The iceberg is really short even though there are many more things to tell about the series like recurring characters (Vivi, Jeane), time-constraint quest (Clive), connections between characters across different games (Hai Yo in Suikoden II and Shun Min in Suikoden V), timeline of the games, etc. Was expecting a lot more when clicking on this video
Yep. The little boy who made this video made a number of mistakes, too. "Detective Conan in Japan." No, little one. This site compiles a lot of information without fact checking, etc. Needs to step up its quality game.
Suikoden is one of the best JRPG game I've played every time I see visuals and discussions about it. It immediately brings me back to my pre teen years staying late up at night trying to grind most characters levels, reading walkthroughs to completely recruit every stars of destiny characters, and also the mini games. It's worth every hour I invested. I wish I could go back to much simpler fun times.
the second suikoden is the best for me.. when I completed all 108 characters.. & don't feel like going out . I'd run around the castle & just watch everything.
You’re wrong about quite a few things. Your box art for the card game is some weird fake ESRB box? While there is a Suikoden slot machine. It is not Suikoden woven web of the centuries. Which you could clearly tell if you even looked at your box art you put on display. Woven Web is another spin off for PSP. I have no idea how you messed that up so badly. The PSP Suikoden 1+2 game is not a spin-off, it’s a remaster. None of this is iceberg material btw, you literally just list the games. Suikoden 3 manga was released in several countries, not solely in Japan by a long shot. Matilda glitch - “This bug has been fixed in the PS versions of Suikoden 1 and 2” what? I assume you mean PSP version, and I assume you just mean Suikoden 2 since this glitch has nothing to do with Suikoden 1 I hate the way you pronounce Jowy, just say Joey, also you pronounce Genso wrong several times. Lorelei is OP - personal opinions are iceberg material now? Did you get lazy towards to the end? Plenty more could have been mentioned, only 1 really obvious point about each suikoden 3 and 4, nothing about suikoden 5? Very dissapointing, please do more research.
Diving into the Suikoden iceberg is like uncovering the layers of a rich, epic saga. 🌟 The series' ability to juggle a vast cast while delivering a compelling narrative is nothing short of masterful. 🎮📖 The combat mechanics, the unforgettable soundtrack, and the deep lore all contribute to its legendary status. Thanks for shedding light on the intricacies of this beloved series. Can't wait to explore every tier of this iceberg! ❄✨
OK, you got several things flat out wrong. Like, a lot of things. And I'm not talking about your mispronunciation of "Genso" either. 0:57 - What is this box art? That's a North American GBA box, and the game never came out outside of Japan, and the key art is from Suikoden 3, not 2 which the game is a retelling of. 1:05 - For a section called "Connected Universe", saying Tierkreis is in an alternate universe is a bit weird, don't you think? If you played Tierkreis you'd also know that there's potentially more to it then that, at least as far as speculation is concerned. A great thing to mention in a "Connected Universe" segment, but alas left untouched. 1:15 & 1:21 - You have the PSP game and the "slot machine" completely confused. Woven Web of the Centuries IS the PSP spinoff game released in 2012. The pachislot Suikoden whatever isn't even a "game" in the same sense as the other games are. And the other box art you're using is the (Japanese only) PSP re-release of Suikoden 1 and 2. 2:33 - The sword isn't called "Luck & Pluck". It's called Luck first, and when it's given to Jojo, Bruford changes it's name to Pluck before dying. 2:47 - Beginning of which game? 3:00 - Removed in the Japanese version? You make it sound like the Japanese version came second. And yes, it was cause of religious connotations. 3:11 - Again, which game? And all the sequences in the intro are from the perspective of Lekkant as she watches events of the past and possible future through her crystal ball. The Humphrey, Flik and Odessa one specifically is just a representation of something they did before the start of the game. 3:42 - Which game? OK, I'll stop doing these now, you clearly don't know. 4:13 - "Allowing normal game growth relatively simple" - what does this sentence even mean? 4:16 - It was fixed in the PSP re-release of Suikoden 2, not PS. You also make it sound like the bug is in both 1 and 2 originally, but the place you got this info from is referring to the PSP re-release that you skipped over when talking about the game. 8:40 - WITH Nanami. 9:44 - True rune, not real rune. "True Rune" is a very specific thing in the Suikoden universe. 10:39 - The Kickstarter didn't raise 500,000 dollars. That was the amount they were originally asking for. 11:03 - Using unrelated footage of Suikoden 2 while talking about a Suikoden 1 Easter Egg. Great. 12:00 - This is incredibly poorly explained, and is not a glitch, just an extreme abuse of the way the game calculates experience from fights using the difference between character and enemy levels. 12:45 - No, you don't load your save normally. You have to use the fight and pick "Don't give up". 12:27 - ...and 3. Weird that you're using Suikoden 2 footage, and then saying it "also" works in Suikoden 2. 13:01 - OK, not familiar with the Drama CD's myself, but the sentences are very weirdly structured, and the footage is completely wrong, showing the in-game comment boxes that the radio segment was referencing, some random spreadsheet, and... a thread from a fan forum where people share their collection of Suikoden games and merch? What? 14:19 - Where the heck did you get this outro from? Some random Kotaku article? What legendary designer? 2010's? There was no Suikoden game released in the west past 2009, so what was expected to "take off"? A game series that started in the 90's? This isn't even an exhaustive list of the errors in this video. You could make an iceberg video about the things that were wrong with this video. Take this to heart and don't talk about stuff like you know it when you actually don't. It's not going to work out.
the stat stone glitch can be abuse after using all your available stat stones in that particular load game, then you intentionally lose an encounter battle for the game to ask you "continue" or "give up" as a selection, if you choose to continue, you'll return to the last save point of your last loaded game, not by just loading the game after you spent all your stat stones that you mentioned, it's a wrong method, and player not aware of this wanting to try this glitch may not receive the result they looking for.
There exist an infinite money trick in suikoden 1. Theres a gambling NPC in rockland where you bet for the correct location of a coin in one of the 3 cups. Basically the location of the coin is the same everytime you load your save file.
Suikoden 2 is my favorite game ever. I've 100% all of the games including Tierkreis and Tactics. One of my earliest gaming memory is speedrunning Suikoden 2 trying to catch up to the letters for Clives quest. I was so mesmerized by stumbling on Sajah Village tucked away west of the capital at the end of the game. Why was it there? What was the point of it being included? That was the start of my love of the world and the lore of the series. Great video 👍
Why are so many of your videos filled with incorrect content? For example, the Suikoden 3 manga was released in the US. I feel like you dont spend enough time making these videos as they are always filled with incorrect info and spelling errors.
The footage in the intro of Suikoden 1 I took as showing the rebels prior to the Hero's involvement. Why it shows Humphrey, Flix and Odessa fighting enemies together. The whole thing was alot of flashbacks.
@@Maker1 I never knew about the full color intro by beating hundreds of highlander scum, welp time to beat some more just to watch the intro in full color and shed manly tears. seriously even without voice acting Suikoden 1 and 2 is full of emotional scenes.
There are individual RPGs I'd say I preferred over Suikoden but taken as a series as a whole, I don't think anything beats it. The only JRPG series that has come even within the ballpark of it in terms of overarching story & world building has been Falcom's Trails series.
Breath of Fire 1-4 deserves a head nod and a remaster. Suikoden and BoF series were just as beloved to me growing up as FF classics (1-9). And just BECAUSE imma name drop Parasite Eve 1&2, and Xenogears.
I see suikoden in the title of a video and instantly know I'm dealing with a person of sophistication and class. You make great videos! Keep on keeping on.

Woven web of the centuries is a full on turn based rpg. It's not a slot machine game.
I always viewed the Odessa, Flik, and Humphrey fight scene in the opening as a look into the Liberation Army's travels before the hero arrived.

Hadn't even finished the video and saw so much wrong. Good to see others pointing it out too.
Would love like a dlc that allows you to play through the game like Luca blight (favourite villain of all time)

Bought suikoden 1 eons ago. It was a $20 bin gamble at Walmart. Never regretted it once. Still have it to this day.
It could be quite valuable now. Hopefully it was in good shape with book/box. Great find 👏
I got suikoden 1 from a pawn shop when ps2 had just came out was hooked from that moment on. I've played all the games that came out in English.
Suikoden 1 and 2 were so fun. It had so much side quests and stories that it had so much replay value for me.
So many fond memories of these games. Number 2 may be one of my favorite stories of all time. Very excited to see them remade.
