Favorite series of all time. Has been since the very beginning. I'll never forget the day I read about the game in a gaming magazine and couldn't believe my eyes about the 108 characters. I've been waiting so long for Suikoden 6 and THIS is as good as I could have ever wanted. This is, hands down, my most anticipated game of all time.
This is the kind of video I was waiting for, hooking people to this game, coz the more success this series has, the more sequel it will get too and I want many many sequels coz Suikoden-type lore is never enough

Eiyuden Chronicle Rising is what made me interested in Hundred Heroes. I didn't even know Hundred Heroes existed till after playing Rising and I love Rising. Looking forward to the full game.
That's really cool! I would not have expected Rising to bring in new fans, but maybe that was part of the idea. The art is really beautiful... and just a tiny taste of what will likely be in Hundred Heroes.
The series got me hooked on jrpgs. Especially when you could recruit the first hero in Suikoden 2. I was young and at the time thought it was a groundbreaking feature XD.
I'm in my mid 30s and this game is the most hyped I been for a game since I was young. My favourite game is the suikoden series. While I do enjoy other games nothing has ever come close to the glory days of the originals. I do appreciate content creators like yourself are keeping the games spirit alive.

Just caught your video. I wish I had known about the kickstarter I would have pledged. I only heard that Suikoden was being made and was super hype, then I found out about Eiyuden chronicals after. I'm totally stoked just like all original fans probably are also. I'm going to support both.

I played Suikoden 1/2/3 when I was a teen. The music, the story, the character development and seeing your castle town slowly build up were the best! The music seriously was epic and well placed everytime! Thanks for the video, can't wait for this game!

I swear, I must've initially seen some earlier build of the game, because I was sure the animations were animated paperdolls. Glad it is looking as good and faithful as it is now. Edit; Ah, I was looking at Eiyuuden Chronicle: Rising initially. Not at all keen on that game for that reason. Hundred Heroes is another story, though.

Sorry, I just want to ask, can we choose characters like in suikoden 3?There we can choose which character to choose to be the Flame Champion. I hope Eiyuden Chronicle is the same because there are 3 main characters.
Jesus that is a tough question that's almost impossible for me to answer. But I'll try to answer using the characters that pop to mind first. Suikoden 1 - Rubi. I love the look of him with one eye, and that green hair. So cool (special shout out to FuSoya!) Suikoden 2 - Crap this one is so tough. there are so many greats. But If I had to pick off the top of my head I've always loved Clive and his story with the howling voice guild Suikoden 3 - If you count it, Futch & Bright as a unit. If not I would say Watari (looks so badass) Suikoden 4 - Rachel (I love red-heads and spear users, so bam!) Suikoden 5 - Georg Prime because Iaijutsu users are badass How about you!?
You think the music will be okay? Sakuraba's almost on that Mitsuda/Uematsu level, and Star Ocean, Tales of and Valkyrie had great music. But he has a certain style that doesn't really give off Suikoden vibes. Granted, the five mainline games were done by at least 3 separate composers. But it's hard to imagine them asking him to try and mimic somebody else. I'm imagining Suikoden II w/ Star Ocean: Second Story music right now and it doesn't really fit the theme. I keep forgetting that it isn't Suikoden VI. They can do whatever they want with the music's direction.
The music that has been released so far in the trailers and on the Kickstarter I have really enjoyed. I think it's going in a good direction so far, and I'm hopeful that he can encapsulate the appropriate mood for the series. Plus he's probably a got a lot of direction for the type of sound they want the series to have Hopefully we don't have too long to wait to find out!
Yep, I wonder the same... he's one of my top-3 composers but very different feeling than Suikoden. So don't think it's going to feel exactly the same... but hoping it's just as good with a flavor of its own. The original composer for Suikoden 1 and 2 was my favorite, but heard she retired to get married. Which is pretty cool too... just leave an unforgettable mark on the world and move on to another noble calling.
Waaa! I knew most of this stuff, but watching got me hyped all over again. Where did the footage around 6:10 come from? Can't recall having seen before unless I forgot... it looks a little rougher and more 2D than other footage, but almost most like Suikoden 1-2 in a way.
The only thing that has me a bit concerned, at least for the Nintendo Switch, is the performance of the game. I've played a few kickstarter games in the past that had..... game breaking issues. Star Renegades and Hardcore Mecha are two examples that come to mind. I'm hoping that this won't be too much of an issue for Eiyuden Chronicles, because I never had the pleasure to play Suikoden as a kid, but I remember watching other friends play it and wanting to eventually (Even though I use the Rune of Beginning as my profile Pic). I just hope my fears are not warranted because there were so many awesome games that were indie titles that worked wonders on the Switch (Hollow Knight and Celeste for example)
I really like to think that since they have multiple seasoned developers, and a decent budget that it will be a solid experience without too many bugs. But I get your concern. For every kickstarter success there are just as many failures if not more Let's just hope this game doesn't fall in the later category
@@gamebreak6395 Either way, if it fails on one, it doesn't mean it won't work on other devices in the same capacity. The Switch is an amazing console and it has so many good titles, it just has certain hardware limitations that sometimes set it back.
I can't agree about interconnected games as the best of all. It could be a frustrated playthrough in thr first game or big blanks in the plot that make it boring. And that said, I hope for the game to be a success and have a second part, dont take it all wrong :p
Off the top of my head I don't think it will be. Murayama said there would be a minimal amount in the game in both English or Japanese But this could be anything from simple grunts and characters yelling attack names in battle, to maybe just the main scenario having voice. Never played Suikoden, but this game looks very interesting and i absolutely adore the HD2D style. Hopefully this game does'nt have the annoying grinding like Octopath Traveler, i hate grinding.

I will buy this game for sure because I am a huge Suikoden 1 and 2 fan, however I am very afraid that the characters made for the game are too childish and immature. After watching the characters from the footages so far, the most of them are cute and immature looking children. I am really afraid that I would not be able to play adult characters as most of them are children and cute looking animal/human characters. :(

I enjoyed 1 and 2 (especially 2), but 3 and 5 were definitely my favorites. 3 for the multi-perspective narrative system and 5 for the amazing story.

Good thing i was born in 1900's and i am a suikoden fanatics, my only concern is with the players from 2000's they dont know about this game.

Going to be a struggle to top Suikoden 3.
