Great point. Adding to it, in a way it feels like the YM has always been that "experimental" model, right? It all just makes sense that this is an ideal playground for them now! 🥃

My pleasure Jay! Something tells me a release like this won't affect them (discontinue them) A titanium model like this is too much of an "outlier" to have the Yachtmaster category to itself 🥃
@@ID-Guy Thank you for getting back to me. I do wonder whether this will help revamp the image of the Yachtmaster and possibly increase it’s popularity overall? If I’m completely honest, I’m surprised it’s not more popular anyway given that it hits a sweet spot between watches that fall into Rolex’s ‘tool watch’ genre and more elegant pieces, such as the Daytona. As you suggest, perhaps it’s the lack of an obvious identity between the two that has hindered it. However, it does seem that a very slight change of mindset to ‘the best of both’ genres might be the way forward for this model. It wouldn’t surprise me if we see this model emerge as the latest ‘hot model’ in the coming months. It seems to be building some traction on RUclips already.
Surprised that you didn't mention the rose gold YachtMaster 40 on the Oysterflex bracelet, a beautiful watch, that was also available, strangely, as a 37 millimetre variant. I was unaware there was a white gold version. However, I still think my blue dial is the best one to own.
It's refreshingly nice to know that Rolex isn't entirely resting on its laurels by keeping their yacht masters professional sports line models updated while being different at the same time. Better late than never as they would say. I enjoyed your renderings of the yacht masters offerings and I think Rolex is strategizing to develop a new breed of professional sports line models alongside existing variants or a new and seperate category variant will be created for similar purposes like the Oyster Quartz as the example. Thanks for the video with best regards, IDGuy. 😎⌚👍
Thank you as always Thomason and great points! Would be awesome to see that "Performance Professional" line in the background that offers experimental materials with all sorts of other features. BUT at the same time we're being way too imaginative hahaha! 🥃

Ok, love this video. As a YM40 owner, one which has been featured on this channel recently (proud to say and thank you), I love this new watch. Symmetry is on point here. However, I do wonder about the weight. Will it be too light? Will the Ti clasp (if that is the case) balance it out. I have always wanted to try on the white gold model to get a better feel for it with that Oyster Flex 'bracelet'. I do wonder about the price point and if the juice will be worth the squeeze. I am on the list for the new Polar and, if I can attain, at retail, I see good value for money there. Will this watch be the same? I guess one could say buying any Rolex at retail would be good value for money these days. Anyway, keep up the great work, on point as usual. Love the channel.
Appreciate it Jeffrey! And of all the models, the Yachtmaster is one of the few professionals I've had lots of time with. Funny, but experienced the Rhodium and WG Daytona Oysterflex in the same afternoon and both are superb in their own way. The Oysterflex is amazingly comfortable and balanced via the clasp and weight. It's now wondering how the Titanium will factor in because it's going to be super light... and that heft is what we all want out of pieces like these? Maybe a rubber strap won't be the ideal option for a model like this? Also good luck getting the Polar! I'll be holding thumbs for you brother ;) 🥃
The mistake they made with the 42mm Yacht Master was making it in white gold, I’d been waiting and hoped they’d do it in platinum and i’d of bought one of those !!! But I just don’t like yellow or everrose or white gold , especially as it dulls and needs a plating etc Tudor have shown the way with Bronze and Silver But atleast this Titanium version is a step in the right direction and it would be nice at 44mm 👍🏻
I would love a titanium Yachtmaster finished all matt as a genuine toolwatch. To wait whilst feeding my appetite, I bought the Omega Seamaster 007 in titanium.
Great to see you presenting rather than voice over guy. But the script you kept reading from made your eyes look away from us too much. You need it at the foot of the screen or top. To keep your eyes 👀 on us. Then occasionally look left or right to add interest 👍🏻 Great Video though.
Titanium doesn't look elegant? I believe the ZENITH Defy Classic would disagree with that statement. It's mostly because alot of brands use the cheaper and softer GRADE2 titanium, which is indeed darker and even can oxidize a bit, while the obvious choice is GRADE5 - harder, more expensive to manufacture and can even be polished.
Interesting...just when I was consciously trying to ignore Rolex news. That would be mostly due to their unavailability(new) at a fair price. And yet, here I sit, watching every second, imagining getting one of these.
Like us all Henry. The enjoyment (for me at least) comes from a place of talking about them. The thought of actually owning these has nearly evaporated at this stage haha! BUT then maybe it's the minuscule chance that keeps us coming back for more? Sort of like a terrible relationship? Ah, I crack myself up sometimes 🥃
Two things I’m curious. Is that Titanium prototype is coated in black color?? DLC coating can protect soft grade 2 Titanium surface. I wonder if Rolex is ready for making Titanium material itself by themselves. If they can own the material, Why not?
I would take this over a submariner all day. I love the yacht master but the bling has always put me off. If they do a matte maxi dial. Omg! thats my kind of Rolex. YES PLEASE!
I really like the monochrome styling of this watch; i wonder what the cost would be though. If it’s not massively cheaper than the white gold version I’m not sure I would understand the point of it.
Talk about titanium, I really like them! I got a 2012 Pelagos from my mom as my first mechanical watch and my love with mechanical watches start! I wear my watch while i am cycling and there is so much sweat that i did develop a few rust spot on my weiss watch. If u give me a choice between a titanium watch or steel sport watch, i will go for titanium every single time The brand new release from Longines Spirit really caught my eye! I will get it someday after i buy a Baltic MR01
It's cheaper for Rolex to market their existing lines as new and interesting to encourage people to buy them when they can't easily buy Subs, GMTs, Explorers and more recently OPs. I look forward to the titanium and ceramic bicolour pearl master in 2025 and the huge marketing campaign and youtube algorithm chasers.
That last line cracked me up! You'd think they'd want to be known as the "everyman watch" today, but that's Tudor's baby. You struck gold with that Titanium Pearlmaster by the way!! Great commentary Stu, love it!
Odd one, this. Most 'prototypes' appear in the range eventually, but metal tech's not really Rolex's bag and they'd be trailing Seiko/GS, Sinn, Blancpain, Panerai and Omega etc to market. I'd buy (light and robust), but given Rolex's production/AD SNAFU, a separate production line/range is the last thing they want. Titanium is a great metal, but a nightmare to work. It can be polished however, but is very expensive to do well (see Seiko/GS models, divers included), most Swiss cheap out and don't polish. Also, I don't believe Rolex make their steel cases in-house: precious metal only. A Ti case would certainly be outsourced. I think only Seiko is full integrated.
Thank you for all of this James! So many manufacturers have been working with these metals already... if I was given the option to source a metal it would be Sinn's Tegimented Steel. It's leagues above so many others for "work watches". Great point about the polishing too! Seen how GS gets such a great finish from the material. Well, we all look forward to seeing how the RLX titanium is marketed ;)
@@ID-Guy No worries! As a man on honeymoon with a Tegimented Sinn, I can wholeheartedly recommend them! It is a laughably superior steel to most watches. Not jewellery grade though and perhaps a little over-engineered!
Great episode as usual IDG! When I read about this one it looked to me like it'd be the most handsome watch they would have in their catalog. I've been such a fan of the white gold one, but due to my wallet, a fan from afar I will remain. It'd be fun if you did a community poll for us all to guess the RRP of this watch. I'll guess $13K
It's interesting because it sounded like Rolex was in contact with a few of these major publishers around the story of the Titanium YM and the feedback from them is that it's Titanium. Rolex making a ceramic model? Now THAT would be a headline! 🥃
I like the yacht master . But what's the point of getting excited with brand that won't sell then to anyone unless you bribe the AD or buy 4 watches that you don't want
Rolex are slow to take up titanium, the yatchmaster is basically a sub, with a different bezel. Omega as a brand have definitely tried different materials like carbon and as a result are catching up. Rolex have always been stable offering small changes to their flagship models, and as a result have been perceived as a quality product. But times are changing and rolex needs to offer more choices now if they want to remain the number 1 brand. Omega have always been very varied and it could pay off soon, as they have made some really iconic models too. Seiko too, are upping their game, and making more high end models that will give anyone a run for their money , the next decade is going to be hard fought .
Rolex knows what they’re doing. Just a year ago no one wanted an OP. OPs we’re the only thing in the cases. They revamped with new colorways. Boom everyone goes crazy. Now yachtmasters gold/and two tones are in the cases. Revamp to a dark matte color way, empty cases forever.
The Oyster Perpetuals have always been the most popular Rolex models in my opinion. It's only on RUclips that the video makers keep talking about Submariners and Explorers or even GMTs. In the real world, most people that I see buy a Rolex buy an OP date/day-date
I'm wondering if they ever plan on making it on a bracelet. If not then what this is going to be is the other side of the oyster perpetual. Let me explain the oyster line has always been a true tool watch but now it's become the entry-level dress tool of all there lines. This in titanium on the other hand is going to be a true tool and keeping it on the strap and not a bracelet will reduce the price per unit majorly. If I had to take a guess this one at retail will be on the cheap end for one say 7,500 or that ballpark. This and the two tone explorer tells me that rolex wants to extend there side lines away from steel. The submariner even with its precious metal versions is still represented by steel but the Yacht master has had a tough time finding the right material for itself. Titanium can be the ultimate choice that no other lines will share in and give it the best chance to show off from its older brother the submariner.
Speaking of Tudor Pelagos, next week's clip is going to be fun ;) And you're right, its by far the most ideal watch that Tudor offers too in many respects! Great points here brother 🥃
Blue face and Red Seconds? It's stunning. Got some good hands-on with one last year and they're SO good in the metal! You won't be disappointed Chris ;) Holding thumbs for you brother!
It's funny, of all the professionals, I've probably had more time with Yachtmaster than any other. It gives you a bit of a shock at first because of how polished and shiny it is BUT it's also very dressy. Well worth looking into the combo's the offer with them too. Some amazing colours and metals 🥃
The biggest mystery of all is what convoluted name Rolex will give titanium, RLX titanium just doesn't sound like Rolex. Roletanium? Tilex? Oystertanium maybe? Or something even stupider. Rolex is so integrated they even make the rocks the titanium comes from. BTW did you see the new Pelagos IDGuy? Its your MN watch and its out there...
Oystanium. Love it! ;) Ah Nef, next week's video is covering all the Pelagos! Got some sharp renders to share and ALL the leaks (including Beckham) Super excited to say the least! 🥃
Forgot to say 31 seconds into this video there are three omega watches, at twelve o'clock there is a speedmaster with hands like the other watches. I have never seen a speedmaster with these hands. Is this one of your render made up watches ? 👍
Ah Rich, its the legendary CK2915. The picture is of the First Speedmaster, Seamaster and Railmaster that were introduced in 1957 (as a trilogy) Broad Arrow Omega's are in a class of their own ;) 🥃
@@ID-Guy It's a beautiful watch, I bought myself the seamaster 300 version of these three watches last year. I did not know they did a Speedmaster with these hands.
It looks great and imho it only needs an additional RLX-Orange strap to complete the package.
Hahaha and there's nothing wrong with that, @@ID-Guy . That's what keeping this watch interest and passion fascinatingly alive and alight like waiting on Big Ben striking midnight for new year's day. 😎⌚👍 🥃
But I just don’t like yellow or everrose or white gold , especially as it dulls and needs a plating etc
Tudor have shown the way with Bronze and Silver
But atleast this Titanium version is a step in the right direction and it would be nice at 44mm 👍🏻
I would love a titanium Yachtmaster finished all matt as a genuine toolwatch. To wait whilst feeding my appetite, I bought the Omega Seamaster 007 in titanium.
A titanium Deep Sea or Sea Dweller 43 would be fantastic.
I never cared for Submariner, but Yachtmaster strangely really appeals to me.
ohh rolex such a good April fool’s joke in october
Great to see you presenting rather than voice over guy. But the script you kept reading from made your eyes look away from us too much.
You need it at the foot of the screen or top. To keep your eyes 👀 on us. Then occasionally look left or right to add interest 👍🏻
Great Video though.
It looks like it could be bead blasted in the photos. I quite like it
This is your first face reveal!?
Actually did a face reveal about four videos ago haha! BUT this IS the first Rolex related video post "face reveal" ;)
@@ID-Guy I missed those videos! Thanks for another great upload!
I'd like a titanium Yacht-Master with an emerald dial! 🌟😎🌟
Two things I’m curious.
Is that Titanium prototype is coated in black color?? DLC coating can protect soft grade 2 Titanium surface.
I wonder if Rolex is ready for making Titanium material itself by themselves.
If they can own the material, Why not?
Thanks 🙏
I would take this over a submariner all day. I love the yacht master but the bling has always put me off. If they do a matte maxi dial. Omg! thats my kind of Rolex. YES PLEASE!
I really like the monochrome styling of this watch; i wonder what the cost would be though. If it’s not massively cheaper than the white gold version I’m not sure I would understand the point of it.
Rolex should put titanium to Yachtmaster and explorer 2 and I want to see Rolex sailcloth strap (if they will come up with that).
An Explorer 2 in Titanium would make so much sense! Great idea Adil! 🔥
Talk about titanium, I really like them! I got a 2012 Pelagos from my mom as my first mechanical watch and my love with mechanical watches start! I wear my watch while i am cycling and there is so much sweat that i did develop a few rust spot on my weiss watch. If u give me a choice between a titanium watch or steel sport watch, i will go for titanium every single time
The brand new release from Longines Spirit really caught my eye! I will get it someday after i buy a Baltic MR01
Whether in steel or titanium, mat or shiny, a Yacht Master with a no-date complication that is just the right size would be very welcome... ek se.
They should do a super tactical style submariner.
@@ID-Guy I will share all IP royalties with you!
@@stueyx You're a legend, sir! We're going to make it big!
You say that but then their explorer 2 update was a massive missed opportunity.
ID GUY GETTING HIS FACE IN! Go on then!
It gonna happen
Perfect
Good voice tone and delivery for watch reviewing
Interesting, I’ll put my name down now!!!
The white gold YM is a stunner, a man can always dream! 😄
Love it
Appreciate it Gareth! It could be such a sleeper (hopefully) ;)
not sure i'm convinced.. hopefully it will have the oysterflex option..
How certain are we that it is titanium and not something else, ceramic?
If you had to guess, what would be the retail price if Rolex released this?
Rolex knows what they’re doing. Just a year ago no one wanted an OP. OPs we’re the only thing in the cases. They revamped with new colorways. Boom everyone goes crazy. Now yachtmasters gold/and two tones are in the cases. Revamp to a dark matte color way, empty cases forever.
The Oyster Perpetuals have always been the most popular Rolex models in my opinion. It's only on RUclips that the video makers keep talking about Submariners and Explorers or even GMTs. In the real world, most people that I see buy a Rolex buy an OP date/day-date
ZRC will release a 38mm 2022. My escape plan for the unavailability of a sub or zenith lupin.
ZRC has all the heritage (and quirks) you'd ever need ;) Great choice as always Gel!
Titanium can be the ultimate choice that no other lines will share in and give it the best chance to show off from its older brother the submariner.
titanium, mat finish, velcro, bi-directional bezel... basically the Rolex version of the Tudor FXD
Just feels too close to Tudor Pelagos to me. I can see it selling quite well, but then the Pelagos would be a bargain offer from Tudor/Rolex.
Speaking of Tudor Pelagos, next week's clip is going to be fun ;) And you're right, its by far the most ideal watch that Tudor offers too in many respects! Great points here brother 🥃
I just hope I get the call for the blue faced variant before this watch gets too hyped 😬
I hear that!
Blue face and Red Seconds? It's stunning. Got some good hands-on with one last year and they're SO good in the metal! You won't be disappointed Chris ;) Holding thumbs for you brother!
Yes that’s the one. I have become a bit obsessed with it 🤣. keep up the good content pal 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@ID-Guy yeah that’s the one. I’ve just sold my two tone explorer to fund one providing I get the call
Going after omega 007 Seamaster 😆🍻
Notice that? Even using Speedmaster Nylon & Velcro tech! Us fanboys know ;)
And the Rolex fan boys will accuse Omega of copying Rolex.
Still hoping for a no date 42mm ( in steel )
I have never seen the Yachtmaster
It's funny, of all the professionals, I've probably had more time with Yachtmaster than any other. It gives you a bit of a shock at first because of how polished and shiny it is BUT it's also very dressy. Well worth looking into the combo's the offer with them too. Some amazing colours and metals 🥃
It's confirmed by Rolex. I got a Rolex issue 9 magazine when I bought my explorer a few day ago. If you PM me I can prove it.
I've saved up for a Explorer 1 and have been told by my A.D i'll have it before christmas but i'm very tempted to get that Speedmaster now. I wonder if there is a help group for watch addiction like there is for alcohol because if there is i need to join. What am i to do.
@@richlander5874 There’s plenty of watch “help” groups but they’re not going to help you not buy watches! 😂
