My friend, friend’s family live unfortunately in a hoa and are sueing them for harassment, breaking and entering and so much more because the head of the hoa has been moving members her family into houses they picked out and they bullied people into moving the final straw when she had hired a moving van and gotten a lock smith and drilled the keyhole out and started packing and taking the furniture out of the house, whats worse is that her family went in and help themselves to their kids toys and games but what they didn’t know was the cameras installed inside the house, so you can bet when they take that proof to a judge shes going to jail
3rd story: Should have gone full scorched earth on the HOA, because what they did constituted harassment and abuse. They dont like it when lawyers serve papers to sue.
HOA story: People already have to follow city/county/state laws on what is and isn't allowed in and about your own home. WHY would anyone want to have to put up with nosy, bitchy, self-important, power hungry/demanding neighbors and PAY for them to do so? Crystal engraving story: OP, the only thing I see that you could have done better would have been to leave notes with her order so no one else promised her things that you couldn't do on that schedule. Single family home story: Yeah, someone on the HOA board wants that house and was plotting to get it. Getting a lawyer involved was your only real option. Being 21 and 19 they didn't figure you'd do that.
In my experience, due to decades of propaganda from the government and moneyed interests, most Americans will immediately say that they love freedom, but when what freedom costs is demonstrated, they hate it instantly. Like letting their neighbors do something they mildly disapprove of, that's unacceptable and the only freedom we need is the authoritarian kind where "I have the freedom and you have the responsibility." I.e. "Rules for Thee, None for Me."
The existence of "rules for thee but not for me" is exactly why the law (or it may be just a rule of jurisprudence) of "Easement" exists. Explaining that in simple terms: Anyone responsible for enforcing a rule or a law must make a good faith effort to ensure the rule or law is applied consistently and evenly, to everyone it applies to. Failure to do so by enforcing the rule selectively violates natural justice, which is why the rule of Easement exists.
Geezer: We could sue you because we were injured on your property! OP: Good luck with that. I could countersue you for trespassing & damage to private property. Wanna dance?
Just a moment, that 1st story, he NEEDED APPROVAL to have a BIRTHDAY PARTY in his backyard?? And people actually pay these dictators to tell them what to do ON THEIR OWN PROPERTY??
On the story about the sandblasting, op you to talk to the employee who told her the earlier date, and ALL other employees if the person is NOT your customer DON'T give them any info, they to talk only to the person working on their order.
From the sound of things, the employee was probably reading the schedule and mixed things up since that was the date for the proofs when the customer called in to confirm things
HOAs are small government. And they're agreed to. Like, you're never just under an HOA. You have to choose to join one. The idea is you choose a like-minded community with a small government for that community. You can't really get a smaller government than community government. That's even smaller than a township.
Regarding RedWheels remarks at the end of story one: Of the two main political parties, both advocate for larger government, just on opposite ends of the spectrum. HOA’s very much reflect the style of large overlord government that those living in them tend to vote for.
2nd story - This is why everyone needs to be on the same page when it comes to due dates. No one should be promising anything different without verifying with others.
Happy holidays RedWheel hope you have a great 2024. Thanks for sharing. Please stay safe.🏴😁😷👍. Have a great day and a wonderful holiday season ahead everyone
Grass Sign Story: OP should not have paid that Fine as it wasn't Legal... All HOA's MUST send a Notice of Violation by Signature Required Registered Mail to give the person a chance to correct the Violation BEFORE they can send the Fine, also by Signature Required Registered Mail...so No Notice = No Fine...
I grew up in the era where you pretty much had to abide by the time because you didn't have a cell phone. So when somebody said they were going to be at a certain date and time you stick to that until you talk to that person the next time which you could get a hold of. Apparently this wasn't a priority on her list. Also probably would look into the software they have for the order system and making sure that they have a time and date updating system.
I get a hold of any of the tourist companies that are coming through your town and tell them that they need to announce to people to stay off of people's property when they visit as a sign of respect as well as their personal safety. Also best way to shut them up about the sign saying it's like you want to have a sign in your pictures of stay off my property?
On the sister and brother inheriting a house: if you didn’t sign HOA membership papers, odds are you aren’t in the HOA. In a lot of areas, sales of the house can cause the buyers to be required to join, but not inheritors. I’d look into that…
0:46 after getting those fines he should have just sent the HOA a letter saying do you guys really think that the rules of your gay little club supersedes the Constitution and my right to freedom of speech?
I anticipate one and every videos you post RedWheel even if it was only to hear your comments at the end. You are full of common sense and and have a great sense of humor!
2:09 what's even crazier, is how being in a neighborhood with an hoa, where every retiree and nosy Karen with nothing better to do can tell you what to do with your own property and fine you and even foreclose on your home if you don't listen to them is something that increase is property values rather than decreases the value. Having random neighbors being able to tell you what you can and cannot do with your own property really should decrease the value not increase it.
My had a some people come onto our land once!! I mean once, he just got his shotgun out and walked into the yard and let one barrel go then the other. Guess what, yard cleared in less than 4 seconds. 😂😂😂😂
HOA isn’t just in America. I have heard your stories for a while now and I have heard the OP have HOA in Africa and England as well.. Australia… oh and Canada
I haven't gotten it back yet! I'm still in the process of getting it back. Thank you! I think I'll feel uncomfortable asking for money on Patreon. After all, my videos are not as labor-intensive as those of other RUclips authors. But thanks again for the moral support
Story 1: He still is out $200. Nothing gained in his "rebellion". Story 2: Stupid. Story 3: Great shutdown of the bridezilla. Story 4: HOA stopped by common sense. Story 5: Again stupid.
Make something for a complete stanger and eat all the cost since I am a women getting married, anybody willing to bet on that she would do anything for a stranger?

Good afternoon from London Ontario Canada
Story 3. Agree with you RW, that HoA definitely had ulterior motives.
Good afternoon or evening everyone and RedWheel 😊
Turn. On. The. Sprinklers. !!!!

Anyone agreeing to being part of a HOA, buying property in a HOA deserves the results!
On the first story, that's why I HATE hoa's.
Happy holidays RedWheel hope you have a great 2024. Thanks for sharing. Please stay safe.🏴😁😷👍. Have a great day and a wonderful holiday season ahead everyone

"Two single adults." "No, we're a couple." "...Aren't you brother and sister?" "Yep." "*slowly backs away*"
On the hoa trying to kick op and his sister out of their own home, SUE THEM for lawyer fee's.
That new fox is really cute
Story 3: You two are sisters, that constitutes a family. If siblings are not a family, what are they? On the other hand, a roommate is not family.
10:58 It is likely that the house was no longer in the HOA since they inherited it. They did not purchase it.
Love the cute mascot, almost as much as I enjoy you. Your expressive voice and comments.
Love the cat.
Small federal government. Local issues to be handled by local government.

Should have sued the HOA for attorney fees.
Your stories are the highlight of my day!

Please take down that little insert when making comments.
No, it's not a strange cognitive dissonance. It's STUPIDITY. Yeah, we've got it too.
Last story is a real pest.
Free range garanties should at least be collared...
HOA’s = FASCISM
Yeah ... don't need the commenting after the story.
The more I read these HOA stories of life in America, the more I'm convinced that they should be banned. Thank F we don't have such crap here.
all HOA's, and the Karens that run them, should be BANNED by law
You can have such exclusionary rule is deemed discriminatory
And take them to court for that
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
