- Here are a few tips with the planer that I've learned that have made big difference in my shaping. A lot of them seem like common sense, but you only know what you know - right?

holy crap it's only been 6 months??
Haha yeah I think just about to roll into month 7. It does feel like it’s been more than that though!
i like the shaoe
Thank you 🙏🏽 It’ll be interesting to see how it rides
LOVE THE TIPS. What a great looking board, bro. Thanks for posting
You bet! Thanks for watching my guy 🫡
the final board looks so fun!!
I wish I could say it surfed as fun as it looks! Unfortunately, I learned a lesson not to upturn the rails - makes it really hard to engage the rails during turns! 🥲
I love the honesty of your journey. And your tips are great and boards awesome for 6 months!
Thank you 🙏🏽
I’m hoping others leave better tips for me in the comments 🙂
@@paul_s-eo i know less than you so I'm waiting for those tips too 😆

Did you shape chines the entire length of the bottom rails? Interesting to hear the reason why.
Not quite all the way but pretty close. They still have a hard edge the last 16” or so on the chines. I just figure it’s just an exaggerated version of a “V” out the back. What are your thoughts on it?
@paulzeye_surfboards Honestly, I've just heard about the method. Which to my limited knowledge was used on the nose for long boards.
It's hard to say how it would perform. Loose on the face, or become tighter as though you've created an exaggerated pinched rail. Likely the latter.
Hey, man. I've seen some wild ideas from well know shapers. Some still do some wild stuff today.
It'll be interesting to here the feed back.
@@burnout9069 I really like to do it on wider boards, fish and logs etc. it moves the pivot point in toward the stringer and helps them roll side to side with less effort.
