Hiya steve. Me and my mates at school would emulate and copy the way you led up to a free kick it had a style all of its own with your arms down,it taught us well because it kept the ball down and straight and gave it power keeping your upper body forward down! I guess you never realised your style to others compared with players today who lean backwards as though they were trying to reach potters bar traffic lights! What happened to toe punting no player does it anymore? Lastly i had the most unexpected surprise when i visited a respite home to help a friend,a patient asked me if i was ok,yeah he was asking me! It was Terry Dyson i was blown away and i still cant believe it,we had a short conversation sadly but he looked well. What a legend he was,him and cliff on opposite wings. Dont forget to clean the hoover out. Thanks for the memories.
The one & only SP, ‘Skip’ par excellence & as Howard rightly says, irreplaceable. Wishing Kin a speedy recovery & you’re welcome to practice your hoovering skills at our 0:09 house anytime! COYS
Hey stevie, just a quick gday from Australia, saw you play many times in 70s 80s and had the privilege of meeting you after 84 uefa cup,you will be idolised from the other side of the world.
Greetings from Chalfont St Giles. Huge congratulations Steve, on the 55th anniversary of your Spurs debut. Your first step, on the way to becoming an all time legend of the club. It was a privilege, the times I was lucky enough to speak you, when you lived in the village in the 70s. COYS 💙
Steve - I'm similar age to you at 19 April 1954 and my first Spurs game I think was home to Sheffield Wednesday. Memories are necessarily vague at our age but I think we won 1-0 after Jimmy Greaves and Alan Gilzean did a bit of head tennis and then one of them headed in at the Paxton Road end. I hope I'm not mixing games up here but I also think I remember you coming on as sub. One thing I definitely remember was being at Wembley when you lifted the FA Cup after the 1981 replay. All the very best.
Steve you Remember the Tottenham team in the late Seventies that got Relegated this team reminds me of that Team!!!!!!!!!!! ( a lot of poor Performances) PS Not really a fan of Ange Levy has backed the wrong man if Conte had same backing we would be challenging
