For the counter rotating gear box he has got 2 motorcycle right angle drive gearboxes units coupled together giving him the reduction and opposite turning shafts , a heavy way of doing it but reliable...................Peter
I think this needs some sort of computer assist for the controls. Replace the linkage with servos and work on some piloting aids using sensors. If you make it hover over one spot than making it travel will be easy.

Did you ever add a fan duct? You'd get better control, safety, and lift.

А что хаставляет расподагать винты с низу.. С верху и устойчивее(центр тяжести с низу) и безопаснее и мусора всякого в винты меньше
