Mouthwashing was the demo that hooked me straight away with it's weirdness and eeriness. It'll be a day one purchase for me for sure. I also really enjoyed and recommend the demo for Hollowbody (it's a survival horror set in a dystopian near-future), Tales of Kenzera: Zau and Pepper Grinder. Keep up the great videos!
Oh yeah, totally surreal and as a longtime Silent Hill fan pretty much got its claws in me immediately. Weird you should mention that as I JUST added it to my wishlist the other day! I'll check out the others though and appreciate the kind words, T1tan- Hope you've been well! :)
Gah so I DID mess up your name! Sorry about that but hey, thanks again for the recommendation because Mouthwashing was thoroughly unnerving! I did my best to edit out a lot of the scariest parts just because I didn't want to spoil it and all.
Fall of Porcupine looks remarkably like Night in the Woods, which I did enjoy; but it’s so similar that I can’t help but wonder if it’ll come across as a mediocre imitation…good thing there’s a demo, I guess! Great video as always.
Mouthwashing looks very interesting. Definitely a game for Steam Deck. Fall of Porcupine looks like Night in the Woods 100%. It looks like spiritual successor.
It's certainly an unnerving experience! As for Fall of Porcupine completely accurate and I could've sworn I saw a framed photo of Margaret somewhere in the environment?
Nice suggestions! Ultros looks like a Metroidvania on acid lol! But I got to say that the intense colors are kinda drawing me in so I'll have to check it out! Fall of Porcupine seems like a good cozy game and I've been playing a bit more of them from time to time so I'll add it to the list! I really like that a ton of games now have demos to try out so that you don't have to waste any money if you don't like them! Especially in this day and age where there's like 100 games released per month! I should be getting Pacific Drive this Friday at the same time as Unicorn Overlord which I can't wait to play! Great video and keep up the good work!
Dude right? SUCH trippy visuals! It's overwhelming honestly- there's just a shocking number of new games regularly coming out. Demos are a great way to sort of sort through the onslaught and I always keep an eye out for new ones :p Thanks man!
Fall of Porcupine went directly onto my wishlist. Its style reminds me of "Little Misfortune" and "Edgar Bokbok in Boulzac". :) Oh and thanks for featuring my recommendation of Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy in the last video. :D
Great video! There was a demo for Pacific drive but they pulled it when it went up for sale. I am not really a metroidvania fan but there are a few that I play so I thought I would give Ultros a shot - because of the visual - and you were right, on my Deck OLED the colors definitely pop! Once I got used to the visuals though and settled into the game play there wasn't really anything else to keep me engaged. I really couldn't say why that is, there are just only a few of that style of game that I have ever enjoyed over the years, Oblivion Override being the most recent one.
Appreciate it, Jeff! Ah that makes more sense then. Glad to hear it looks slick on the OLED! I'm still early in Oblivion Override but REALLY liked what I'd played so far!
wow finally some unique looking games i really crave some good and new games right now thanks for the vid i am gonna check all these out! MULLET MAD JACK really looks interesting
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for taking the time to watch :) Mullet Mad Jack is WAY interesting but incredibly fast-paced to the point of sensory overload :p
Thank you, sir, for this glorious video! Have you checked out: The Isle (dinosaur horror) ? Or Decimate Drive (car horror while on foot) ? I don’t know if those are demos or early access… speaking of which, maybe do a video on good early access games, like Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon (serious dark Morrowind vibes)… 🎉
@@YourPlayer2 I might be wrong about the Isle of- ColdBeer says it’s an MMO where YOU are a dinosaur… I can’t remember the name of the Ps1-style Dino horror demo I was just playing!
Oh yeah I DO Have this on my wishlist! Probably gonna pull the trigger this month because I have fond memories of playing Turok in the spring when I was a kid so this seems like a good time to go for it :p
@@YourPlayer2 I have some downloaded. Trinity Fusion is a super smooth action roguelike. I think it could overtake Dead Cells if it gets enough updates & support.

@@YourPlayer2 The damn donkey scared me more than anything else. By the way, same person, different account. Akash means Sky in some Indian languages.

I thought the same thing. Shame we won't get a proper sequel to that game. Hopefully Revenant Hill can capture that magic.
Yup, first thing I thought when I fired it up! Not sure if it'll have legs beyond demo length but here's hoping.

Ultros is the one that I'm most interested in, since the art design is something of a 70's painting and I love it, almost like a Jimmy Hendrix album!
Ooooh that's a good way to describe it! Whatever the technical term is for that style it sure is gorgeous for a 2D game!
By far more like yellow submarine then. Hendrix

I still need to play Little Misfortune!! And no problem at all, Dumpling- Appreciate the heads-up :)
There was definitely a demo for Pacific Drive because that is what got me to buy it.
Ah ok so I WASN'T crazy! How ya liking it so far?

Many thanks, dude! Always nice to get some feedback, particularly when I try new formats :p
Love your videos man, i always take the time to watch 😆👌🏼
Glad to hear it, dude! Definitely appreciated :)
Manic retro sounds like snatcher from the sega CD
Ya know as a Kojima fan it pains me that I never got around to playing it. Hopefully one day I can find a way to emulate it or something!
I don’t know man , seems to me like you need a Steam deck oled!
Must....resist.... :p

I wasn't planning on it but I'll certainly look into it!

You've got to try the demo for Holstin. Go in blind, though.
Added to the wishlist and made sure not to read ANYTHING beyond the title text to get it saved :p
