says. Then I came across this song and, well I know its supposed to be funny but, it almost makes me cry. Its such a beautiful piece of music.

why can comedic songwriters be those persons writing the most meaningfull thought provoking and beautiful songs? tim and bo burnham (are you happy), bodo wartke (an dich/ liebeslied)
Late reply but i think it's because comedy is in essence based off hurt. The old saying "Tragedy + time = comedy" so good comedians will be very in tune with emotion and dealing with it and acknowledging pain.
Tom C true dat. also I also think comedic musician are used to make every word in a song have meaning (the joke only works if every word is chosen right in the perfect order kind of style) unlike most other musicians where the most important part is the chorus and you kind of forget about the build up to it.

It's so humbling to hear the lyrics, "It's where I spend the vast majority of my time" in context of his body and mind, as if to say he has a choice and chooses to be there despite knowing its flaws. The line always gets my waterworks going.

I'm medicated, in therapy, and doing well. I'm not perfect but I'm not trying to be. I'm sending all of you so much love.
Mel
Melanie Nicholson I’m glad you are still here! According to Camus, those who do not contemplate that question are not truly alive. ‘Although he forcefully separated himself from existentialism, Camus posed one of the twentieth century's best-known existentialist questions, which launches The Myth of Sisyphus: “There is only one really serious philosophical question, and that is suicide”’. You are in good company. 🔯🕉☯️😇
Hey, Melanie, have a nice day :)
Are you ok, Melanie?
Hey Melanie, hope your well and happy, I'm grateful your here and I don't even know you. X
I sincerely hope that you are still here, two years later.
This is your song
And you're singing it
It's made of chords and beautiful words
And it echoes through my mind a lot
Rattling all the feelings that I've got
And leaves me feeling peaceful and quiet
And the greatest thing about this song
Is it makes me want to sing along
And actually even write my own verse
This is your song
And it's fine
It's how I spend the vast majority of my time
It's not perfect, but it's yours
It's not perfect
But it's ..mine
First tim made me cry and now you have! ♥️
Aaaww that was so sweet ❤️Tim would love it :)
underrated comment
Wonderful!
Oh I love this.
This and White Wine in the Sun are two songs that always tickle my heart and make me tear up. I don't care what anyone says, this guys' deep.
Reminds me of how he starts Dark Side- “that guys really deep”
@@MikesBakes Heck yeah, bro, he's deep as... eh?
Million % agree, so thoughtful and soulsearching, love both songs, Tim is an absolute genius, not even mentioning 'Matilda' oops I just did. 🤩
Deep as, bro
@@FloraMHorta 🤣🤣, the perfect response!
This always makes me cry when he starts singing about his body and his brain, there's so much emotion there. You can tell his voice nearly cracks in those parts.
This is my Earth
And I live in it
It's one third dirt and two thirds water
And it rotates and revolves through space
At rather an impressive pace
And never even messes up my hair
And here's the really weird thing
The force created by it's spin
Is the force that stops the chaos flooding in
This is my Earth
And it's fine
It's where I spend the vast majority of my time
It's not perfect, but it's mine
It's not perfect
This is my country
And I live in it
It's pretty big and nice to walk on
And the bloke who runs my country
Has built a demagoguery
And taught us to be fearful and boring
And the weirdest thing is that he is
Conservative of politics
But really rather radical of eyebrows
This is my country
And it's fine
It's where I spend a vast majority of my time
It's not perfect, but it's mine
It's not perfect
This is my house
And I live in it
It's made of cracks and photographs
We rent it off a guy who bought it from a guy
Who bought it from a guy
Whose granddad left it to him
And the weirdest thing is that this house
Has locks to keep the baddies out
But they're mostly used to lock ourselves in
This is my house
And it's fine
It's where I spend a vast majority of my time
It's not perfect, but it's mine
It's not perfect, but it's mine
This is my body
And I live in it
It's thirty-one and six months old
It's changed a lot since it was new
It's done stuff it wasn't built to do
I often try to fill it up with wine
And the weirdest thing about it is
I spend so much time hating it
But it never says a bad word about me
This is my body
And it's fine
It's where I spend a vast majority of my time
It's not perfect, but it's mine
It's not perfect
This is my brain
And I live in it
It's made of love and bad song lyrics
It's tucked away behind my eyes
Where all my screwed up thoughts can hide
Cause God forbid I hurt somebody
And the weirdest thing about a mind
Is that every answer that you find
Is the basis of a brand new cliche
This is my brain
And it's fine
It's where I spend a vast majority of my time
It's not perfect, but it's mine
It's not perfect, but it's mine
It's not perfect
I'm not quite sure I've worked out how to work it
It's not perfect, but it's mine
But it's mine
thanks
and the WEIRDEST* thing about a mind
is that every answer that YOU* find.
And the weird thing about a mind
Is that every answer that YOU find
Is the basis of a brand new cliché
Cookieofdoom great picture haha, watched soul eater twice
Late reply - Fixed
This may be the most important song I'll ever listen to
its not popular enough sadly
This and Canvas Bags xD
Here Comes A Thought from Steven Universe is in that list for me.
Holly it is.....
Me, too. Totally unexpected. Recurs whenever I listen to this song. (And yes, I'm replying 6 years after you posted because this is... forever.)
It is one of those songs where you are happy for anyone that doesn't get it, and sad for them once they do.
Tim Minchin is not only a great musician and entertainer: he's an important philosopher. Cheers.
I think Tim really, really meant for this to be one a serious song. He seems so deadly serious when he says "I often try to fill it up with wine."
I find it kinda uncomfortable when people laugh during this song. I really do think that this song is coming straight from his heart.
SolidSixx hmmm, yeah. I break into tears.
He seems similar to Steve Allen, but I haven't been able to find much from him online.
This is one of the most unexpectedly beautiful songs I've ever heard
I love that at the outset Tim describes the emotion he conveys in the song to the audience perfectly and they laugh like he's joking until they realize, they all have indeed felt like the smallest doll in a babushka doll. Tim really subverts expectations with an absolutely meaningful reflection on the Human condition in the modern age.
That line about “god forbid I hurt somebody” always brings instant tears.
👍🌹
someone give this man an award
frontal labotomy Check out his award-winning work helping create the amazing stage musical, "Matilda." As I understand it, he wrote ALL the songs!
Just brilliant!!
voicetube And this very song seems to be the inspiration for 'my house' in the musical. Beautiful!
They did - an honourary doctorate
This song should come with a label
"Warning: Tim Minchin is about to make you cry and not from laughter"
IMO, this is his best song.
I think I agree!
Wow. You're an amazing writer! Don't give up!
♥️
That beat of hesitation before "it's fine" in the brain verse breaks me.
This is my life and I'm living it, it's not perfect, but it's mine.
Thank you Tim, for letting me see that at 63 and 9 months old, it's Ok to not be perfect.
31 and 6 months old myself, glad I remembered to stop by. :)
So, I should come back in a month? Ok.
Holy hecking- I used to love watching Coe’s Quest with my brother when I was like six, and the nostalgia attached to your username made me just about cry seeing it here
I'm back. :)
Damn I missed that anniversary, just turned 32!
Shit that's me now.
Bro your nearly 40.
Is it as scary as I think its gonna be?
It is weird that out of all of this guy's hilarious songs, the one that I like the most is the one that's the least satirical?
I think that's part of what makes it so special :)
Honestly this and White Wine in The Sun are my favorites.
HwoDragon this, Drowned and You Grew on Me are some my favourites
not satire, no, i don't think so either, three years after you posted lol, but each verse is about something that fits inside the thing the last verse was about, like russian nesting dolls.
Most of the other songs are hilarious, when he is serious he shows a side of himself. As an audience, we love the moments that let us connect with the artist on a more personal and intimate level. If he was always this sentimental and moving it wouldn't be the same.
this song is so deep so fucking deep it almost makes you want to cry
Deep as bro
but is it #deep?
Dayna Heald♡♥♡ LMAO HAHAHAHAHA I know right if you like time you kinda have to like bo to by default
Utterly profound
Puff the Magic Sativa I actually did cry
And once again watching this made me tear up, a sad-ish smile curving my lips. Thank you, Master Minchin, for this great piece of art.
Pretty much sums it up :-)
Please Tim I wish to see you 2023 somewhere
"Not perfect" and "White wine in the sun" are two of the most beautiful songs I´ve heard.
Makes me wanna cry every time I heard them
I agree and now I can add The Aeroplane to the list.
You're not alone :)
kiwispam84
Serisously. Usually I'm crying out of laughter from Tim but this song hits on a whole other note. Amazing piece of musical genius.
White wine in the sun has the same effect.
Yes... yes, it does.
You're not alone. There is so much truth and tenderness in these pieces. Incomparable.
For me, this song is anything but “sweet”. It’s rich with comedy, irony, nuance, politics, insight, beauty and fragility. Hell, there’s even some science. So very very Tim Minchin ❤️
Tim has thoroughly mastered the difficult art of being hilarious and deeply insightful at the same time.
"And the weirdest thing is that this house
Has locks to keep the baddies out
But they're mostly used to lock ourselves in"
Wow that is amazingly put.
That gets me every time.
What is the true meaning?
crasowl
Self-satisfaction? Life's not a bad thing? All said and done you are you and nothing can take it away from you?
Just guessing. But it's pretty heartfelt I feel. I didn't see what the rave reviews were on about till I started really listening. It's sweet.
It's not perfect, it's fine.
It has struck me that however many comments I read for Tim Minchin RUclips videos I find only appreciation and love. After being lucky enough to see him live in Portsmouth UK 2019 (my pulse is starting to race just thinking about it) I hope we’ll be able to add Carry You to our list of most moving songs. Also can we count in Come home and the Pope song, so angry it takes my breath away. Tim you are utterly astonishing. Thank you so much. Oh and then there is the graduation speech.......
There a very, very few songs that hit me like this does. I can honestly say that I think Tim Minchin is a genius, and this song in particular is very relatable for a lot of us
If anyone happens to come across this and doesnt know Tim Minchin, check out "White wine in the sun".
Its another one of his slow and emotional songs and is without a doubt the most beautiful song ive ever heard.
I can't listen to it because I cry so hard. It's absolutely gorgeous.
Our family Xmas anthem. Good or bad, do be it.
I cant listen to it, it makes me cry my eyes out! Such a beautiful, secular christmas sentiment. He warned us at the beginning: "It's sentimental, I know". And it wasa
*was!
I listen to White Wine in the Sun exactly once every December because I can’t spend all month crying
I recently discovered this guy on Netflix with his concert specials, and I have to say that he writes incredible, touching songs as per Not Perfect.
I haven't cried in a long time until I heard this song today. If by any chance you read this, thank you.
When I feel down and depressed I watch this and I feel it's ok to be down and depressed...
So yea, it's my head and I love it... Even when it's fucking with me.
***** I can relate. I think its like a reality check for me.
Its such a nice song. It has everything in some respects... :)
Mateus Vieira I hate to be a downer but the nature of depression is that there's nothing you like.
John Smith WTF... You obviously have no idea what you're talking about .
People get depressed for a range of reasons.
John Smith no. You have no idea. You don't know me or what I have or don't have. You can be depressed and like things you idiot.
1:16 "Australian Man Claims The World Is His"
-The NY Times
Shivers... there are few artists who evoke such complex & contradictory emotions. Tim's most poignant songs are emotional rollercoasters. Bloody brilliant.
When I need a good healthy cry I listen to this. Beautiful.
This song is therapeutic, I've returned to it so many times.
Wonderful, melodic, sad, hopeful and realistic. Wonderful poetry and philosophy. We are lucky to live in the time on Minchin - a man the future will revere.
The force created by its spin, is the force that stops the chaos flooding in... Just brilliant.
( she smiles and wishes Tim Minchin, wife & children ❤️
+Diane Arunningdoe way to go! and
I've never heard this guy before this song. I'd heard a part of Canvas Bags, but this is the first time I've heard *him.* This song, his voice. The look in his eyes. This made me feel something. What a good song to introduce me to this magic
This is honestly one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
This song is so awesome and perfect. I cited it for part of a psych paper I wrote on depression.
I love the phrasing he uses on the piano when he says : '' It's where i spend the majority of my time'' .
This man is a fucking genius. So rare to see such a combination of talent and insightful commentary. Thank you.
Thank you, Tim. This song always comforts me when I'm feeling down. My life's not perfect, but it's mine.
-Kenneth
How have I spent the vast majority of my life without noticing this brilliant person?!
This song has something that it always makes me cry when I'm feeling down but at the same time makes me calm and everything is just a bit better after that. Like it's somehow healing my mind and soul. I'm so grateful this song was made I can't even express it. So just thank you for helping me with all the shit in my life especially that you don't even know i exist.
7 years later and I still bounce back to this when the bad times hit, Gotten me through a lot of shit over the years man, cheers
Tim, thanx for putting words into what I can't......and a double thanx for your talent.
Tears. Every. Time. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
people trying so desperately to laugh at the lyrics just because they are not used to serious Tim... this song is a masterpiece, supposed to be listened to with your heart, and people spoil it by forced laugh because they don't like the idea of Tim being serious at once... anyway, this song is love. makes me feel warm. thank you Tim
+Russell Frank "they're mostly used to lock ourselves in" *audience laughs*
Tim - I am 61 & only found you today. You are quite brilliant - have just listened to a few of your songs but will definitely be following what you do.
Happy 66th year on this planet sir
goddammit Tim. I came here expecting comedy and you hit me with this emotional song that made me tear up goddamn you
I remember the first time I heard this song it hit me like a tonne of bricks, and inspired me to take up the piano again after a few years of not playing.
More timeless than you think. I thought of Boris Johnson and Trump when I heard that verse.
I love this man's genius. We are blessed and privileged by the existence of Tim Minchin.
This song makes me weep...Every. Single. Time. So true. So insightful.
Its rare for me to comment on youtube. From time to time I come back to minchins not perfect, it levels me, brings me back to a place where I can appreciate even the simplest, mundane aspects of life that I live.
Thank you Minchin:)
How do you do it Tim?
The perfect combination of humour and heart wrenching emotion. Genius.
This song is the most beautiful thing I've heard in years
This is one of the most beautiful songs of all time
"Not Perfect" and "White Wine In The Sun" get me..... every single time..... #crylikealittlegirl
This song really helps with my struggles. Thank you for this lyrics
just flooding my feed with tim minchin tonight, this has always been a great one
This song never fails to make me tear up a little bit. Tim Minchin is one of the great songwriters of our era.
Never, ever, ever get tired of listening to this... a masterpiece!
OH Tim Minchin.....please , please, keep writing these wonderful ballads (Drowned). I LOVE THEM AND YOU FOR WRITING THEM. please don't stop
LOVE - I only feel love for this man who expresses exactly what we all feel so (not) perfectly.
How is it possible I’m only finding out about this dude in 2022! Great song! Great comedian and singer and songwriter and pianist.
Just well done buddy!
So jealous. He is incredible
I am so in love with this song... all the feels. Every single feel.
MoonFoxASMR literally for real.
This and White Wine in the Sun are the two Minchin songs that can make me tear up.
I love that the audience laughs at the beginning but slowly the laughter gets softer and softer as they realize this shit is real.
why can comedic songwriters be those persons writing the most meaningfull thought provoking and beautiful songs? tim and bo burnham (are you happy), bodo wartke (an dich/ liebeslied)
Wow, I just realized I've apparently watched/listened to this 2 million times now. I really should find something else to listen to....after I listen for another million.
Nothing I could say would be nearly as meaningful as this song means to me. Thank you Tim! Absolutely beautiful.
I just stumbled across this extraordinary man. This song realy caught me off guard. I read the comments while it was playing. Now I understand why so many of you wrote these very evocative lines. I think I'm in good company here. We're all seperated by definition in our existence but at the same time we're all connected by the world we live in
It's so humbling to hear the lyrics, "It's where I spend the vast majority of my time" in context of his body and mind, as if to say he has a choice and chooses to be there despite knowing its flaws. The line always gets my waterworks going.
Doesn't matter how long it takes to listen this song. It is always a punch in the stomach. Great song
2021
This song helps me so much I can't explain just how much
Thanks ya little weird
Your a artist
My favorite part of the song is "it's where I spend the vast majority of my time." It is profondly deep
I have heard this before but today it popped into my recommended so never one to pass by an opportunity to listen to Tim I clicked play. The Gods or someone knew I needed to hear this today. I cried because of fibromyalgia I can’t do the things I used to but Tim made me think about it......it’s my body, it’s not perfect but it’s mine. THANK YOU TIM ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Oi Tim. I'm slipping back down into the depths of despair and desperation and depression. Where are you, man? you saved me all those other times and now I have to listen to Wilson Dixon to get through!!!!
"It's where I spent the vast majority of my time"
The creative dreamer.
"But the weirdest thing is that this house has locks to keep the baddies out, but they're mainly used to lock ourselves away"
Best line is the whole song
In the year 2020 🦠🖤

Not "away".
But yeah!
