This exercise is really effective! I tried this this evening and had muscles firing that I haven't been able to work on in years! I'm also a full time weight lifter, and that's saying something.
I appreciate that you show me 1 thing I can do to correct/rehabilitate my body in a short doable process. In January while on a daily morning walk I fell and fractured L4. Now 7 months later I am still experiencing things I had hoped would resolve on their own. I now understand from another of your videos why that will not happen (the fracture heals in an imperfect structure that by default causes the body to lean forward)and I need to strengthen/stabilize my core and pelvic areas to resolve/restore/overcome the imbalance in my body.
Dr. Shakib, thank you so much. I believe this channel is the exact thing that I need. Quick question, what are some cues I can tell myself during this exercise if my core muscles are very weak, and my shoulders and hips are trying to take over the movement?
Mam Iam Kavitha from India. I have been suffering from altered anorectal coordination for the past one year . And that too I had hemorroidectomy last year. I have rectocele and cystocele problems. Please suggest me a therapy which I can practice from home.
I strongly suggest breathing and pelvic stability exercises and full treatment for functional movement to eliminate any and all dysfunctional movement patterns. Someone to know all of those is rare and wished you were close so could come in for an evaluation. You may have to find different medical practitioners for each part.
I can’t lay like that on the floor. The two points in my upper buttocks feel like their being stabbed. Very painful. I assume it’s an iliac crest issue. I was told by my physical therapist it’s an si joint problem but it feels like my upper buttocks has two points pushing ig into the floor. It is where the butt dimples are.
@@corepelvicfloortherapy I am in Wichita Kansas. It’s actually been this way for em years. I noticed when I started doing yoga. It doesn’t hurt when I lay in my bed and do these exercises it’s only when I’m on my mat. I’ve had 4 c sections and I broke my tailbone playing roller derby. I’m fairly fit. My guess is I messed something up when I fell. That was like 15 years ago. I’ve been to a chiropractor a few times and saw a physical therapist and did all the exercises she told me to do to strengthen the muscles around my so joints but it didn’t help. It did help with my sciatic pain though. If I were to press on the spots with my finger it’s incredibly painful. But literally only when touched or doing movement that puts pressure on them like lying on my back with my legs up.
Last 10 year ago i had anal surgery.after this surgery i have been suffering from anorectal dysfunction.i have issue of fecal incontinence.please suggest me beneficial excercises.

If that is the case, I tell my patients to work on the dysfunction before they take it to the next step.

So,will keeping my spine neutral, while moving my arms and legs help with my tense pelvic floor?
- thank you
It is all about whole body stabilization. You want to stabilize the 'house' that pelvic floor is the 'floor' of.
