    In an interview he said he and his coach were contemplating changing because they believed he could lift heavier using this style ( a lot heavier)

      I think this is because all weightlifters start from 0, and all of them have been weak before they were strong. They worked hard for their medals and no one gave them anything for free. They have worked, bled and suffered. And that makes you humble and down to earth.

    How comes Ilya is practicing Squat Jerks if he is a Split Jerker??

    • @eliascontreras1951
      @eliascontreras1951 3 года назад +3

      Its helps for isometrics, work on weak spots, strenghten other muscles for the split

    Why do the Chinese lifters prefer squat jerks? Is it a cultural thing, since Asians also tend to squat more in daily life?

    • @rapamune
      @rapamune 10 месяцев назад +1

      Generally shorter legs, which makes split stability difficult

    • @khmak9387

      @@rapamune Interesting. I *have* to split due to poor ankle and shoulder mobility limiting my overhead position in the squat.
