Heyyy lovelies, in this video we are creating some beautiful handmade Air Dry Clay Christmas gift tags. I am using DAS Air Dry Clay and some basic tools. I do not have all of the best tools at all for Air Dry Clay.
Air Dry Clay at Christmas is truly one of the most relaxing activities you can take part in. The creative possibilities with Air Dry Clay are endless and there really are no rules or limits when using Air Dry Clay apart from water and not adding too much to your clay.

Oh what a cute idea! This year I got the idea to decorate gifts with pampas grass accents and was trying to figure out what to use as a tag and I can make these and add their name wit alphabet stamps too!

Love air dry clay iv used it for applique on furniture and to French shabby chic old picture frames, vases ect to make them more ornate..and at the weekend my granddaughter who is 4 sat and made some Christmas baubles out of clay for her mum and daddy and her sister she loved it...👍

Hi Claire. Just found your channel and subscribed. I never thought of using stamps. They are really nice. The revelation was that I can sand the dried clay! Duh! Didn't even think of doing that. Never thought of using my card stamps on air dried clay! These were lovely. I have just made one tree decoration for my niece for her babies first christmas but used one of those rollers to emboss it.

Great idea! Our Christmas theme was candyland, so we used a ton of air-dry clay for our cookies, cake pops, marshmallows, and other desserts. First real time playing with clay. It was a lot of fun, but was a bit put off by the texture of the Crayola Air-Dry Clay we used. Took a bunch of days to dry, too, but project turned out better than we dreamed. Our favorites were the different types of swirl pops and the gingerbread men.
Claire! You're a genius! This has given me the perfect solution to my quandary I was having with my memorial piece I'm about to start making! I will be using die cutters that I picked up from the Range earlier, with clay to add detail to the finished piece now!

Get a piece of old X-ray plastic. That is what we were told to use for smoothing plastic icing for cake decorating before all the fancy utensils came into being. Great video, ta. Cheers

Neat idea, but I’d put something underneath like parchment to lift it when you want to move it. And I’ve played a little with air dry clay but only some cheap stuff. And no, do not put them on wood, it’s porous. They would become part of the wood. And they really should be sealed at the end, even with something matte. Not sure what to use to do that on air dry clay but since the stuff can be rehydrated you want to try and protect it.
A cheap 18 x 18 ceramic tile works great for a work and drying space

Ohhhhh you really should .. someone here aso said that if you leave them to sit for like an hour ... you can then put them on a drying rack and they will dry overnight. I never even knew this so I'm excited ❤️❤️
I think this is an fabulous way to use air dry clay, I am a newbie at this and to hear someone with the same accent as me is awesome, I live in the US and don't hear it very often, love the video, definitely will subscribe to your channel, air dry clay is the most fun I have had in ages.

The Gnomes are lots of fun, but I love the Christmas Stockings most of all.
*Tip for moving air dry clay*
Try using a cheap, very thin egg toss .... you know the ones - you use them to turn your eggs over in the frying pan. I think they're actually called a fish slice - but I've only ever used them for tossing eggs. Make sure it's a thin one which you can bend the 'blade' in your hand. Then it will help you get the clay off your glass work top.

You could give me the link to the actual video, as the link in your description take me to all your air dry videos, and there are tons of those, and it would take me months to get through them all in the hope of finding the video you're talking about! Perfect! I need tags to stitch to each stocking! Adding 2 stockings this year...an easy way to always be able to make name tags as more are needed!
Precious! If you use cling wrap on top of the clay while you press the cookie cutter it will round out the edges for you.

Me, my 8yr old son, my neice and sister in law all sat around my kitchen table and did these yesterday afternoon. We all loved it! The kids will remember doing it and think we will make it a tradition, and me and my sister in law enjoyed aswell! It was actually relaxing, we got lost in doing it for 2 hours and wondered where the time had gone! X
Ohhhh this is incredible .. im so glad you had the same relaxing experience as I did .. it really is a great one for the whole family xx My Nieces are like 19, 17, 15 and 14 and we still do Clay Decorations every year alongside our GingerBread houses ... its been our tradition since they were tiny. Lovely and adorable gift tags. I use oven liner that helps with the clay not sticking to surface. I made 300+ ornament type figures using the same liner and the liner is still in excellent condition. I get plenty of mileage on this one sheet for other uses too. Thank you for sharing your ideas.

Hi love your video, you enthusiasm is infectious. I was watching a different air clay video and they used mesh drying racks and apparently they dry quicker. I’m going to try it in the next few weeks and use my cooking mesh racks (eg from my grill pan etc) see how that works. Fingers crossed 🤞

I use a cheap food dehydrator for the air dry clay. They are safe while they are drying and it’s fast.
You can use an offset spatula to lift you items when needed.

I love this idea and might try it, I have a fresh pack of Das lying on my craft table right now. I still mostly prefer polymer clay as I find airdry clay too stressfull due to the airdry part...
Love how these look Claire ❤. I did some similar ones Friday night and used my drying rack (same one as yours) to dry out my pieces and they are pretty much cured tonight.
You’re right tho, it’s a really relaxing craft, I love how there’s no pressure and if you don’t like it, just roll it back into a ball and start again! 😊x

Hi, such a great video, thank you for the ideas, your samples are beautiful, I’d try and use embossing folders as well as the stamp idea of yours, you can get wonderful patterns in them especially now with the 3D folders, thanks again, take care.
