I love this project because it remains a custom classic model without exaggerations very simple and even more I love this chevrolet 3100 because at 13 years old I started my collection of scale cars with a 1952 chevrolet suburban 3100 excellent work and my respects from Paraguay👉🏼🇵🇾
Beautiful work to save a discarded utility vehicle It is a credit to you and your skills! Thank you for posting I'm tired of these chop shop butchered Rat crap!.. Nice to see you keep the original lines and beauty of the car!
Wow make me think about my younger days my neighbor had a 52 Chevy 3100 suburban candy apple red with a white top 350 Corvette motor 400 turbo trans true spokes wheels and B.F. Goodrich tires and it was a cream puff good job.
Like the build !! I'm looking for one ! Have the kit to use the c4 corvette front and rear suspension have the 6.0 4l80 boxs of L.S conversion items your great find
I am so surprised that you just didn't do away with the side windows and make it a panel van and I'm amazed at how you did on this van I just Suburban very nice done perfectly
Nice work. Like the restomod idea on this one. For once, I don't mind it having a small block chevy motor, since it is a chevy. Personally, I think I would have gone for 454, 455 or even 502 caddy motor, they're all in the family after all. What's the gearing on it? traditionally these might even have had a six cylinder truck motor with such low gears 50 maybe 60 on a good day would be all you could do flat out. I had a 65 like that, you could actually go faster with a load on it than without.
When I found this Suburban it had been parked since 1976 when a high school boy received his graduation car. I guess the JBL sticker was pretty cool when he drove it previous to 76.
you did a amazing job on this Suburban I used to have a 49 panel van until a tree fell on the roof how much time and money do you have into this vehicle it came out amazing
Perfectly honored sleeper, who's earned every damn right in the world to look it's age. The daily driver i saddle up here in Cowtown Texas, is a 3100 5 window '50, with a '54 235 -3 on the tree, with the hind legs of a '70 Pontiac Catalina, that's alway's looking for just a little higher gear, when it's out on there on the whizway. These Advanced Series look like a well muscled huntin' dog. Had more than a few tots call mine out with the name ''MATER''. Must be the rust primer, no front bumper & snickered up toothy grill! Like your brand of persentation. Non apologetic, or false egotistical voice overings. Obliged for the many angled video & stills. 61618
In 1953 a Suburban was a Plymouth Station Wagon. That continued into the early `70s, it was after that Chevrolet started putting Suburban on their big window wagon.
um yeah... but if memory serves... and these days I'm not sure about that, suburban designation on the plymouths was more like a trim package than a model. Oh it was badged suburban, but they made pretty much the same wagon with another name on it. I think the main difference was the tailgate.
@@tootall5559 The entire lineup for Plymouth in `53 was as follows: BELVEDERE CAMBRIDGE CRANBROOK SAVOY SUBURBAN The first four are sedans, the last, the Suburban was the only wagon they made at that time. Their wagon was designated a Suburban through `60 and then you could say after sixty it became a trim level of a wagon or a type of wagon because they offered others. That trim or style wagon really carried on through the early `70s. Chevrolet could not and did not sell anything with Suburban written on it until later in time, and i forget exactly what year they picked it up, copywriting the name of course.
@@CraneofBoulogne I remember the cranbrook, my grandfather had one. He sold it off and got a Dodge.wagon, but that was like ...62 I think somewhere around there. the timeline I remembered probably wasn't right.
@@tootall5559 I ran across a nice clean early fifties Suburban maybe twenty years back and should have bought it but did not act quickly and it was gone when i went back two days later. I always liked that old all steel Plymouth wagon. Jay Leno has one now, it is on RUclips here. His is a `49 or so, beautiful shape too of course.
@@CraneofBoulogne don't you hate when that happens. I don't know how many goog deals I missed for this reason or that. My money wasn't in place, the place was closed but the car sold before I got back, whatever. Always something it seems. I can't seem to pick a good ride these days. My late wife could pick em tho, and knew nothing about cars. I thnk I do, but in reality, nope.
I'm confused, is there another part to come. It didn't look like it was finished. did something happen? otherwise, looks like a Sweet restoration job in progress
All of the information in this video was taken from my blog without my knowledge. The Suburban was not completed by the time my blog was closed and so there are no pictures showing completion. In this video I just needed to complete my headliner, carpet, side panels and door panels.

Check your glasses Mr.Stewart there's only two rust areas I observed the get fender&cab mount areas . That looked to be repaired and replaced extremely well. Perhaps the dis coloration you think is rust is actually the properties of metal of that era that stand the test of time. as to metals of the late 60 s and 70s. To the owner, builder awesome job well done, an example of America n craftsman ship at its best, you should be proud. Metalbender67
Great work on the body then you go and put those ugly seats in it and the raised white letter tires on it , the cleaner look is to go black wall anyone who likes raised lettering on their tires is just advertising are you getting any type of discount for doing that I think not .

Do you no how to remove outer window trim
What are the seats out of? Great build!!
Just removing that stupid 1980's JBL sticker off the back was a major improvement. Still, overall, an excellent job!

Good chevy
Is it possible to drop that 53 body on a 2001 rolling chassis (suburban) same wheelbase
It's possible but you would have to move purches and a fre mounts
Few mounts... Sorry
Yeapp or a 90s Burban conversation
MALIK Newton i do know that the 1990 suburban its a .5" longer or shorter, this do u think it work better ?
craizygolf1980 ; Chassis wise it may work but of course it has to be a 2wd model not the 4X4 or Z71 package
should have restored it
Not my build but I am still wincing at the rounded bolts and almost puked when I saw that diff laying there.
maravilha
Looks ok for a home build. But could be better. The prep work just wasn’t there.
ok.
LOL what a way to drag a video on and on

Grave digger ?

I didn’t know they had suburban in da 50’s🤷🏿♂️
At least the owner that suburban could have put Armor All on his tires?
